Pros: * Great service/friendly staff (5 star) * Reasonably-priced, especially for a Dubai beach hotel * Nice Club Lounge (for SPG members or if you pay extra for it) * Gorgeous view if you're on the beach side (although there is a gigantic Ferris Wheel, like the London Eye, being built out on the water which detracts a bit from a "water" view) * Great location. Near beach (including water sports), pedestrian mall (lots of restaurants) and there is a Starbucks and McDonald's across the street * Nice gym with plenty of cardio and good amount of free weights * Quiet rooms Cons: * Shadow from neighboring Double Tree hotel blocks the sun on the beach and pool for part of the day I'm SPG Platinum and so the Club Lounge was free which included a nice hot free breakfast every day. We were on the Club Floor and both of our rooms were very modern (which runs counter to other comments we've seen on TA)
I have just returned from a stay at the Sheraton where I was visiting my son who lives in Dubai. I was with my elderly uncle. We were both made very welcome by all your staff, but I'd like to say a particular thank you to Israel who was lovely and really looked after us during our stay. We very much enjoyed the carol singing throughout our stay, they were amazing and the Christmas lunch in the gardens was amazing. All in all we had a great holiday. My only one criticism was the 'music'/'noise' around the pool. I spoke to many residents during our stay and they all agreed that it was irritating and unnecessary. The pool is set in such lovely peaceful surroundings but was spoilt by the constant pounding coming from the pool bar. I believe if most people want to listen to music, then they would have their own with them.
Had a lovely Christmas Day brunch outside “on the green” with about 150 other guests. The food was magnificent, the entertainment was tight and included a Filipino choir that belted out some carols. Kids were entertained fully also. But the best part was the staff who were relaxed and joyful but at the same time engaged and attentive. Now that makes the difference. Our man for all seasons was Pragesh who I see got credit from another reviewer but he really was on the ball with service. The chef at the vegetarian servery was also a gem, Mahmoud?
I stayed at from 22nd to 27th December, with my husband, son and daughter. We have stayed at several beach resorts in Dubai and the Sheraton is deserving of it's 5 star status. We booked a room only tarrif as we like the freedom to eat in the many fantastic restaurants in the Walk area. The rooms we had, although slightly in need of updating were very pleasant, and scrupulously clean. You are provided with an iron and ironing board, tea and coffee and a mini bar. As it was a family holiday the staff were very helpful getting us rooms close together. We could not fault the staff, they were all pleasant and courteous. We spent most of the day relaxing on the beach, which is just a short stroll through the garden and pool area. There is a short period in the early afternoon where a part of the beach and garden are in shade, due to a very large building, but this is only in the winter months when the sun is low. This did not detract from our enjoyment. There can be a lot of birds around the beach area, attracted by people having food on the beach and leaving leftovers uncovered, again only a minor annoyance. We had a very relaxing Xmas break and have the Sheraton to thank for a great holiday
Amazing service. All members of staff are very friendly incl checkin; concierge; F&B; housekeeping. Kids friendly. Good food. Good private beach. Goof pool. Lifeguard on duty till late. Also, if you need anything to be taken care of; they are just a WhatsApp away #letschat.
Definitely a 'do again brunch! Entertainment was great, food was amazing, and service always prompt and polite, thank you Pragesh for great service! 5/5. The garden setting and views were perfect. Santa arriving and giving all the 'nice' kids gifts. See you next year!
I went with my girl and my motorcycle to Bliss lounge with the intention of have a drink and i obviously parked inside the hotel. After visit Bliss which was totally empty, i decide to go for a walk in JBR and leaving my motorbike inside for a maximum 30 minutes. Security approach me and told me that is not allowed to leave a motorcycle unless you consume in the hotel. I have been explaining politely that i come with the intention of a drink in Bliss, but the place was empty and therefore i will walk to other venues, but i will be back soon and i asked if exceptionally can leave my motorbike there, since the parking was also empty and i occupy a small space. The security since have nothing to do all night and want show his authority thinking that he is a police officer, force me to check other bars or take out the motorbike. My girl decide to see other place in the hotel, in order to may stay. We went to the arabic restaurant and The italian and there was not our style. We then decided to have a walk on the beach and other security again stopped us and said that we cannot leave the motorbike unless we consume or we are guests. At this point i have to admit that even the most calm person would have become a beast, and i asked to speak with the Supervisor. I was almost leaving because pissed off by this non sense rule, when a tall supervisor come and approach in hurry and stop me like i was a criminal putting bombs, again with attitude like they are police, when they are just a simple job like everyone can do it in Dubai. I explained the situation and he again repeated robotically the same phrase, and i explained that i can leave my phone number and i am not a terrorist, there is nothing to worry about my motorbike, since parking was empty. Additionally there is also no way to pay for parking for motorbike. He of course need to show his authority and told me that if i insist he will call police and please dont come back here because this is a managment rules. A this point i promised him that i will never come back and i hope none will ever fill your empty parking + i will leave a bad comment, because of you being a ROBOT that doesnt understand exception or how to treat people whom actually come in Sheraton with the intention to spend a drink in Bliss. I hope that managment will look into it, as this is the honest version of what the problem is: Security robots follow wrong policy about motorcycle parking..
We just stayed at the Sheraton Jumeirah Dubai for one week - 3 nights. Our time at this fantastic hotel was beyond all expectations and the by far the best hotel stay ever! Check-in: We arrived at 5 am and our room was ready. A great treat! Check-in was very smooth with a warm smile. Receptionist Vikas offered a bottle of water and welcome drink, however, chose to have water. Concierge Jimy delivered our bags within 2 minutes. Perfect and personalized experience! Room: Beautiful and big room with fantastic. The bed is very comfortable and gave us a perfect sleep. Cleanliness was on top, Though, rooms furniture are quite old as we came to know that hotel is almost 20 years old, but with friendly staffs with top cleaning service make our holiday memorable. Restaurants and Bar: Used all the three restaurants and we returned as the food was so delicious. The choice is great. Service is of the highest quality - they really care about you. Drinks in the lobby bar were just amazing. Front desk, concierge, bell captain: How do you feel when every time you walk by the reception, everybody greets you. Yes - like a King! All staff in the lobby and outside the hotel do a great great job. Booked a desert safari. Everybody really did everything to let us have a wonderful stay. We will definitely return. Thanks to everybody in the Sheraton for a great time and great vacation!
I was upgraded to a junior suite on platinum. Very spacious and comfortable room. None of these rooms have a balcony which would have been nice a this time of the year. Good breakfast but avoid peak hour around 10 as it is not so large and gets very crowded. I stayed for business, so really did not have time to enjoy the facilities. It has a good beach and large garden, however around midwinter the highrise buildings around give a bit of shadow during the day in a good part of the garden (but not the beach) Nice health club and spa facilities.
I'd say excellent except for few blips, but yes, despite perhaps needing technology refresh this is a lovely hotel; a bit of an oasis really and the right choice. I was offered a sea view upgrade at a reasonable price, and I'm glad I accepted as it makes no sense to stay in a place like this and have a view of buildings. Got a balcony thrown in too; so the room was really a very pleasant place to be, well equipped and with comfortable bed and bath/shower. Grounds are very well looked after and attractive and merge with the public sandy beach. I'm not a great beach/pool person but it's a pleasant environment even if the pool is a tad small. The guard at the hotel garden/public beach area is commendably efficient at stopping riffraff getting into the hotel so don't go out without your room card. Staff are all great, no exception. A few things to note (some could be fixable): For a while in the evening (and morning) it feels like you're in the set of a Hitchcock film; the trees are full of screeching birds. That's OK but throughout the (day) they are after your food and are not afraid of you. The little ones I don't mind but the big ones (crows/rooks/ravens? I'm no ornithologist) could do you some damage so beware of eating outside. In the mornings at 8AM there is a noisy petrol mower/blower operated, but the room blocks out a lot of the noise. However perhaps they could use something a bit quieter? The sea view is enhanced (for me, maybe not for others) by views of cranes and the huge ferris wheel under construction, and you wonder how they are going to put the last bit in. At least one of the lifts has a mind of it's own: it forgets commands from those who press buttons first so you may get a longer trip than you expected. I never worked out how to turn all the lights except the bedside light off so I didn't have to get out of bed to off everything. Got brown tap water the last day. Could have been a result of the odd weather (rain while I was out of town on business). I wonder what guests do (in holiday season) when it's not sunny? There is no point to the existence of this place otherwise. For food (I was not generally impressed: I did not try the breakfasts although I found someone attempted to charge my room for two of them!) there seems to be a kind of background room service/poolside/bar menu that is a bit different from place to place and when I ordered local fish and fries from one of these in the main restaurant (outside, out of buffet hours) I didn't immediately get what I expected, but the waiter diligently sorted this out. Tried the Italian restaurant; I think you should try their specials; the a la carte menu is not exciting to me. I was asked if I was on half-board, other diners seemed to be eating regular Italian food like bruschetta that seemed a lot better. Perhaps try to use that yourself. But actually there a loads of eateries on the sea front to choose from.
