My husband and I have just returned from an outstanding one night stay at Cromlix Hotel. To say we were blown away by the welcome, and the friendliness of staff, is an understatement. This is even more impressive as we had a little spaniel puppy in tow! The puppy was genuinely welcomed, as were us ‘humans’, by incredibly caring staff. There is no pretentiousness, just world class unobtrusive service. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed the pleasure of very slick room service, so as not to leave the puppy alone, and the food was delicious. We both had the fish and chips which were delivered piping hot to our room, complete with a ‘mobile dining table’, (brilliant!), and the portions were very generous. This is truly a magical place to stay. With or without a pooch in tow! Thank you to all the staff, who we had the absolute pleasure of interacting with. You know who you are :-) ❤️ Please don’t hesitate to book.
Loved everything about it! Take a nice walk around the grounds! Excellent renovation - loved the Spa Junior Suite after 3 nights aboard the Royal Scotsman Train appreciated the large space & steam shower!
Fantastic hotel that hosted me and my dog ( and parrot !) for a lovely weekend. I feel very qualified to pass this opinion in that over my working life I’ve stayed in some of the so called best ... including the fabled Beverly Hills and Bel Air in Los Angeles , Oriental in Bangkok , Mauna Kea and Mandarin Oriental Kahala in Hawaii . Closer to home many stays at the Savoy and Ritz in London . Cromlix easily tops the lot in food , service and general ambience but with no pretention or unnecessary formality. Quite an achievement in a hotel of this class and luxury . The accommodation is sumptuously comfortable and the restaurant is outstanding . The food is just about the best I’ve ever tasted . Don’t take my word for it ... go see yourself ... you will not be disappointed. The grounds are also so relaxing and full of beauty and nature ... there is even a loch hidden away about 10 minutes walk from the front door . As for the service , it’s spot on ... just the right balance of nothing is too much trouble but none of it in any way fussy or intrusive. The result a welcoming , relaxing and extremely comfortable vibe throughout the hotel . In many ways feels like a stunning family home. Special thanks must be given for help and great service from Lee on reception , Lauren ( restaurant manager ) , Stephen ( front of house ) and Kenny ( night porter ) And not forgetting the lady chef in the kitchen who went out of her way at 6am to respond to my request to prepare some nice food for my little dog with no fuss and just like it was nothing unusual . So put it on your bucket list of hotels you must visit and make absolutely sure you tick it off . You will not be disappointed. Scotland now has a world class gem . Well worth the effort to visit from wherever you are in the world .
Have just returned from an afternoon tea here. What a lovely place. The area we had was in a lovely lounge with great comfy sofas and chairs. The tea itself was delicious, we had Earl Grey but choices were also for other blends of tea. The helpings were plentiful The selection of cakes and sandwiches were amazing and very tasty. We couldn’t eat it all but got to take what we couldn’t eat home. This is a super experience and the house itself is beautiful!! I’d definitely go again for sure !!
We stayed two nights at Cromlix and the highlight of our stay had to be the very professional, efficient and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. Cromlix is a lovely old house and the only thing preventing a five star review is that we felt that some aspects of the place were starting to look a little tired and in need of renovation. For example, some of the carpets had small marks and stains and the paintwork in places was a bit worn. Everywhere was however clean and housekeeping of the bedrooms was excellent. We loved the bed turn down service with chocolates and slippers set out. Such was the pampering we almost felt we might be tucked in for the night. Cromlix does not have many facilities other than the tennis court, games room and well kept garden and for the price this seemed a little lacking. The breakfast whilst perfectly adequate was not quite up to the standard of the Chez Roux restaurant where it is served. Overall we found Cromlix charming for a short stay.
John and I had a wonderful afternoon and evening at Cromlix House Hotel, yesterday, celebrating 25 years together. We booked a large double, imagining just an ensuite room; but when we got to the 'room', it turned out to be a large private area with a corridor/dressing area, off of which came a large bedroom with lovely views, to one side, and a bathroom and toilet to the other - lots of space! We were very taken with the place - we loved the gorgeous cocktail bar, and of course the food in the restaurant was superb! After dinner we wandered into the drawing room where a delightful harpist was playing. Throughout our stay, the staff were friendly and very attentive without being obsequious. Pricey, but a definite returner for us.
We highly recommend The Cromlix. The staff were totally professional and extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. The room was perfect with fabulous Egyptian cotton bedding. The restaurant is an experience not to be missed. This is a fabulous venue.
Visited here for lunch today and it is an amazing place. We were welcomed as we walked up from the car park and offered a seat in the glorious sunshine overlooking the croquet pitch. The service from the outset was fantastic and we enjoyed complimentary canapés as we enjoyed a cool drink. Once our food was ready we were invited into the conservatory where the amazing standards of attention and service continued. The food was excellent and the atmosphere relaxed. The food is prepared in the open kitchen at the rear of the room however this does not interfere with the tranquil feel of the place. Once we had lunch we had a look around the hotel and grounds which are all of the highest standard. Our first time at Cromlix but definitely not our last.
Well this is the Andy Murray centre of Dunblane. its a lovely hotel, the rooms are very comfy with all the soaps/shampoos/fluffy towels etc that come with a top hotel. The rooms are quirky, the building is a strange layout and they do vary a lot in size and shape, but ours was lovely. The lounge areas are so comfy and welcoming....only odd thing to me as the restaurant and bar. Suddenly you are plunged into a very modern world, that bears no resemblance to the hotel at all and is super modern. Not sure that I personally liked that but if you dont mind the modern diner style feel to it..then I can assure you the food is just delicious and great great service.
Afternoon tea on a wonderful sunny afternoon. The whole expererience, from the drive along the estate to the welcome in the car park was lovely. We had our tea in the drawing room. A wee bit warm, but a short sharp shower of rain cleared the air and cooled the room down. Service was unobtrusive and warm. The savouries and cakes delicious. We were welcome to take a look around ... the chapel and kitchen gardens are super.
