Arrived late and was famished. They made me a sandwich after the kitchen closed.
Convenient to the airport. In fact, you can walk to and from on sidewalks.
Needed a hotel for a 23 hour layover in Dublin. The Carlton was perfect. Met the free shuttle a short walk from the terminal. Check-in was easy and efficient, room clean with a great comfy bed. No view, but that was totally unimportant to us. Friends picked us up for an evening out and the free car park made that easy for them. Other travelers took short day tours as well. The shuttle returned us to the airport the next day refreshed and ready to go.
We did not get the room that we reserved. It was a makeover conference room and was quite cold. The workout smelled badly of mold or mildew. All through the night we heard hollering and yelling coming from the parking lot which was next to our window.
The room was very clean and quiet. The desk staff were very helpful. The downside is the shuttle service to and from the airport. Since this is an airport hotel, having a reliable shuttle service is a non-negotiable. We stayed coming and going into Dublin, booking one night at each end of our trip. On the first visit, the shuttle driver never showed up for work, so there was no one there to drive our scheduled 4:30 a.m. pickup. The staff came to the rescue by calling several taxis to shuttle the waiting clients. On the second visit, we had confirmed a shuttle for our late arrival. Along with another woman, my husband and I waited almost 45 minutes in the bitter cold while we watched shuttles from several other hotels come and go. We probably will try another hotel next time we need a Dublin airport hotel. The Carlton has to realize that the shuttle service can be a deal breaker at any airport hotel.
Stayed overnight prior to AM departure. It was convenient, clean and comfortable. No complaints at all and it has a 24-hour shuttle to airport.
My husband and I booked this hotel for a 24 hr layover and it was perfect for us, free 24hr shuttle to and from airport. Vary clean and comfortable. Hotel staff was knowledgeable about the Guinness distillery and Temple Bar, called us a cab to take us even though a bus stop is close by. The restaurant at the hotel had vary good food and not crazy expensive. Would definitely recommend this place.
Check in was a dream. Efficient, pleasant, done. Wakeup call and bus to airport scheduled at checkin, and we were done. Room was quiet and comfortable. Great beds. Immaculate bathrooms. All necessities supplied. Great dinner in dining room downstairs. Left early the next morning ready to fly.
We were very pleased during our stay at the Carlton and we really enjoyed the comfort and cleanliness of the room. The staff was pleasant and helpful, although the front desk personnel weren't quite as warm and welcoming as other staff members we met during our visit. The dining room was spacious and the food was very good. We'll surely remember this place if we ever need a hotel in Dublin near the airport again.
The hotel is nice. No argument there. But their restaurant Kittyhawk made me wait 20 minutes to order dinner ( a simple Cesar salad) and another 30 for dinner to actually arrive. For what I paid for the salad there was only half of the amount of food you'd expect. Since there is nowhere else to eat for miles the hotel holds you hostage for meals. No coffee machine in the room. Really. First time in decades I have not had this. Yea its little things but it is an airport hotel and layovers are not always fun. WIll stay elsewhere next time.
Used the hotel before our return from Ireland. It was the most modern and comfortable of our trip.
A bit difficult to find. Don't confuse it with the nearby Clayton Hotel.
Checked in late in the day before flying back to the USA. Had a great experience with both the staff of the hotel and in the quality of the room. I would stay there again. Staff printed out our boarding passes and gave easy instructions for car rental returns. A pleasure. Very close to the airport but the hotel was quiet and comfortable.
The hotel was very nice and had air conditioning. The room was quite comfortable and spacious. The only issue we had was that the shower was stuck on very hot water and we were unable to change it.
Hotel was fine - I only stayed overnight. It was expensive compared with hotels close to other airports but other hotels in the area were also pricey. I paid over $240 CAD by booking online through Orbitz. I think I should have booked directly from the hotel's website as I would have got a better rate. Staff were OK but not overly friendly. Bed was comfortable and I didn't experience any airport noise so had a good sleep.
I enjoyed the nice room but it had no air conditioning. This was a bummer especially since it was hot during the summer.
. Accommodations were first class.. transportation to the airport were quick and easy, ten minites tops.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and corrected a noise problem in a reasonable time. The shuttle is efficient. A cab to downtown is 25 euro and always came with rich conversation with the driver. A good value when you have an early morning flight.
Friendliest staff and top notch on cleanness. Best Airport Hotel we ever stayed in.
We needed a place close to the airport and a shuttle for an early flight. This hotel was perfect for us.
