We arrived early and were told we could check in. The lady at reception told us we had to pay extra and upgrade to a more expensive room or we couldn’t check in, she told us she only had an upgrade available and when we told her we weren’t interested she tried to get us to buy a breakfast each and then said when we got back our room would be ready. When we refused magically the room was ready... pushy, rude and unprofessional. Seems like they are on commission or other incentive so be aware if you have booked to stay here. It soured our experience from the start. The pool is full everyday with empty beds covered in towels so you can’t use them, the service is very slow and the man that serves the Arabic coffee kept harassing us to take a photo with him and write him a review. The staff in the Chinese restaurant were lovely and we enjoyed the food there. The view from our room was a freeway and the location didn’t really suit us, you have to get a bus to the beach and there’s nothing much around
The hotel is absolutely beautiful with very traditional decorations in the lobby. Felt very much like you were in the Middle East. The service and staff were very accomodating and helpful. The location is great, close to the Ibn Battuta Mall as well as about a 5-10 minute walk from the metro stop. It is a bit further away from downtown Dubai, just keep that in mind if you're looking to be closer to downtown or the beach.
It was a very special welcoming gift with chocolate & Arabic coffee from mostafa , great hotel & comfort rooms, with wonderful reception, great staff , complimentary private beach , with free shuttle, i am recommending this hotel
The hotel is near a metro stop and mall but it’s not the best location, especially when it’s hot and you don’t fancy walking around. It’s nowhere near the beach but they offer a free shuttle service to the Riva beach club on the palm. Don’t order a red bull if you go to the bar there as it cost us £9! They do not allow you to bring your own drinks there and will confiscate your water bottles so you are forced to buy theirs for £2.50 The food is great in the hotel especially at the Riva Cafe, the staff are really nice in there too. That is by far the friendliest place and it had a relaxed atmosphere. The other staff in the hotel were a bit lukewarm which isn’t really the norm for Dubai. Mustafa the host is very pushy and made us feel very uncomfortable. They have a stand every afternoon in the hotel where they give out Swiss chocolate treats, he handed my wife one chocolate and then asked us to take his photo and write a review in trip advisor. We told him that we didn’t have it (I have just downloaded it) and he took out his phone and showed us the app and told us to download it. We’d only just met him and so how could we leave a review! We sat down and spoke to some other guests from Australia who said he was pushing them to write a review as well. He came over to where we were sitting about 20 minutes after and asked if we’d done it yet. He said he’s famous on here and that he would check later when it was uploaded. We didn’t leave a review and then the next time he saw us he was very moody and created a bad atmosphere. Appalling attitude! Staff should never ask guests for reviews! The pool was really nice and they also had a separate kids area. People leave their towels on the loungers from very early and so you cannot get a bed all day! I’ve seen this in some hotels but a lot have a policy where they are removed after a reasonable amount of time. I would expect it to be better managed in a five star hotel. They do have some good deals but we wouldn’t stay here again because of the rude service that made us and other guests uncomfortable and also because we sometimes like to be able to swim without waking up at the crack of dawn to hold a lounger.
Hotel is top class. All staff were very polite, very helpful. On reception,Razell was brilliant with us,an absolute credit to the hotel. Delia and Cheryl in kids club were brilliant with our 6 year old son.He loved it in there. This is a great hotel for families. Pool is very good, quite large and very clean.Rooms are very nice. There's a very large shopping mall a couple of hundred yards walk across the road. I would definately stay at this hotel again.I've visited Dubai many times and this hotel is up there with the best of them.Breakfast was also high quality with a great selection.
Everything was perfect Mr Ola Thanks for your kind Service at the reception. We would recommend your hotel to everyone. Cant wait to come again. Shopping Mall and Metro station near the Hotel..very good
Very nice coffee with chocolate with very nice man called moustafa who introduce to us many welcomes in inn batota hotel dubai so i asked him to take photo with him. Next time in dubai i hope see him again
We stayed here as our mini moon and even though they weren’t able to upgrade our room or check in early (our flight arrived at 630am) everything exceeded our expectations The hotel itself is further out, however taxis are so accessible and cheap and we loved the use of the daily shuttle bus to and from Riva beach club which is at the start of the Palm. The beach club is perfect for all day sun! The hotel itself is immaculately clean, and the staff work so hard, especially the house keeping staff We stayed on a half board basis which meant that we could also use the other restaurants in the hotel. The Indian buffet was amazing but we had 2 fantastic meals in Sicilia. Jan was just fantastic and a ray of sunshine! His team were also fantastic and it was a great place to spend our last 2 nights in Dubai! The mall across the road is much older than the newer emirates and Dubai mall, however the carrefour is ideal for grabbing things like water, crisps etc. We found the happy hours in the hotel particularly good value for money too, and chocolate hour was a lovely touch! All in all a fantastic stay, we would definitely return to this hotel again!
Had an amazing stay at the movenpick Hotel. Amazing service, and an extra thank you to Mostafa at chocolate hour, who was super friendly and helpful even with all my dietary requirements! If you like chocolate definitely go and visit him, a lovely person and great service!
First time in Dubai will definetly be going back staying in this hotel. A beautiful hotel inside and out Staff were friendly so attentive nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely clean room on the 10th floor fresh towels tea, coffee everyday. We used the roof top pool which was nice and cool had drinks ftom the pool bar staff were friendly and spent time chatting with us.We upgraded to the executive breakfast lounge but never felt the need to use it as the breakfast buffet was not too busy and their selection of food was fantastic. Again the staff very so attentive Having a small cafe is a great idea as I dont always want a large meal and like to have coffee and pastries at different times of the day or night when I am on holiday. The location of the hotel is great a short taxi ride 10 mins to the Marina and 20 mins to Dubai Mall taxi fare is very reasonable. We also used the metro. the station is just outside the hotel again very reasonable. The Mall right across the road is a great place to shop and eat you can get around the whole mall unlike the Dubai Mall unles you want to stay there for the whole day. This hotel is discribed as outside of Dubai and on approach you may think you are in a factory working area what it is near part of the Dubai port. With the Metrol, Mall and reasonable taxi fares this hotel is in a geat location. Friendly, clean great staff, tasty and great varitity of food, decor gleaming and so impressive. An absolute joy to be a guest in this hotel.
