The hotel is well located, close to the rail line, across the road is a mall with fast food restaurants and some dining restaurants, easy walk up to the creek with a lovely walk along the creek and some amazing restaurants- however the hotel is dated the room we had had a mould problem I couldn't pick up the phone in the ensuite due to mould - the house cleaning staff claimed not to understand English so I cleaned as much as I could with "wet wipes" the restaurant staff were very friendly as were the front desk staff, besides the mould the beds were clean and the rooms dusted and vacuumed daily. Breakfast is suited more to Asian or Indian cuisine. The night club in the lobby playes loud music till after midnight it was all the 70s so I new the words.
I'm a frequent traveller. I travel on average 20 times a year outside the country. Most of these trips are to Dubai, and hence I've stayed in a lot of different hotels. Here is my review of this hotel: 1. Location: Decent, if you want to stay in the old part of dubai. Which no one really does now, since all the nice places are in Downtown. 2. Cleanliness: ZERO/10. The bathroom has mould and fungus all over. There are strange brown smears on the tub glass. They don't change the bed sheets. I marked bedsheets with a washable marker.. and guess what in the last 4 days they didn't change them once. I asked someone to give me new glasses, as the ones in my room were dirty. A guy came and took the glasses to the bathroom. I watched in horror, as he washed the glasses in the bathroom sink (without any dishwashing liquid). Only rubbed it down with his hands. 3. Room: Dated furniture. Very gloomy. Not enough lighting in it. The television has mostly Indian channels. The tele itself is something like 20 years old. The phone had a broken cable. Looked like something out of the mid 1990s. The mini mugs that are in the room (for tea) are cracked, and stains on them (inside and out). The windows of the room were also very dirty (as were nearly all of the other windows in the hotel). 4. Interior of the hotel: Very dark and gloomy look. In a hot and sunny country like Dubai, you expect some degree of light. You don't want to feel like you're in a Yorkshire winter. The lifts (American friends read elevator), have steel sheets on the inside (resemble cargo lifts). The glass on the lifts is dirty, which gives a gloomy hotel an even worse look. 5. Breakfast buffet: If you like South Indian food (which most people don't - including those from North India) then its okay. There isn't much continental food available. The croissants and muffins were stale. The toaster doesn't work. There is something which looks like baked beans, but I was too scared to give it a go. The watermelon was fermented. The place (some sort of a night club) where they serve the breakfast is also extremely very dark. The coffee... err, or that's they called it, was the worst coffee I've had in my life. The middle east is known for good coffee. 6. Pool. If you call it that, is like a baby pool. 7. Noise. If you like to stay up every night till 3:00am, then this is the place for you. Business travellers & families stay away. 8. Safety. I asked for an Iron. I got one, but the plug was broken. Could have gotten electrocuted! 9. Staff: Very unfriendly. Actually many are rude. First no one picks up the phone when calling housekeeping. You have to keep calling. When someone does, they don't speak english very well (for a country like Dubai, where everyone speaks english - this is hard to believe). I asked for an Iron so I could press my clothes. The guy who brought it, told me that I better leave it back outside the room after 30minutes or, he'll come and wake me up in the middle of the night! 10. Parking: There is parking in the basement. However they have their trash dumpsters there. So there is a horrendously foul smell. You have to hold your breath, and dash towards the car. Not a problem you are Usain Bold.
This is a well designed and well maintained 4 Star hotel in BurDubai. Many malls, restaurants and business places are in close proximity. Rooms are neat and staff friendly. This is really value for money.
Please what ever you do guys don’t ever stay in this filthy hotel it has to be the dirtiest place I have ever stayed in I was only their for 1 night checked out at 7am as the smell of staleness was too much never mind the flea bites I booked a suite at 302 Dirham a night only to be told that if my friend visited me at my hotel I had to pay another 135 dirham please don’t ever go through what I experienced TV not working Air con not working windows wouldn’t open oh did I mention it has 4 nightclubs or brothels for a better word I would seriously think before you book this flea pit you will regret it for sure .
As we are in vacations here in Dubai, me and my wife we are always enjoying night life here and attending clubs and bars here , but to be honnest the bar and lounge called Ali Baba is one of the worst places ever i visited here in UAE .. last week we went there to enjoy as usual and we were enjoying actually till my wife ordered some cocktails for us, which was actually a very bad choice, as we received a sweet juice without alcohol and when i complained to the indian or Pakistani guy with suit and tie who supposed to be the manager, his name i think is Rashikesh , he said that our drink is very good and he can not do anything for us and he really made us feel like he is doing a favour for us while we came to spend our money there ?? after that i asked him to add more alcohol to the drinks and i pay whatever he wants , he refused and said No we can not do that !!!!! like if he will pay for my drink !!!! For real it was very embarassing for me in front of my wife trying to pay my own money and all i got is bad attitude from the supervisor and the bad service from the barman. After this bad night , I really DONT RECOMMAND THIS HOTEL AND THE FACILITIES TO ANYONE; unless you want to be embarassed by the manager there in front of everyone
I have dined in the bar Requested some cocktails, the bartender were very good and try to assist as I received the cocktail without any drop of alcohol I called the manager his name Rishikesh, to assist, he came but was in very bad attitude and not interesting to sort out a problems, he should be thrown out of this hotel as he doesn’t have any since of customer service. Anyway I’m not recommending this hotel at all
Location is excellent, near the metro station and easy access to taxi. Bur Juman Mall just opposite and lots of restaurants around. They welcome their guests in lovely arabic style giving Dates and Drink. The rooms are spacious and cozy. As a Travel Consultant I would recommend this hotel especially for the location. However, I have a couple suggestions for Management. Firstly, as 4 star hotel you should have sufficient Iron and Board. It's very inconvenient for your guests to have to share 1 Iron and Board. Every time you use the Iron and Board the staff request you to place it outside your door so that another Guest can have access to it. It's a bit ridiculous. Secondly, when my group and I were checking out, some members of our group were being charged for items in the minibar that were not used by them. It created a very embarrassing moment for some of my members and I hope in future such things will not happen again. Beside these 2 issues, everything else was fine. I have stayed at this hotel many times and I certainly recommend it.
Hotel located on ideal place where easy access to metro station. Metro station right infront of hotel and famous shopping mall, Burjuman also located on opposite to hotel. Friendly staff and and service of hotel was amazing. Specially Mr.Nikalesh who is working as a front office manager was very friendly and helpful. Hotel fully equipped with all kind of facilities such as spa, gym, ladies Saloon, pool and pubs or clubs. On the lobby can find travel desk and Mr Warren who is working on travel desk will guide and provide all tours and rental car services at very good prices.i would recommend this place to stay on your next trip to Dubai.
