The good the bad and the ugly!
The good...
A great location close to Durham and with quiet walks right from the doorstep.
A compact cottage with some nice attention to detail.
Great panoramic views at the rear.
The bad...
Trying to get the postcode and key code was a nightmare on the morning of departure from our home. This involved numerous lengthy phone calls.
The listing had conflicting statements regarding pets. Twice it mentions no pets with only service animals permitted and once "furry friends welcome" However there was a dog bed, dog bowls dog biscuits, all in the cottage.
We were unable to park outside the cottage over the weekend and had to park down the road away from the property.
Bath towels provided but only one hand towel.
Some dishes, a saucepan and freezer drawers were not clean.
The ugly...
On the first night I trod on a very large big toe nail beside the bed, then saw
half a dozen more. We had to hoover the bedroom carpet before getting into bed! It did not feel clean after this.
The back grass and dandelions were very long which made negotiating the areas of dog poo difficult to get to the patio table at the bottom of the garden.
This could so easily have had a 10/10 it just needed a more accurate representation of the listing and been given the "deep clean" as advertised.
