Stayed here a couple of nights while visiting an expo in Cologne, for me perfect location being no more than 2-3 minutes walk to the train station, so it's very easy to find! It doesn't pretend it's 5-star luxury, but for what you're paying here it's functional, good sized room for a single, plenty of storage space for a few days with a private bathroom with shower. Only downsides were no tea or coffee facilities in the room, only one pillow & the bed was a little on the stiff side for me but if I'm being honest I've paid more for worse. Could do with an update though, it looks like it's been a while since it was last done, a little 80's in appearance - not to mention a key rather than keycard! Would add a little more value and make it a more appealing business option. Also it can get a bit loud, if you're a light sleeper this would be a problem, but again, I've been in much worse! Staff were pleasant enough, I'd suggest more so than other experiences with customer facing staff, again function over style. Can't say fairer than this, if I was attending the same event again I'd book this hotel without much thought, would I have a romantic getaway here no, but for a place to crash after a convention, sure it works.
Recently stayed here as two of our party were competing in the Düsseldorf Marathon, in total there were 9 of us so price was the most important factor, negative points, very very busy and noisy location, not in the best area of town, basic accommodation, no bar area and definitely needs a refurb.....plus points, friendly reception staff, rooms cleaned daily with fresh clean towels provided, comfy beds and decent shower. For the money we paid it was reasonably ok and good value overall, fab coffee shop and brewery less than 5 mins walk away, 20 mins to Allstadt.
Nice and clean. Good stay for mid range small hotel. Staff are not extremely friendly, but its same in entire Germany, so wasn't there much to expect anyway. Hotel is not really quiet . Looks like its a spot for all the stags and hens, and carnival parties on weekends. It turns very loud. Dining area is small , but nice offer . WiFI is not good, but serves the purpose.
I don't know what to say. At the time of my stay they had a big medical exhibition in town and the room prices were sky-high. There should be a limit what the hotels can charge. The room was too hot, loud, bathroom from the late 70's, a small color TV with a remote controller though. The location is good for a train traveler.
We spent a couple of nights here for the Christmas markets. Location is great and very well positioned for the markets, close to the train station (we got the train to Koln one day) and tram stop is right outside hotel. Room was comfy, thought I wouldn't sleep well with the trams, but I slept very well. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Booked in for long weekend for Christmas Markets. Hotel is basic and clean, however the description of the room being soundproof was very exaggerated. Just by luck I carry ear plugs, two pairs needed for a nights sleep for myself and partner. Trains traffic and people returning from the bars could keep you up all night long. Hotel is very central however with it being a budget hotel that is also it's down fall with noise.
There's nothing to complain about, clean bedding, attentive staff, room cleaned everyday, great transport links. It just lacks modernisation, the furniture, wall paper and curtains are a bit worn, the beds are a bit too firm for me too. So there's no complaints. The area immediately around is a bit seedy with peep shows & sexy shops but we never had any bother coming home at night (2 females). We never ate breakfast in the hotel as there's cheaper outside. However the price of this hotels room rates were very good compared to similar ones around.
The hotel was nice and clean and rooms were relatively comfortable although basic. The staff were very good and very helpful with good advice on where to go. The hotel is just over 5 minutes walk from the main train station which was handy for heading to Monchengladbach for the day. The city centre is around 15 to 20 minutes walk, although there were some nice bars and places to eat close to the hotel.
Noise, not too clean, poor equipped hotel... Average breakfast, but quite ok was the best thing in my stay in this hotel. I can not to say anything extraordinary, except problem with checking - in...,
Absolutely awful. Tired hotel in need of a complete refit. Not entirely sure how this has managed to retain a three star rating. The room I was given was tiny and smelly and the shower room full of mildew. Adjacent rooms were noisy even after midnight. The pictures on booking.com are not a true representation of what you'll get so be warned. The only redeeming thing was its proximity to the station.
