Being on the water just a few hundred meters from the old town, the views are impressive. We were upgraded to an executive suite which was spacious with balcony views of old town. Its an easy walk to the old city. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The breakfast buffet is one of the best that we have encountered. Eggs cooked to order and lots of choices. The bed is particularly comfortable and I want to steal their pillows.
This luxurious hotel was just perfect, located close to the old town, by the beach and with a stunning view. The hotel itself was really modern, we liked the style and the staff was very nice and helpful. The bar on the terrace was magic especially during sunset. We had a good time at the restaurant, we enjoyed the food but for the prices it was not what we expected, an improvement on the taste is needed for a five star hotel... a bit disappointed but service was perfect so it balanced! This place is one of the best in Dubrovnik, we recommend it!
This hotel is in the perfect location, just a 10 minute walk to the old Town. We actually stayed here twice during the same trip as our itinerary took us to Split, Montenegro, then back to Dubrovnik. Now, the return trip to Dubrovnik, we did not have reservations and wanted to leave that open, just in case, but nope, we were not disappointed and booked immediately the return trip. I don't recommend this during their "high season" as this hotel is generally booked. Our room was an executive suite with ocean view and a spectacular view of the old town. The food and service here was amazing and the staff always had a smile and kind word when interacting. The hotel is just a short walk to the old Town, it was great to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It boasts an amazing terrace area where the food and drinks were well served and you can relax in a comfortable atmosphere to wind down, or, wind up your day. This place gets a 10 of 10 from us as we really enjoyed our experience here.
After looking at several options for first rate hotel stays in Dubrovnik, I trusted my instincts and decided on the Hotel Excelsior. It was truly one of the best decisions we made for our trip in Croatia. We stayed in the Villa part of the hotel which was roomier but slightly older than the modern main hotel,- this was the better choice. We got a 1 bedroom villa with a stunning view of the Adriatic. The rooms were large and meticulously clean. The beach was private and a perfect location to look at Old Town and to relax and hear the waves. The walk to Old Town is about 15 minutes. Everything was so easily accessible in this location. The breakfasts were varied, delicious and plentiful. The service was remarkable with all staff being very kind and helpful. We loved our stay here - it was an amazing experience.
Beautiful hotel just outside the walled city. Wonderful breakfast buffet every day with an omelette station, fresh fruit, pastry. There is a nice indoor pool, a patio right on the water with a swimming area and a full service spa. The rooms are spacious, but our room had a HUGE black 4'x4' square column that was right at the end of the bed and obstructed the view out of the large window. TV stations are limited, but you're not there for that. Front desk was very friendly and helpful.
This hotel is perfect - maximum 10 min walk to Old Town, gorgeous rooms with lovely bedding and views, great bathroom with excellent product, very nice service, fabulous view of the sea, beautiful sunset views. You have to take advantage of the proximity to the sea and go for a swim. I don't normally have things laundered but I did here and they were returned pressed impeccably. This hotel sets the bar on a whole new level. I can't wait to return.
Stay here because life is short and when touring all day you need a place to chill. In Dubrovnik this is the place. Located on the Adriatic Sea and five minutes from Old Town, the Excelsior features an Olympic size indoor pool, steam room, sauna, whirlpool and small spa. There in an outdoor deck with service available. We were upgraded to an amazing corner suite with nice balcony overlooking the area and Old Town. Very spacious and modern. Breakfast is served in its own restaurant each morning with decent buffet and made to order items. Nice outdoor deck in season. Fine restaurant and lounge takes up an entire floor and very relaxing. Piano player, outdoor seating in season. Restaurant very good with typical Croatian Med menu selections. Nice open kitchen. Note: Drinks in Croatia are measured .03g and very small indeed. Local wine best value. Overall excellent property and location can’t be beat.
We stayed at the Excelsior for two nights in late September. The location is excellent; only a 10 minute walk to the city gates, yet far away to retreat from the mayhem and enjoy a swim and a cocktail. Our room was roomy and beautiful and overlooked the city. I was a bit concerned about the noise from the outside bar below, but the windows were well insulated, and the music stopped at a reasonable hour (this was in September), vital if you're jetlagged. Staff was attentive without being overbearing; breakfast was fantastic! Take the time to sit outside and enjoy a cocktail while the lights come on over the city. It's magical! We didn't eat at any of the restaurants because there wasn't a table available when we walked in, so plan accordingly.
Ten minute walk from the old town, yet a world away. Quiet and elegantly appointed throughout, this hotel was a delight. The room was richly furnished with every amenity provided. We loved the lavish breakfasts and the egg white and truffle omelette was a favourite. Evening drinks on the terrace are a must do, watching the sun dip into the Adriatic.
We absolutely loved our three night stay at Hotel Excelsior. The view of the old city and out to the sea and the island in front of the hotel just blows you away. Everything about the hotel was just wonderful from an amazing breakfast to gorgeous facilities (especially the indoor huge pool and spa and the outside loungers) and roof top bars and restaurants. it was also really special to eat breakfast outside over looking the sea. Overall, it completely surpassed expectations. I’d recommend hotel transfer from airport, just made everything so easy and relaxed. It was lovely to be able to jump and dive into the sea from the lounger area outside. Such clean and clear water. Thank you for making our stay here so special.
