Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers5.0 out of 5.0

Nice hotel that is about 25 minute walk along the creek to The Gold Souk and a 10 minute walk to the transit station. Along the creek there are numerous ferries that can take you to other parts of Dubai. The hotel has a smaller pool, not for laps but more for just lounging in. Gym is very very basic in which yes, there are treadmills, ellipticals and weight assisted machines but lack the free weights and other things that are more commonly seen in gyms. There is a nice tennis court that could be rented out for a small hourly fee and a free ping pong table. Special recognition to house keeping attendant Mesmer who was very nice and attentive to details. Always greeted with a smile and performed his job duties with professionalism and class. Jocelyn in the lounge was a great pleasure as well. I needed some help as i was experiencing some difficulties with a request from work and asked her for some assistance and she came through for me. She is Very nice and sincere and my colleagues would agree as they she left the same impression on them as she did with me. Thanks Jocelyn!
I stayed here for a five-night business trip in November 2017. This was my first stay at this particular hotel and overall I was very impressed. Check-in was great. The woman on duty was friendly and efficient and she offered me a choice of rooms on different floors. She explained all about hotel services, meal times etc. and went out of her way to be as helpful and informative as possible. I was in my room within 10 minutes of walking through the main doors. The room itself was very good with a superb view over the creek. Everything was immaculately clean and well-presented and the bed was very comfortable. There were plenty of wardrobes and cupboards etc. so I had plenty of room for clothes and other stuff. The bathroom and shower were large and well designed. I was less impressed with the air conditioning plant. It was quite noisy, even on the ‘low setting’ and it seemed to have a very slow cooling rate despite the noise. The other problem was the water pressure in the rainfall shower head. Even on full power the water pressure was low and the shower pressure was little more than a trickle. The air con and water pressure were my only issues. Everything else was great. The hotel people were excellent. I was very impressed with the levels of service. Everybody from the woman at check-in to the shuttle driver was polite and courteous and they all made every effort to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I ate breakfast in the ground floor restaurant and again I was pretty impressed. The buffet layout offered a wide range of fruit, bread, cerials etc. and a good range of cooked items ranging from chicken sausages to hash browns. The restaurant itself was spacious and airy with very good air conditioning and nice views out over the swimming pool. The hotel is well positioned for transport and I was able to get a local taxi quickly and easily reach morning. I also walked up to the Union Metro station a couple of times and fond I could do it in about 10 minutes. I also used the nearby water taxis to go over the Creek a few times. The Creek itself is one of the most attractive features of this hotel. It is built right beside the Creek and the views from the rooms are spectacular. The Creek is always busy with tourists and fisherman and at night there are numerous floating restaurant boats that are brightly illuminated with coloured lights. The Creek side is a great place to go for a stroll in the evening and perhaps eat dinner on a dhow restaurant should you wish. In my opinion the only real downside is the rather unusual design of the hotel itself. It is relatively low-rise by Dubai standards and the whole arrangement is rather odd. The entrance is a ground level and you have to go up an escalator and then right across the central atrium to get to the check-in desks. The atrium itself is rather dark and gloomy and you can see the entrance doors to most of the hotel rooms arranged along balconies that are built into the side walls of the atrium walls. The lists are all positioned at the furthest point from the entrance in the far corner of the atrium. On the landings some rooms are positioned right next to the lift shaft while others are positioned immediately opposite the lift doors. The whole building layout is a little strange and rather confusing. The whole concept has a kind of retro 1970s feel to it. I guess this was one of the first large hotels built in Dubai so it does not benefit from more recent advances in hotel architecture. Overall I would rate this hotel highly and would regard it as in my top 5 Dubai hotels. It would not be my No 1 choice but it might well me my third or fourth choice. I would certainly recommend it to anybody who wants a reasonably priced quality hotel on the Creek.
Sheraton Dubai Creek is a nice Dubai hotel of the elder generation. The view from the upper floors is amazing and it is absolutely worth booking a room with river view. The rooms were nicely refurbished a couple of years ago, and are therefore in a good condition. But there was an annoying 24/7 noise from a generator located in the hotel area (downriver facing rooms). As the name suggests, the hotel is located at the Creek where you find a nice walkway to stroll along the river. Dubai International Airport is just a 10 min. drive away. In my view, the only reason for paying more for a club room is the higher floor level. The club lounge is a disappointment: a windowless room with a low ceiling, no atmosphere and a bad A/C. It became hot once it was crowded at the drinks session. Fortunately, it was possible having breakfast at Hatta restaurant which offered a buffet with a great choice of cold and warm dishes. There also was a terrace for those who prefer outdoor dining. The pool area is small, crowded and offers the view of a concrete wall that separates the hotel ground from the public walkway. The gym was outdated, rather small but there were at least windows facing the pool area. In a nutshell, Sheraton Dubai Creek is a nice hotel with a solid offering in terms of rooms, services and facilities. Quite good value for money, and a good choice if you wish to stay in the Deira area.
We stayed here for 3 nights in July. This was our first time at this hotel as we always stay at the 4points on SZR. My son has Asbergers and as a result needs familiarity so I was worried that he may struggle in a new hotel. I had emailed the hotel before our arrival and informed them of a few requirements for my son and they were more than happy to help. On arrival, we were upgraded to a club room on the top floor (thank you to Nolan on reception). A special thank you to the breakfast manager Mark Spencer who was always at the entrance welcoming us and every day offered my son a takeaway breakfast goodie box. Another special thank you to Gurung at the concierge desk for helping me report an incident to the taxi company. We had a terrible experience with a taxi driver, which left my son quite frightened and Gurung was very helpful and contacted the taxi company for me and helped me file a report. The hotel is spotless and very peaceful, our room had the perfect view of the creek. I asked if we could have a look around the royal suite as it was only a few doors down from our room. We were given a tour of the suite and all i can say is - it is absolutely stunning!! This was our first stay here but it will not be the last as it is now my son's favourite hotel in Dubai. Hope to see you again next year.
We arrived very much earlier than the standard 3pm check in at the Sheraton, about 8am(!) but the receptionist was so kind she packed us off to breakfast (we wouldn't have time for breakfast on our check-out day due to an early flight) and into our room straight away! We had arrived here for a three night stay, having got only one of our two suitcases from Emirates, my husband's case having been left behind at Heathrow. We had been given a phone number and reference number from the airline, and the hotel receptionist took over the minute we checked in. She called us in our room and told us that she had phoned them and it would be put on a later flight, and the airline would text us to let us know when it was on route. We didn't hear anything all day so ended up hitting the malls to buy clothes, as our next destination was the Maldives and shopping opportunities would be non-existant. After a full day of sight seeing and dinner out, we came back shattered and went to bed. At about 10.45pm the phone rang, the suitcase had been delivered and did we want it straight away? The staff here, at breakfast, on the door, and especially on reception, were exemplary and Sheraton should be very proud of their team who went the extra mile to make our stay so enjoyable. The room itself was very comfortable, and despite being on the first floor above reception, was very quiet. The large bed was super comfy, and the bathroom with it's huge shower was massive. Robes were supplied and there was tea and coffee making facilities.Breakfast was very good, with a massive selection of hot and cold food, pancakes, cooked-to-order omelettes and eggs. Being a muslim country, don't forget real bacon/pork sausages are not available, but there is plenty of other yummy foods instead. A very enjoyable stay, the staff being the jewel in the crow!!
Great location. First stayed here in 1995 and continued to do so for a further ten years on business. Really interested to go back and have to say was not disappointed. From check in to check out the staff could not do enough for you. Recognition is a very important factor in any service industry, they did not disappoint from pool to lounge to reception. Whilst passing any member of staff we were always greeted. Had a seamless service from Hazel in the club lounge, rembered our drinks and preferences and always had a smile and welcome. Kelly on reception dealt with an A/C problem and also arranged delivery of sun tan lotion when shop didn't open when expected to do so... she took control of the situation with a professional manner and I really felt that she would go out of her way to do whatever it took to ensure that the guest left reception with a positive result. Only negative, Chelsea Arms... seedy lacking in atmosphere with miserable bar staff and over priced drinks. Get the bar right and you will then encourage guests to drink there. Always used to be the meeting point but alas now would avoid at all costs. For some reason can't mark hotel rating so 5 for service, 4 for sleep quality and 4 for clealiness.
Only 10 minutes from the airport.Super welcome from the porters and immediately took care of our cases. At reception another great welcome and many apologies that we had to wait for our room as we arrived early from the airport. Our room was superb with every facility there.Breakfast was a buffet and you have the choice to eat inside or outside by the pool with stunning views.Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. There is a small supermarket across the road if needed otherwise take a taxi to where ever you want to go.
Location is great. Right next to the creek. The workers there are also very friendly. Right from the entrance to the reception to the restaurant. The complimentary breakfast that the hotel offers is also amazing. Only thing is if only they could add like beIN Sports to the TV channels showing in the rooms so that one can watch the EPL and UCL. Internet facility is also very good. Hotel taxi drivers are also very friendly
We had our wedding celebration in the Hatta room on Nov 3, 2017 with almost 50 participants. I am happy to confirm that it has been a splendid experience with the hotel team, from first exploration until check out. The guests have been very happy about the setup, the dinner service, the food and drinks, and from the organization side things have been very smooth, professional and friendly, despite only relatively short advance notice from our side. No "hickups" or "misunderstandings", a very pleasant interaction at an attractive cost-benefit ratio. As a couple, we felt welcome and nicely taken care of and also enjoyed the private room with a creek view. I can definitely recommend the hotel for such events based on our experience.
I had the chance to get a room with view on the Dubai Creek. Never tired of observing the boat traffic on the waters, days and nights. Strangely the chars on the desk in the room face the door and the bathroom, not the view. This can be change easily. The staff is charming. Sometime little annoying when they knock on the door in the middle of an afternoon siesta to make your room. They constantly failed to make to room when I was absent. And I was absent for hours every afternoon. There is a so called green option under which towels and bedsheets are not changed every day but only on request. This gives you a gift voucher of 22 or 25 AED on food and drinks taken in the hotel, not bad. There is only on piece of soap that had to be shifted from the sink to the shower, and passed over when I wanted to wash my hands while madame was having a shower. It is possible to ask for an extra one, but one should not have to ask for this. The room is spacious, clean and the bed comfortable. No bad surprise. Excellent breakfast, on the side of the strangest shaped swimming pool ever. Triangular, like a club sandwich. Classical choice for this type of hotel. If you prefer to have real pork in your plate you have to explore a little before jumping on the veal bacon and chicken sausages, they are good as well. Toward the end of breakfast time, few article may be missing, no pineapple slices at the fruit salad corner, no bowls for the corn flakes, they replace on demand, just a little slowly to create some irritation, but with smile. There are five restaurants in the lobby. Italian, Indian, Japanese, the lobby snack ad cafe and a sort of pub. It is possible to get the food from the pub at the lobby snack bar. I recommend the Japanese for the buffet they offer. Little expensive, but so good. Location is not bad at all. Walking distance from the Union metro station. Just a short taxi ride to Deira City Centre shopping mall. It is possible to rent a bicycle at the hotel and have a ride along the creek and in the spice market. Another way to discover a place dedicated to cars. No cycle lanes, cyclist use the pavements, there are not that much pedestrians. Alternatively, if the weather is not too hot, it is possible to enjoy e stroll on the keys and docking of the dhows carrying all sort of goods to unknown destinations.
