Excellent breakfast both continental and cooked beautifully to order with friendly and quick service. Dinner in the restaurant was also very good. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. Good shower. The place was very popular with locals so parking was a bit awkward, we arrived after 6pm and there wasn’t much room to park. Maybe one criticism would be there isn’t reserve parking for staying guests and after travelling 140 odd miles and to be faced with hunting a parking space was as I said a little awkward. But that shouldn’t take away from what was a nice place to visit great food and a generous breakfast, clean room comfy bed.

Lovely staff and a nice room but the bathroom was freezing and the heating gets switched off overnight so the room was really cold first thing in the morning. Dinner was lovely and breakfast was OK. I would definitely stay again but perhaps not in winter as it was quite uncomfortable waking up cold (and I don’t struggle with cooler temperatures).

The staff were great. The room was stone cold and even with the radiator control in the room, it took over 2hrs to even start to warm slightly. Obviously centrally controlled as it went off again in the night and was freezing again when the alarm went off. Food was OK and the rating of a 9 online is overrated. 7.5 would be a fairer score. Certainly not terrible but not particularly welcoming stay either.

Definitely not a 4 star property. It was decent but not great. It is the only place I've ever stayed where the wifi signal doesn't even reach the 2nd floor - we couldn't use it at all. The floor squeaked and creaked with every step. I understand that it's an older building but it wasn't ideal.
