Great hotel, great place to experience Croatia. Cavtat has some great restaurants and bars. Food - great Room - great Location - great Swimming experience - great All in all, a great place to stay and go back to!

I didn’t think any location would surprise me or delight me after what we’ve seen over the last 2 weeks in Croatia but this place sure did! It is truly extraordinary!!! We got an upgrade in our room, a sea view! Terrific!!! The hotel is steps away from the harbor. The hotel even provides free “buggy” rides up and down the hill to get to the promenade. (It is actually a golf cart). The breakfasts are delicious and the staff all very welcoming and helpful. The location is beautiful beyond words. So very very glad we selected this location when visiting Dubrovnik. There are water taxis in the harbor that take you direct to Old Town Dubrovnik and they run hourly. So convenient!!! My photos show both the hotel and Cavtat Harbor.

A really classy hotel with decent food and lovely pools. The rooms are large and spacious (nice touches with robes and slippers, free safes and nice smellies in the bathroom.) The drinks though are prohibitively expensive (think London prices) and there is no entertainment apart from 'gentle' music in a staid piano bar. Not a place to go to party. Or dance. A good selection of films are available - at a cost. However, the views over to Cavtat are to die for.

Stayed 2 nights here after visiting Dubrovnik. The hotel is in a great location overlooking the bay, with a quaint promenade. Service is good, breakfast and dinner buffet were fresh and delicious with a wide variety of choices. There are some facilities like pool and sauna but didn’t have the time to use it. Room was reasonable in size, bed is comfy and bathroom is modern and clean. Needed some ladies supplies upon checking out but the shop is not opened yet. Was grateful that the front desk staff offered me with the supplies, so thank you for going the extra mile. Highly recommended if you are looking for a place to relax and soak in the scenery.

Great 5 star hotel and nice water front view. Also, the breakfast buffet and dinner is great. Highly recommended when visiting Dubrovnik. Our room had a birds eye view of the bay. Also, walking distance to Cavtat Old town and promenade.

We stayed at this hotel for the location of Cavtat and easy access into Dubrovnik. The hotel croatia is a great hotel, spotlessly clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a classic room with a balcony which was fine as this break was for exploring surrounding areas not spending alot of time in the room, but if you want a view..pay the extra or you will be looking out over plants and trees!! The only negative about the hotel is the food is not great, we stayed half board but only ate here once as the choice of restaurants in Cavtat is superb and very reasonable. We did turn up for breakfast but it was just ok, you get the selection of normal Buffett food but it's just ok nothing to write home about. We would almost certainly return although I would say the hotel does attract an older element of clientele in general. The hotel gives access into Cavtat by alot of steps down to the ground level which is great as then it's a five min walk into the centre of Cavtat, walking back up the steps you will probably need an oxygen mask but hey ho it burns the calories for sure!! A return water taxi into Dubrovnik is 100 Kunar (approx £12) and they are fairly regular with the express one taking 20mins with fabulous views of the surrounding villages. Overall The Hotel Croatia is highly recommended it is truly breathtaking sitting out on the hotels terrace with wonderful views.

We checked in 23/04/2019 for one week. Ten minutes taxi from airport. The hotel is quite old but upgraded to a good standard we both were very happy about the treatment got. The breakfast and dinner were very good, we ended having seven nights' dinner all in the hotel. Great location, excellent staff, very decent spa plenty of space to walk around. Will go back again!

Hotel Croatia is one of the best you can get anywhere.Well located, exceptional rooms with great views either over the sea or across the harbour. Food is excellent, served on a buffet basis with a wide variety of tastes ( I am a non flesh eater as opposed to true vegetarian and have been for 60+ years, but do appreciate the variety of food available to those who are not of my persuasion ). Cavtat is a remarkable resort - a bit like an Adriatic Lake District - so much to see and experience. Only a short ferry ride from Dubrovnic which is well worth the visit.A relaxing time to recharge the batteries.

Just back from the Hotel Croatia,After a week's Stay. This Hotel is "MASSIVE" The rooms are lovely, Especially the sea view ones. The Staff are so, so friendly, the food is buffet style and plentiful, some nice choices on offer. The Hotel has other Restaurants in its Grounds, Which are lovely. The walk down to Cavtat Town centre is 10mins. But coming back up is a challenge, too say the least. But the hotel provides golf buggies driven by the staff too pick you up and drop you off. Fantastic range of eating places, but do try the wooden type bar you first pass, Absolutely Brilliant Atmosphere in it, looks ramshackle, but it's amazing. Take the ferry boat into Dubrovnik, about £9 return and worth ever penny. Overall a fabulous place, and I can't wait to go back, and soon.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our week's cruise on 30th May. From the moment we arrived to the time we left we were very impressed, not just with the hotel but with all of the staff. Everybody was friendly, helpful and so efficient. We were fortunate to be allocated room 860 which had partial sea and bay views through the trees. So calming. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary during our holiday and the Hotel left a welcoming complimentary bottle of bubbles in our room for us to enjoy. What a lovely gesture. Our room was more than adequate, with plenty of storage, as well as all of the modern benefits of a 5-star hotel including a safe, fridge (with mini-bar which we didn't use), tea/coffee making facilities, a variety of towels and not forgetting the use of a bathrobe and slippers! The toiletries provided were also first class. All of the furniture was of a high standard and so comfortable. An additional touch was the complimentary chocolates left in your bedroom at night which were absolutely delicious! And that bathroom ... what can I say? There were 2 showers over the bath, one a rain shower and the other a normal one. Just be careful which dial the control is on when you step in!! We were on half-board and definitely could not fault the food - and therefore didn't need to choose one of the other restaurants at the hotel. It was all buffet-style but with a large selection to choose from catering to all tastes. The staff were extremely efficient but very friendly and helpful. They even helped me to expand my very limited vocabulary in their language. For breakfast there was always a wide selection ranging from fresh fruit, salads and cheeses, cereals, assorted dried fruit/nuts, fresh pastries, various types of bread and rolls, to more traditional hot offerings including omelettes made to order. The staff were continually checking to ensure the trays were kept stocked up, as well as ensuring you had everything you needed on your table. For the evening meal you were really spoilt for choice. There was always two different types of soup, a huge variety of salads and cold meats, plenty of fish and vegetarian options as well as meat, all clearly labelled. The selection for dessert was also varied, ranging from pastries, cakes, hot balaklava, fresh fruit, cream-based puddings to a large choice of ice creams. Needless to say my husband and I ate far more than we originally intended as everything was so tasty! The hotel is quite spread out and although it was very busy when we were there due to a conference taking place you didn't feel cramped. There was always somewhere to sit and relax to take in the lovely views across the bay. There are 2 swimming pools - one indoors and one outside - both of which are kept very clean and with plenty of sunbeds to relax on. Pool towels are provided. There is also a well-equipped gym and a very impressive spa - neither of which we took advantage of but it was nice to know they were there! The hotel is in a lovely position, on the hillside overlooking the bay, but just a 5-minute walk to the village and marina of Cavtat which is very pretty and well worth exploring. We walked quite a bit whilst there (we needed to in view of the good food on offer) and there are various options. You can walk around the coastal promenade which circulates the peninsula to take in the views, or take a short-cut through the village so that you reach the other bay. Cavtat itself has so many different cobbled-stone pathways which meander through the village and you are never far from fabulous views. There are numerous bars, cafes and restaurants dotted around - some on the seafront and others within the back streets - so you have plenty to choose from. Cavtat has a bus station (next to which is the information centre) and so getting around by public transport is no problem. In addition there are many boat trips which can be taken from the marina, including the water taxi to/from Dubrovnik. So much to choose from! The hotel can provide you with plenty of information if you don't want to go to the information centre in Cavtat, as well as arrange trips for you to enjoy. Our 3 days weren't enough but what a fantastic place to finish off our week's cruise. We are so pleased that we chose this hotel and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others - as you can probably gather from this long review! Thanks to everyone at the hotel for making our holiday and wedding anniversary so special. We will be back!

excellent

Couples

Hotel location is superb, one side of the hotel overlooks Cavtat town with mountains in the background and the other overlooks open Adriatic with dramatic views. MAKE SURE YOU BOOK SEA VIEW ROOM. It is worth extra charge. Also, hotel is huge, its built in 70s, so not everything is updated. Staff is excellent, amenities are great, and breakfast is super.

Stayed in this hotel with my wife and a kid in late August 2012. Very well located just 10 min from the airport. Clean and nice rooms with great sea view. Helpfull personel. Food was O'k. A little diversity on breakfast would be a plus. In sum, good deal for the money.
