I stayed for just one night and am glad that i didnt have to stay longer. The hotel seems grand but dated. The two things which really irritated me, were the shower and the hair dryer. It seems that the shower was added as an afterthought, therefore is fitted in an awkward angle on the side. I kept hitting my elbow all the time against the soap dish attached to the shower pole. You can't turn the showerhead in a direction where there would be more space on the tub, because then you would spray the floor. And the hair dryer- it is not a friendly contraption. I have long hair, so it takes a while to dry. The handle got hot during the drying, had to keep switching hands. Very uncomfortable. Other than that, the room was ok. The bed and pillows were comfortable. I did not try the breakfast, nor TV. Also, i couldn't adjust temperature in the room, it was too warm for me. The thermostat did not function.
Very good hotel within walking distance to the thermal baths in Tivoli and without the strong sulphur smell. Had a wonderful massage in its wellness centre downstairs. Great value for money. Easy access by bus to the lovely Villa D'Este and Villa Grigoriana in the old town of Tivoli up on the hill.
This hotel is located within walking distance from the train station "Bagni di Tivoli" and it is sorrounded by a green area at the outskirts of the village with the same name. Rooms are tidy and not too small. Suites include a pleasant sitting room. Meeeting rooms are of different sizes and can accomodate fairly large parties. Pool is available since Tivoli has been a spa since Roman times. Food is of good quality even if it is not a gourmant restaurant. Staff are kind and cooperative. Overall a good place where to stay overnight or to meet for a couple of days.
A newish hotel starting to look if you look carefully. Room fine but breakfast passed it if you go late. Pool in the cool. Service good and food average if you want to eat in house. Location not a problem if you go by car but there is a problemif you want to go to Rome or Tivoli ... Would go again because it was significantly cheaper than others..........
A newish hotel starting to look a little tired if you look carefully. Room fine but breakfast passed it if you go late. Pool in the restaurant novel. Service good and food average if you want to eat in house. Location not a problem if you go by car but there may be issues if you want to go to Rome or Tivoli itself. Would go again because it was significantly cheaper than others...........but I would be wiser this time.
We were accommodated in Grand Hotel Duca d'Este (Tivoli) during two nights in course of an organized tour to Rome and Campania. The hotel can be considered as of good touristic level. Room is enough spacious, other amenities OK but no tea corner. Meals served in hotel restraunt were of good quality. Work of waiters was perfect.
Above average room and bathroom, helpful staff , but below-average breakfast. Bad location for Roman holiday. It's tour company's preference. If you have luggage you can't take a bus to go Rome. Taxi fare for Duca d'Este- Rome is €50.
Spent two days at the hotel at the end of August.Too far from the city, virtually non-existent internet connection.Eggs and bacon served for breakfast were cold and pastry stale.Only for those seeking just a roof over their head!
The hotel is NOT anywhere near Tivoli. It reminded me of a 1970's leisure centre. The bathroom had seen better days. The receptionists are inattentive, poorly mannered and make you feel like a nuisance. Breakfast was the worst we'd had in Italy. The surrounding area looks like a war zone - across the road from the hotel is a derelict vandalised petrol station. The pool is nice - very quiet. There were no staff other than a pool guard who looked at his phone all day. The photos on the website are patently very old. I suspect that this place will be razed to the ground. It is nowhere near the historic town of Tivoli and its Roman gardens. Do not go
This was our biggest disappointment in our 11 days Italy road-trip. Luckily we only stayed for 1 night. The pictures are not up to date. The whole hotel floor is carpet, and it smells like it has been smoked and they try to cover it with air freshener. Got a head ache of the smell. The beds are so worn out and needs to be replaced asap. The pool area are shared with other hotel, and the pool is not clean. Overall, not worthy of 4 stars, it's a sad old hotel which we do not recommend at all.
