My experience at this property was extremely sketchy and unprofessional. There is no lobby or reception, I was greeted in the parking lot. Despite having prepaid for my stay, I was demanded to provide a cash deposit only.
When I offered my credit cards (five different ones), the payment terminal consistently displayed “void” before the card was even inserted, making it clear that they only wanted cash. After nearly 3 hours of back-and-forth, I eventually contacted local authorities to report the scam-like behavior. Only then did the staff member back down and allow me to check in.
Inside the apartment, there was a sign listing absurd charges (for example, a charge for using a washcloth), which appears to be how they justify taking deposits from unsuspecting guests.
As we left the room, we saw another guest being subjected to the exact same treatment, her credit card was mysteriously “declining” and she was being forced to withdraw cash from an ATM.
This is not how a legitimate hospitality business operates. Please avoid Duranni Homes, it’s a scam setup that preys on travelers.
