This hotel is "connected" with neighbour hotel, as we had breakfast buffe at the other hotel and used their swimming pool. Neighbour Hotel: Grand Hotel Duca d'Este. The breakfast was what you might call typical continental, with lots of cookies, cakes, fruits and cerials, but not much "food". The swimming pool and the swimming pool area is great, a BIG plus! :-) Well, you will have to pay a fee to rent a towel if you don't bring your own, as you are not allowed to bring the towel from your room. But I don't understand why they don't have a "bar" or kiosk by the pool, as they still have a guy working there as life guard all day. Back to the Hotel Tivoli; The room is OLD, but ok. Some ants visiting the bathroom, but they are polite and not that many. ;-) The AC works REALLY good, with not much noise. The beds are medium hard, but comfy. And I like it that the room has a "fridge"/minibar, where I could leave my drinks cold, that I had shopped accrossed the street, at the super market. The hotel "online information" about travel distance to Rome City Center by train is NOT recommended, to much of a hassle and it does not take only 30.min. Take the bus instead just outside the hotel, to the metro st."Rebibbia"(20-25min bus ride), and the metro to your destination in center of Rome("Termini"(11.stops) or "Colosseo" 13.stops)). (Rome has only 2 Metro lines (A and B). Quick, cheap and convenient. Train takes more time, and still you will have to take the metro from the train station to get into the center of Rome. I.e. HASLE. ;-) The hotel staff is friendly, the cleaning ladies too. If you are not a millionaire, stay away from their offer of "fitness room", at the cost of 15€ per day it is a robbery! The fitness is situated at the neighbour hotel, and you are able to use their "spa" for the same price, but the fitness is just a joke, not even a treadmill available at the fitness. Do your "work out" at your room, or take a jog in the neighbourhood instead. Be aware that this hotel is situated not in Tivoli, and not in Rome, you will have to use public transport to visit either, or a car if you have. But for a hotel at this price it is very decent, and thou I would not choose to stay here again if ever visiting Rome, the hotel it self is good. Need to end also by saying that even if you get the room towards the road it is still quit, very "sound proof", and not much sound from the hall or elevator either. Have a nice stay!
The AC worked, the rooms were nice. Service was very nice. They have a swimming pool, but only while a lifeguard is on duty and you cannot use the room towels. The breakfast was decent. It had a fridge in room.
Stayed here on business, to the usual standard I'm used to but was pleasantly surprised. The staff were engaging and more than helpful, with excellent English. Very basic but very clean which is what matters. Breakfast was basic too but sufficient. Having access to next doors pool definitely sell it. For the money I would recommend, although I would advise hiring a car.
hotel tivoli is a budget hotel, but i am very satisfied after staying in this hotel, peacefull surroundings and not to far from rome.will return for sure.the pool is large and clean.rooms are clean and breakfast is good, staff was very helpfull and friendly.
we booked this online, and arrived at the gate to find the hotel closed... a tiny sign saying "please go next door". we did that and stayed in a hotel straight out of 1975, including the mildew. horrible experience. don't go here. Oh, BTW this hotel is a good 10 KM from Tivoli. it is not in the old town, rather it is down in the valley in a pretty sketchy looking neighborhood... lots of graffiti. I would not feel safe walking around at night around here.
I was going to stay for two nights, and I have given a credit card that their website claimed "it would have been charged ANYWAYS" even in case of no show. When I showed up ate the reception, I was requested to pay AGAIN, as the credit card did not belong to me, it was totally weird as I usually pay all hotels in advance to avoid any issue. The issue this time was that their claims were completely fake and I was requested to pay on the spot, otherwise they would not have given me the room at all, regardless of any prior agreement. I am totally sure there is room for a lawsuit, but since I don't have much time to invest, I preferred to leave a negative feedback instead, hoping I can discourage anyone to use this hotel.
Stayed one night at this hotel. the rooms has been very clean and tide. hotel staff has been very profesional and helpfull. Tivoli is very nice and small town with excellent parks. food is very good .
1- arrival : 2 check in desk, 6 people waiting, 20 min before getting rom key 2- small room, not even a space to open my suitcase. 3- the window has a view on a wall, 1 meter far from the window. Dark and depressing. I guess it's like that for all rooms on level 1 at the back 4- internet not included, 15 Euros per day for a slow connection !!! In 2014 in Europe, internet should be free in hotels 5- I've been twice to the bar, between 7pm and 8pm which I think is peak hours for a bar. The Barmaids are always away or looking at the floor when you want to order drinks. Other guests were complaining as well tonight. 6- Will never come back to this hotel for holiday trip
We just spent one night in this hotel and our room together with another 5 guests were robbed. Guests found tablets, cameras, phones, laptops, etc .. Missing. Hotel management completely ignored us and it was obvious from their CCTV system that they left desk unattended while a group of 4 men stormed the hotel to steal. We filed a police report and asked the hotel management to open an insurance claim. 1 year later and they are still ignoring our emails. Never stay at this hotel - you've been warned.
Stayed one night at this hotel on our road trip, first impression we thought oops, but on entering our room we were pleasantly surprised, nice and clean so no problems. We were told breakfast is next door and we also have use of there pool. What a lovely pool it is and we had it all to ourselves, there was a life guard on duty as well. Our room overlooked the road, which is a busy road but by the time we came back from a lovely restaurant the traffic had ceased so we had a restful night. This restaurant is about 3 miles down the road, go left out of the Tivoli (on second roundabout) the place doesn't look much from the outside but has a nice quite area for eating hidden away from the traffic, great food at reasonable local prices. If the locals eat here than that's good enough for me. The place is called, Trattoria da Totarrello, give it a try. The hotel is a bit dated but for the price... hey ! The pool and the really good breakfast next door in the Grand Duca dEst is the deal clincher. I would definitely return here for a stopover night again.
