We stayed at the One&Only The Palace for nine days, the rooms were lovely, the food was great(especially room service) the staff catered for our every need from having breakfast to extra pillows at night all with a smile, to sum the hotel up, its a great place to stay if you want privacy and peaceful surroundings, we loved it and will return.

From the moment we arrived at The Palace we cannot fault the level of service provided by the staff. The quality of the hotel and facilities were of an excellent standard and the dining experiences were a real pleasure. We will definitely return to The Royal Mirage or maybe try the The One and Only Palm which we enjoyed visiting for dinner taking the complimentary boat from the Jetty launch. The staff certainly made us feel special during what was a special holiday celebration.

The hotel is absolutely breathtaking, up there in the top 5 places we've stayed for first impression and architecture, certainly not forgettable. We had a great cocktail evening one night at sunset and the concierge were very accommodating during our stay. Gardens were stunning with two pool options both beautiful one quieter than the other. Service in the restaurants was good, variety of food in multiple restaurants to a very high standard of cooking but if anything we would like to see more local dishes on the menu so we can try new cuisine. Complained about the air-conditioning which was broken on several occasions which was frustrating as the technicians were not able to help and the hotels inaction ended up in both of us getting very ill from it which really compromised our stay together and we both got very ill. Must mention they did apologise and moved us to a suite for no extra charge where we hardly moved for the rest of our stay. Giving 4 stars because although this really did impact our holiday the hotel, facilities and restaurants were too beautiful to give it 3 stars and management did try hard to bring it round to a positive conclusion.

Elegant buffet set up at the Olives under a nice greenish natural decor and 'under the sky' kinda ceiling. We were warmly welcomed by a courteous manager Sunil who made us so comfortable throughout our meals as well as the server Vishnu. Thank you! The beach however is not the best in town quite noisy and view ( construction) is not that great.no live entertainment in the bar. That would add to a nice ambience. Other than that we would come again as the palace holds a royal place for us as the name goes!

We stayed at the one and only for 10 days with our 3 year old daughter. This hotel we cannot fault, the restaurants were amazing, the staff couldn't do enough to help you, they were so friendly and efficient in everything they do, they are a credit to the manager whom you see frequently and interacting with the staff whom all have upmost respect for him. The kids club and baby sitting service was excellent where my daughter was asking to go as she loved the camel ride, the activities were plentiful. We previously stayed here in 2005 and have since been to a few hotels in Dubai, but we will definitely be making the one and only our 1st choice hotel and have since made enquires to return in October 2018 with all the family. Totally loved the resort and will see you all next year. Jim, Kelly and Ayda

Just returned from enjoying a very memorable stay at The Palace at One & Only, Dubai. We were so well looked after with exceptional service from all the staff. Great selection of dining styles and no problems getting the restaurants of our choice, all serving food of a very high standard. We stayed in a suite and we're delighted with the accommodation it provided - the decor and facilities exceeded our expectations and we will definitely return.

Yes it`s a beautiful place very well located and offers everything you would expect, but it`s quite pricy especially if you have a second look, as it needs some renovations for a hotel at this price level. The rooms are nothing special at least in the Palace area where we`ve staid. Of course it`s clean and filled with all you need as a 5 star resort must have it. Around the pool it`s nice that you always, even denying the extra tip for the special sunbed place, find a good spot. The water in November was honestly a bit cold for 35`C outside, a bit less cooling the pool would be nice. The long hotel beach around 1 km is probably one of Dubais best beaches. The breakfast restaurants are a bit disappointing, as the one Restaurant is a Buffet only place and if you want to sit outside, what Europeans in November def. want, you sit under a net (Birds net or so) and it`s loud and not cosy at all. The other Restaurant a la card with some Buffet, too, is very beautiful to sit inside, outside it`s just too small to fit all requests, so we had to go somewhereelse 2 mornings. Which is a shame, as there is another Terrace nearby, just not in use for Breakfast. Also there is a nice Bar nearby the pool, but they are not to offer Breakfast or other food before 11, too sad. One evening we went to One and Only The Palm 101 Restaurant, this was supposed to be the best place. But it was the biggest disappointment for us. At first they had forgotten our reservation, let us wait over half an hour for a table, just as I went to the reception to tell them we would leave, they came and showed us our table. So we sat next to the open doors/windows of the inside Bar/Restaurant part and the noise was so canteen like, that it had nothing to do with the romantic dinner place at the water. Only our waiter was extraordinary exerted, even when all other staff let plates and other stuff standing somewhere, he always grabbed it and took it away. Unfortunately the rest of the staff was not at the level of this restaurants price. So all in all, we had some nice days, a lot of tours, not totally unhappy as remarked, but not overwhelmed.

Not an entirely unpleasant stay but I feel duty-bound to mention the position and setting of this hotel as a 'buyer beware'. One gets the impression that it used to be in a prime location, however this can no longer be considered the case due to the amount of construction going on around it (see photos), much of which is unfinished and ongoing. An unsightly Arabian equivalent of Benidorm beachfront (ugly high density high-rises) is being built to its right combined with noisy construction and dredging taking place directly ahead of the beachfront, leading to a significant deterioration in the general ambiance of the property. There is also the matter of a motorway flyover and mass transit railway passing close by to deal with - a shame. My shower plumbing was suspect, surging between ice cold and scalding hot and remaining unresolved despite comments to reception. Apart from this, I found the service attentive and food prepared to a high standard. Do watch out for the sand flies at the Beach Bar - you will be swarmed within seconds of your food being placed in front of you and the only solution is to be smoked out by a candle repellent. I was here on business and hence didn't really care about the costs. After finding out the average room rate, I would be very disappointed as a leisure traveller and feel there are much better options out there. Overall, I would say average to poor - it just slips into average thanks to the attentive service.

We have just returned from a (too) short 5 night break which is our first stay at the Palace. To say that we had the most delightful and charming stay would be an understatement. The attention to detail both in how the Hotel is presented and in particular the staff's attentiveness and demeanour, is absolutely remarkable. We were always greeted personally and with a genuinely welcoming smile right across the resort. Our luxurious room was spotlessly maintained and clean and just added to the whole experience. The food was equally brilliant. I lost count of the number of restaurant options available, all offering different menu styles, including a great buffet, steak, seafood, french, Indian, mediterranean and of course local options, which were spread across the resort, all of which you can visit. Although we understood the Hotel was busy, it certainly did not feel like it, especially as we were spoilt for choice for sun bed's on both the beach and pool. The One & Only Royal Mirage has been an absolute revelation and without a doubt we will be returning. There is nothing to be disappointed about, whether as a family, couple or business stay, we would not hesitate to recommend highly enough.

This is a beautiful hotel and my fifth visit but I left disappointed this year. Slow service at the pool bar has always been a problem but this year I experienced very slow service for breakfast at Celebrities restaurant.(20 mins for a coffee / 30 Mins for two eggs seemed the norm). I also had a very poor meal at Nina’s. The waiter was over confident and got the meal wrong three times. We were then charged adult prices for kids meals and the bill was wrong on several occasions at the hotel restaurants - never in my favour ! The hotel is beautiful and some staff are amazing but this year it wasn’t a five star experience.
