.The Gables Hotel was really nice and the staff was excellent, the position was very good for visiting the outlet centre and the Blacksmiths shop. Marks and Spencer Outlet was excellent. The Breakfast could have been better but overall i would recommend the Hotel.
I enjoyed my stay. Close proximity to the outlet but a bit tired . Our room overlooked a caravan yard so not too nice.the decor was dull but the bed was comfy. The food was good and ample parking. Staff were nice but the whole place is in need of a facelift.
Location is lovely, and the outside of the building is beautiful . Staff very welcoming and very well trained. Was also made aware while chatting with them that several of them are family, which is nice to know! Unfortunately the rooms are a bit tired with old fashioned decor - the pictures on the walls match those that my gran had! Our room could really do with a lick of paint (or a good scrub!) as the walls were quite grubby with handprints and tea splashes etc. It's was also mouldy around all the sealant in bathroom and windows. Curtains and carpet were dirty, and there were things left in the wardrobe from the previous guest. I noted all this in the feedback form so hopefully they'll continue to improve. Dinner was lovely and the atmosphere in the restaurant and bar was very welcoming and friendly. Bar in particular has a lovely country feel too it - I imagine it's hard to leave when the fireplace is on! Would love to return if we happen to hear of a refurb happening with the rooms anytime.
We had a 1 night stay and a meal for after our wedding at Gretna and it couldn't have been any better. We thought we were just booking a table in the restaurant, however on arrival the hotel had set a wedding table up for the 6 of us, complete with bride and groom chairs and cake stand and knife for us, and in our own private room! no extra cost. The bedroom was lovely, spacious and comfy and the breakfast food available was vast. The service and food were amazing and we are already looking forward to a revisit at some stage.
Very courteous & speedy check-in. Room, on ground floor, very comfortable. Water in bathroom & shower very hot (not a criticism). Very nice 2 course meal - prawns & avocado followed by lamb with garlic (VERY) mash & veg. Portions were huge. Comfortable lounge bar. Breakfast very good. Ample parking. Would recommend.
Very nice hotel staff were friendly, service was excellent, the food was delicious especially the whale like proportions of the fish and chips served on a platter made of slate, no matter where we stay we always compare the food to the Gables in Gretna . Treat yourself to a round of sandwiches , ham and mustard absolutely wonderful.
my husband and I have stayed at The Gables several times over the years and always had a great stay this time was no exception . The customer service from all members of staff is second to none . We had a dinner bandb deal that was FABULOUS value . Great room lovely dinner and a great set you up for the day breakfast Can't wait to come back
We booked this hotel on a groupon deal for a shopping trip. Didn't expect much for the price but were very pleasantly surprised particularly by the staff. All of the staff we encountered were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, dinner also very pleasant and the room was comfortable and quiet. Would definitely recommend the hotel.
Got married on the 28th February, among all the crazy snow. Staff were fantastic all through my few days there, changed rooms very quickly last minute when it became clear that some of my guests couldn't access the original room due to large wheelchairs, and they were very accommodating regarding last minute details and changes! Wedding meal was absolutely fantastic, snow made for some amazing photos, rooms were very good considering the low budget we gave ourselves! Definitely recommend!
we stayed at the Gables hotel one night as part of a shopping/sight seeing trip to Gretna, i would recommend the place, good rooms, excellent food and very friendly staff. You can get excellent evening meal deals which i would recommend because of the food quality which is of an high standard.
