Not a Pleasant Experience

Terrible place to stay. Stay away from this place. The shack is very small, less than 400 sq ft shack. So how can you list it as “sleeps 6”. There is no way 6 people could be comfortable here. I would call it a shack, not a cottage. I can’t in the VRBO limited 1500 characters describe how bad this place is. The place is filthy & hasn’t been thoroughly cleaned in ages. Everything in the place is old & in poor shape. The main full sized bed (supposed to be queen) has a mattress that is only 5 inches thick, has a piece of wood on top of a box spring for a foundation & is extremely uncomfortable. The only way to watch TV is to lay on the bed since the room is only 112 sq ft. The 2nd room is supposed to sleep 4, but is only 112 sq ft. The pull out couch was 4 feet wide & filthy when we opened it. How does that fit 2 people? The kitchen utensils are ancient. The frying pan is disgusting. The shower is outside, which we knew when we booked, but is only 6’1” high. There are big ants everywhere in the cottage. The windows are small & supply very little ventilation. Because the cottage is in the sun all day the inside temp. is 8-10 degrees hotter inside than out (80-92 degrees in the summer). Even with running the 2 fans,sleeping temps. were 75-83 inside & very uncomfortable. The only good thing is that Onset is a great place to visit. The cottage is in a nice location close to the beach & downtown. You might think it’s an exaggeration. I assure you nothing here is exaggerated.
