Great location, walk to restaurants, souk and mall. Views of Burj and fountains is amazing. Room is comfortable, but the service was impeccable. Hotel staff was very attentive and went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome and that our stay at Palace was special. It truly was.
My husband and I had 2 nights stop over on our way to Europe. We chose the Palace Downtown due to its location - being on the Lake and close to the Dubai Mall. We were not disappointed by our decision at all - It was simply delightful! We had a fountain view executive room which was on the same floor as the street entry level. The room was large with a balcony with a wonderful view of the Lake and the Burj Kahalifa and the Opera House. The best part of the room was the bed - soooo comfortable and the pillows were like clouds - so cosy. Actually watching the fountains from the balcony was pretty amazing too. The whole hotel smelt devine. The staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful and the location was indeed fantastic. We ate breakfast in the buffet restaurant which had lots of yummy choices - but ate out both nights. Restaurants were closeby. Our favourite was Shakespear and Co - fantastic cakes for afternoon tea there too. Walking around the hotel at night was a treat too - looks beautiful. Would definitely be happy to stay there again in the future.
The Palace Downtown, Dubai is built on the lake opposite the Burj Khalifa. In the lush gardens at the rear of the hotel is a fabulous place to ‘chill out’ you can swim in the pool or lie on one of the shaded sun loungers and get spectacular views of the world’s tallest building, or in the evening enjoy the record-breaking Dubai Fountain display. The hotel is just steps away form the Dubai Mall as well as the vibrant Souk Al Bahar and the many shops and restaurants in the Downtown area. The hotel is an oasis of calm, the low rise building offers 242 spacious rooms and suites featuring Middle-Eastern touches in the form of carved-wood panelling and rich fabrics. In the public spaces, there are inlaid tables, lanterns and, in typically Arab style, keyhole-shaped doors. The entrance lobby, adorned with roses, and a petal-filled pool, has low sofas with bolster cushions making it feel more like a palace than a hotel. Staff are friendly and polite, but if you asked for something ‘off-piste’ they don't seem to have the authority to deal with it (we wanted a bottle of wine that was served in the hotel bar, but not the restaurant we were eating at, just steps away, we eventually went to the bar ourselves a purchased the wine to bring back to our table!) All rooms and suites have balconies with views of the Burj Lake, Old Town or the Dubai Fountain. Rooms are on the dark side, with lots of dark polished wood and Middle Eastern-style carved-wood panelling, but lightened by cream carpets. Beds are enormous and very comfortable. Rooms have a large, well-lit bathroom, with separate cubicles for shower and lavatory, along with luxury toiletries. There is ample wardrobe space and flat screen TV and coffee machine. To appeal to the business sector, rooms have a large desk and chair with ample plugs for computers etc. The Buffet breakfast was extensive with lots of international options and there is an excellent (although expensive Thai Restaurant from where you have wonderful views of the Dubai Fountains as you eat) or a great Argentinean Steak Restaurant (again on the pricy side).
Great 3 night stop over, fountain view room was great and had brilliant views of the dancing fountains certainly added a bit of theatre to our stay, as previously mentioned they would rival the ones at the Bellagio in Vegas!!! Food was good, the palace salad and baby chicken at the poolside was great and the Thai restaurant was excellent ( I probably do not need to mention this but it is very expensive) great place, good staff, didn't venture out of the hotel due to our short stay but I would say it is a great place for shopping etc.. would return & would recommend 👍
We are visiting Dubai every year the last decade ,during the festive days of Christmas & New Year and for one more time ,we stayed in Palace Downtown ,as we believe that is the best residence in Dubai and this time was the best one!! We have chosen a Suite fountain View, which worth any penny of its price.A member of the hotel stuff was waiting us upon arrival and we passed the immigration and the customs very easily-an advantange that the Palace offers to all the guests for the Palace Rooms- and a luxury car drived us directly to the hotel. This year we found some nice changes in the hotel, especially to the room service that was much more faster and kind in everything that we were asking for!! And something important for these that want to dine in room..The previous years we have mentioned that we wanted more variety of foods to select from!! This year this has been improoved, giving us more than 30 choices to select.Of course the choice of the Thai and the Argentinian restaurants are perfect for any occasion to dine.We must mention that the breakfast is perfect as for its quality as also for the many choices offered, things that rarely can be found!! This time,we went to the SPA for a massage (80 minutes),that was excellent and very relaxing, giving us the opportunity to have this massage together in the same room!! For all these nice improvements,we think that the new General Manager Mr David Simon has played a catalyst role with new ideas and fresh mind. Of course everybody knows that this hotel is in front of Burj Halifa, dancing waters and the famous Dubai Mall, that is expanding further more but it is not ready yet.An advice for these who want to shop is to prefer the morning hours,as the eveving is very crowded. The Shopping Festival begins on the 26th of Dec and lasts till 28 Jan. with big sales from 40%- 60% or more!!! And something that we did not like in Dubai Mall, is that there was not a Christmas Tree ,instead of the Emirates Mall which had a huge Tree with according Christmas Decoration!!! And something more, the welcome of the New Year with Laser Show, the latest technology, was very nice but the traditional fireworks have another charm and glamour and much more impressive and joyful, fact that has disappointed a lot of people!!
The hotel is decorated in an Arabian style, which is beautiful. The pool is shady in the afternoon, so if you want to lie in the sun do so in the morning. Rooms are lovely. Buffet Breakfast was one of the best I've had in the world. Situated right next to Dubai mall, fountain show and views across man made lake to Burj Khalifa. Definitely worth staying here.
We decided to stop in Dubai at the end of our travels and decided to stay at the Palace in downtown Dubai. In terms of location, with beautiful views of the fountain and Burj Khalifa we felt it was unparalleled in Dubai (having stayed at the Burj and many other hotels and resorts in Dubai previously.) Upon Check-in we were greeted by very helpful and pleasant staff, who couldn't help enough and a very pleasant scent! Very befitting of an Arabian Palace. The room was exemplary, again, very clean and well looked after, with very high class amenities. At breakfast, staff, namely Deva, was very attentive, remembering our favourite seat, and always bringing the food and fresh smoothies that we'd usually order without our asking, always greeted us with a smile and friendly chatter and nothing was ever too much to ask. Our visit was made even more special with thanks to a most friendly, caring General Manager. He personally took time and effort to come and meet us and spend time with us. Again, he was very attentive in listening to us, and again, nothing was ever too much trouble! the level of hospitality that we received during our stay with our lovely host, was truly special and unforgettable. The Palace boasts a number of fine restaurants, in which we were very lucky to dine at. Breakfast was always at Ewaan lounge, offering a range of continental and Arabian buffet style food, with hotplate chefs. A very nice touch here were the freshly squeezed fruit juices to help kick start our day! A jewel here and now our favourite restaurant in Dubai was Asado, a lovely Argentinian grillhouse overlooking the dancing fountains and the Burj Khalifa. The seating and views were breathtaking, the epitome of romantic, and the menu did not disappoint. The Chef de Cuisine cooked us a delightful meal consisting of both sea food and steak. We sampled the most delicious blue tipped prawns and Wagyu steak to name part of our meal. A finer steak or grill would definitely be difficult to find in Dubai-believe us we've looked! We would like to thank all the staff at the Palace, for making our stay one of the best ever! We do hope to see you soon! Neda and Yas
This hotel was amazing in every way. The rooms are spectacular. The hotel is incredibly beautiful inside and the aromas in the hallways were reminders of the luxurious setting. The breakfast buffet was by far the best breakfast buffet I've ever seen. The variety of fruits, fruit juices, pastries and anything else you could think of is right there in front of you. The location is right in the middle of the burj Khalifa district. The mall and souk are within walking distance from the hotel and you could literally spend a few days exploring everything inside. If you upgrade to a premium room they will take you to the airport in a luxury sedan - ours was an audi a8. We got a great deal on the room and our experience was very memorable. I hope to come back again someday.
I visit the Palace on a Sunday evening to dance Tango at Asado resteraunt when I arrive - often one year to the next I am greeted with an amazing smile and unbelievable welcome from Dickson - who remembers my name and shakes my hand I have no idea how he does this - it warms my heart - he is an extraordinary person and a fantastic ambassador for the hotel sit outside by the pool and have a few drinks - lovely experience
Spectacular views, perfect for the extravaganza that is the Burj Khalifa, and the fountains show every evening 6 to 11....visit the bar at the Armani Hotel, and get the concierge to book you a slot to avoid the queues up to the famous view... Smart dress essential. Location, perfect for shopping at the Dubai Mall, which is 5 minutes walk away. Ice rink, aquarium and a cracking premium cinema, plus the biggest and best brands in the world are all here, bring a fat wallet as everything costs more than in Europe for the same stuff... Gym,a neat little work out room, air con, close to the pool for a post exercise swim... Pool, nice with great indulgence seating and loungers, good service. Sun isn’t on it much though... at this time of year maybe four hours.... sky scrapers and palm tress block a lot of sunlight ☹️ Food, ok, nothing too impressive actually, but we didn’t eat here much as the Mall area has a lot more atmosphere to enjoy. Be careful booking a LAKE view room. The rooms are fine, huge comfy beds and reasonable quality however, it isn’t a lake. It’s not what you think it will be - you’d expect when booking that it will be looking across the MASSIVE water feature opening out across the view to the Burj, but no.... lake view means some man made nonsense that doesn’t qualify as a lake. It qualifies for UNFINISHED BUILDING WORKS VIEW perfectly as the city beyond continues to grow, so if you like that kind of thing, then it’s bang on. Pay for a FOUNTAIN view instead.
