Very good base to visit the City of Culture. It is ideally placed only 15 mins drive to the city centre but ideally placed if coming from out of town via the A63. They have a huge secure car park and you are near a Waitrose supermarket where there is a bus stop to take you into the city. Hotel facilities are very good indeed a lovely bar, pool and restaurant area. The room was very clean and modern , the bathroom could do with updating but regardless it was spotless which is more important. Breakfast was very good too, the staff very friendly too and service good. A good choice of hotel !
We stayed here whilst attending a wedding nearby. It was a good location for where we needed to be and it was very easy to find, well located near to amenities. Check in was great, quick and fuss free, our rooms were ready immediately. The rooms themselves were very tired looking. The bed was comfortable which was a big plus, there was also an iron and ironing board which came in handy and the iron worked well for a hotel room iron. The room was ok for what we needed, we weren't there to spend more than a few hours in the room. The bathroom was probably the biggest let down. There were damaged tiles and it looked as though it was well overdue an update. All in all it did what we needed but I think it is time for a redecoration of the rooms.
I stayed here with friends as part of a National Holidays trip. The staff were, without exception, helpful, friendly and professional; the dining room staff deserve particular mention. The food was very good. Our rooms were clean and fresh, smelling of new carpets, and well equipped. I appreciated the free wifi. Unfortunately, there was loud music from a wedding party going on well into the small hours, which made sleep very difficult. Even after the music finally stopped, the wedding party carried on in the gardens. I would happily visit this hotel again, and enjoyed most aspects of it. Perhaps the noise from the function is just a summer weekend thing? I would look forward to trying out the swimming pool next time, as it looked very appealing.
Stayed st this hotel Sunday to Tuesday lovely hotel staff very friendly the food was ok just average nothing special My main concern was the lack of storage in the room we had the privilege suit.when I go away to stay in a hotel I like to feel at home and that is emptying my case and putting things away but I couldn't do that there wasn't one single drawer in the whole suite the wardrobe was a very small area behind the back of the mirror that you could only fit a couple of coats there was nowhere to store toiletries or underwear so we had to live out of our suitcases and at £207 for 2 nights I don't think this is acceptable
I would like to thank Lauren for arranging my tickets for "an evening with Gazaa" . She was very helpful and understanding while I was waiting for someone to contact me regarding another ticket . Lauren reassured me that these tickets would be set aside and I wouldn't miss out. I have received a conformation email and I am looking forward to this evening very much. Thanks again Lauren
We came here for dinner in the context of a professional gathering. It was all very nice and professionally organized. The food was nice and the room pleasant enough. All in all everything was as expected from a place of this sort.
Room was perfect, staff were amazing (truly excellent) and breakfast OK (but not as good as Premier Inn), but hotel was quite far from city centre. Evening meal was not of the quality I expected from a French chain of hotels. What a pity reconstituted chicken is so popular in UK! There is an over-reliance on quantity, rather than quality.
Spacious areas & rooms with spa/pool at outskirts of city. Staff very pleasant & well trained. Breakfast good. Plenty of parking with frequent buses into centre. Sadly, I did not get a decent night's sleep during my stay. Room insulation exceptionally poor with ALL noises passing through the walls. Room doors had tendency to slam shut so late arrivals & early departures would interrupt sleep.
The staff were generally pleasant and the bed comfortable. The bar was badly stocked and erratically serviced. The bill when it arrived was horribly wrong and it too a fair amount of effort on my part to have it corrected. Hull is great but I would never use this hotel again.
I stayed for one short night on business and these were some good and not quite so good elements. The receptionist and restaurant staff were helpful, friendly and personable. I ate a dessert in the restaurant which was delicious. The room refurbishments are quite stylish in greys and muted colours. However the bed and pillows were extremely hard which, for me, was not sleep inducing. The room felt hot and airless even with the window open. I would so appreciate a desk and lamp to work at and cannot be the only one with emails to read and write in the evening when away on work business. Having a tiny desk under the TV did not quite suffice. Breakfast was fine and fast with plenty of fresh fruit. Being completely self service (even the tea and coffee by the cup) keeps you fit as you bob up and down constantly. So, great to get a smile and good service and if you like a firm bed. if I return I will bring my own pillow and laptop tray. Oh and it is next to Waitrose if you want to pick up anything.... that's convenient.
