Owners spoil what could be a nice stay
Readers, read this to the end as it contains a balanced review that you will want to consider before booking.
We stayed at the Coach house for two nights. It's a in a good location with an excellent COOP (market) just a few doors down.
A nice albeit getting old property whose kitchen is well equipped and shower is excellent. The bed is comfortable and overall the property is clean and cozy (it's quite small). Be careful up and down the very narrow stairs to the bedroom. Not much room except for a bed so we had to unpack downstairs - the tv is about as old as my gran. Owners conrol the temperature and you have to text them and specify a temp to change it. I asked to 72 degrees and to be fair, Bob nailed it, but really?
Interacting with the owners (particularly) Agnes gave me the impression they weren't really into hosting. Wouldn't give us a one hour extension on our day of departure and instead strutted outside the property chomping at the bit to go somewhere. In the rush or scrambling to get out, we broke a teapot handle (sorry) and apparently we left some teabags somewhere in the trashcan, soap bits in the shower and a tea stain. We were charged an additional 68 pounds for those indiscretions. It was our fault, but I feel it a bit harsh for the cleaning. Er well. Would I stay again. I will if Bob remarries a nicer person.
