We are currently staying here , we arrived on Monday 13th November 2017 we had to wait 4 hours for our room the receptionist was so so rude to us and most people that went to the desk , which wasn't a good start after a long flight. The room was clean, but very dated ( again we could accept that being clean is the most important) . We had a couple of hours sleep freshened up and went down for dinner which was buffet as we booked half board, the choice was very very poor a tiny selection of salad stale bread , I opted for soup which was barely warm the main courses was a choice of a meat dish, fish dish, a pasta and vegetables which were again not hot at all and melon or cakes for dessert. Breakfast which again was buffet very poor choices nothing looked appetising at all it was appalling and very disorganised, not being picky but for a hotel that is supposed to be 4 star rated ( not a chance in a million years) we stayed in the Towers Rotana last time we came which is also a 4 star rated and is poles apart from this I would rate this as a 2 star at best. Getting back to our room yesterday we sunbathed came back to have a shower the room hadn't been cleaned at all, all that had been done was the bin emptied and 2 bottles water put on the side ( not even a new toilet roll put in ). The bath is not very user friendly it is sunken, but a very high step in to it with a very deep step over into it which is very slippy once you've had a shower. The pool side on the roof is ok,but again not very user friendly as it's very slippery with no warning signs up to say so. So we will be eating out for the rest of our holiday and would say again at best 2 star wished I had booked the other hotel as it was a nice hotel with amazing food with so much choice so the morel of the story is sometimes to stick with what you know instead of trying something new
Arriving by taxi at 2017.10.03 night, the hotel staff immediately jumped for our luggages, they were really kind and helpful. Only the receptionist guy was stolid, no smile, no kind, but made his work well: our family checked in within 5-6 minutes. So I didn't mind. Our room was big and comfortable, really livable for a family with 2 small children ( with 1 huge bed ). The equipments are bit worn out, i think the hotel can worth more, if some renovating happened. Otherwise everything was all right, the staff came clean out our room every day. Fresh towels, vacuum cleaning, new tolilet papers we got. All the staff was kind and helpfull during out stay. The checkout was as quick as checkin, we left our luggages in office, so we could hanging aroung in the city few more hours. We went to the airport with a nice white Lexus, what was reserved for us by the hotel. We loved all stay in Dubai. :)
Bad food , ventilation problems in kitchen. When I told them they said we are Indian for us okay. Asked to pay for water but break fast is free .. wow . I clean toilets myself as it was so dirty.. bedsheets changed after 3 days oh I have never seen such a bad service. It seems like this was for free ....
If you are booking this hotel for your holdiays then you might be preparing to spoil your vacation. VERY ARROGANT and uneducated Management (managers) and staff, they hardly speak and undertsand English.Breakfast is rotten and same Menu everyday .Totaly unpleaseant and disappointment Experience.
Rooms was smelly and very basic. Requested a view well in advance however received a building as a view. Then got moved to another room where i could see a street at least. Bathroom was not elderly friendly.
The only good thing about this hotel that it's near the metro station. Also, near mall of the emirates. room was OK. breakfast has limited choices. While booking, it showed that the room has a city view. unfortunately there was no view at all!!!
If you want to go to to hotel which is budget end, Cassells Al Barsha Hotel will meet your requirements. ROOMS I read the reviews here on Trip Advisor UK prior to going and as soon I arrived I asked the front desk to change my room. Why? I had read that some rooms face a wall or have no natural light which. So I asked if my room was one of them, it turns it would have been, had I not changed. Thankfully after much remonstration with the staff on duty, I got changed to another room which had a balcony which was good. 4* & DAMP SMELL Although like other reviewers have stated, the hotel staff advise that it is 4 stars, genuinely based on my experience I think that is an grand overstatement. I didn't experience this in my room, however when I popped by to another guests room to collect them before we headed down to breakfast or to go out, I was overwhelmed by the damp smell. CLEANING STAFF & WATER The daily cleaning staff were very helpful and would always offer more water, which was very helpful. RECEPTION STAFF The reception staff's behaviour can at times seem like you as a paying guest are an inconvenience to them. Some training in 4* customer service wouldn't go amiss here. BREAKFAST Best bit - fresh omelettes in the morning for breakfast and fruit selection. POOL The pool on the rooftop is ok, however there was inadequate shade provision. So you would have to get there early if you wanted a lounger in the under a canopy. There is a free shuttle to the beach which is good. The beach itself PICTURES Oh, the pictures that the hotel shows in its promotion and also on the TV screens at the back of reception areas seem to have been taken at time when the hotel was first opened, as it is not the same today. All in all, ok hotel but I wouldn't stay here again. This hotel is 'Budget Dubai' rather than mid-high end Dubai.
The place has good facilities, easy access to the metro and a supermarket right outside the hotel. A few restaurants with Indian and and Pakistani cuisines and also a fast food restaurant nearby. All these make it flexible for one's culinary tastes. Mall of Emirates is also close by, costing 3 AED via the metro. The hotel's restaurant staff are however not flexible enough for families with young children. I particularly had a problem with my kids who do not take breakfast before 11AM and the staff couldn't allow me to do some takeaway breakfast for them to eat later on. The fastfood restaurant and supermarket came in handy on this. The breakfast is a bit too montonous too with the only daily changes being the juice and a swap of beans. There's a gym and a roof top pool, never got to use them though :-(. The place is however acceptable to stay in if you are wiling to overlook the few problems.
Good things: - Cheap Price. - Clean room. Bad things: - Open door roof top bar in an extremely hot summer! - Pillows are too slim! - I can hear people in next room talking which made the sleeping impossible. - Water leak in Bathroom (A small one) - Location is poor for walkers (Specially in the late night) - Old building. - Staff is average nothing special about them. There are so many other hotels with same price but better quality.
Pleasant hotel. Good location, with 15 min walk to Mall of Emirate & close to E11, Sheikh Zayed Road. Rooms are large, but the lighting is dim & smell a bit damp due to the AC being on most of the time. The shower water temperature is just luke warm. The hotel is a bit predated but clean. Breakfast is OK but choice is limited. Pool & gym upstairs but not enough shade. All together good value for money if you want somewhere functional & reasonably priced. Supermarket & some nice restaurants just across the road.
