Location is good & room prices are far lower than the Grand Villa Argentina the sister hotel you share facilities with including check in, reception all meals and amenities. The only very big consideration is the walk up hill & then stairs to climb. Which if your fit and able isn’t an issue. However with no lifts it could limit some individuals . The hotel is 10-15 min walk uphill from the old town with its beautiful backdrops-restaurants, port area and historic vistas. Good friendly, welcoming staff who looked after us very well. The salt water pool outdoor (there is also an indoor one) is located right on the to the terrace - allowing direct access to the Adriatic which we enjoyed swimming in far more than the pool. We had good buffet breakfasts in the main hotel and reasonably priced snack/ light meals in one of the bar areas.
This is really part of the Villa Argentina, across a road, but with access to all amenities. The decor is heavy and old fashioned, but the rooms are very comfortable. The price difference makes it a worthwhile option. A few of the rooms have good views, but most rooms have limited vistas, and ours had an unrivalled view of a wall. If we stood on a chair and leaned out of the window, we had a view of the sea and a small part of the old town. There is no separate reception, so one must use the main one. Sadly, the only poor staff are those on reception.
Easily one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. The staff was extremely helpful and they go out of their way to make sure our stay was amazing. On arrival, we were given a beautiful room in Villa Glavic on the first floor. However, when they found out that my wife didn't like how she could hear people outside chatting on the first floor, they immediately offered us an upgrade to Villa Orsula with stunning views of the Adriatic and Dubrovnik. The rooms were extremely comfortable and they gave us free water and snacks everyday. Rooms were clean and the bathrooms were amazing. Most of the amenities and breakfast is located at hotel Argentina and the huge selection of dishes and service was amazing. Reception was all amazing, Antonia was helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pool and the views are amazing. The hotel is only a short 10 minute walk to Ploce gate and they provided free umbrellas for us to use as it rained a few days while we were there. We already recommended this hotel to our relatives who will be visiting Dubrovnik soon.
On arrival we were allocated two beautiful rooms in Villa Glavic both with a large balcony giving us stunning views of the Adriatic and Dubrovnik. The rooms were immaculately presented being very comfortable and quiet having a larger than average bathroom - first impressions were very good! We enjoyed breakfast on the lovely terrace in the hotel Argentina opposite and the choice of dishes and service was fantastic with fresh food being served continually whatever time you arrived. The reception staff especially Julia were all very friendly and helpful with nothing being too much trouble. We have been away for a several city breaks over the years and feel this hotel is definitely one of the best and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone visiting Dubrovnik.
My daughter and I stayed at Villa Glavic, we had a ground floor room at the front, very quiet. We only used the hotel ax a base to see as much as we could of Dubrovnic, room was comfortable. And more than adequate for our needs. Breakfast in the main hotel had an excellent choice of food , even spoilt us with prosecco for breakfast.only a short walk into the town and the slight incline on the return journey was hardly noticeable. Would love to go back
Hotel is annexe to Hotel Villa Argentina which is very luxurious which is excellent for meals and as we were there on a sightseeing holiday, it was sufficient as a base. Although our room was classed as ground floor, we had a flight of steps to climb from the road. The room was comfortable but our view from the only window was a wall. All the staff we met were very pleasant and helpful.
We recieved rooms in 2nd and on 3rd floor. The first one had a balcony, the other not (it had a small window), which was very dissappointing, beacuse the price was the same. The rooms were small, and you had to overcome quite a lot of stairs to get to rooms. Overall we weren't pleased. The breakfast in the Villa Argentina was very poor(as you would expect in 3* hotel) and certanily not what it should be. The best thing this hotel has is the view and the location.
Recently had joy of staying at Villa Glavic and loved every moment. Room was wall facing but this helped keep the room cool and air conditioning was spot on. Breakfast over in main hotel was good and we did partake of a glass of prosecco, why not! Our favourite was the big comfy couches on the terrace overlooking the crew, Lockrum Island and Old Dubrovnik. Location was excellent for us, yes it's a good walk but we enjoyed it and stopped at wee supermarket for an ice lolly on way back. Only thing I missed was tea/ coffee facilities in our room, if we had that it would have been perfect. We're already looking to see when we can go back.
This is a classic for Croatia- everything is overpriced and often sub optimal quality. The hotel is fine, especially the pool area and access to the sea. And let's be clear: this is what you are paying for. Hotel rooms decoration are a bit dated (but very clean), the restaurants (especially the pool bar) is outrageously expensive and not very good. Be aware that the villa glavic has no elevator and some rooms are located on the third floor. To end with a positive note: the service is attentive and very nice
One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in over the years and we are only one day into a weeks holiday here in Dubrovnik. Rooms well appointed with good air con, breakfast patio overlooking old town and castle and serving a great variety of hot and cold food.
