Old world charm and very friendly staff. The shower in the bath is a bit of a challenge and the water ends up on the floor and the water goes hot and clod but that is part of the charm. They give a good selection for breakfast in the executive lounge however the evening staff congregate there and seem to forget that it is alounge for guests though they are very friendly. Good proximity to shop, The Creek and Dubai Museum
This is the first time I have stayed here on a sight seeing stopover between India and the US. I have to say that for the price this was a great place to stay, the rooms were clean and well maintained, the staff was super friendly, the restaurant I heard was good but did not get a chance to try and ofcoz the awesome sherlock pub. I cant really complain about anything here, its not too far to downtown from here and it also offers the best of Bur Dubai shopping and sight seeing close by.
I've been staying at The Arabian Courtyard since 2010..the hotel in my opinion went from 5 stars to a 1 star. Change in management for the Spa...very disappointed...I use to smell the White Ginger right off the elevator ( no scent of that spa feeling). This group of new ppl...I'm speechless :( the sauna was broken, I had to ask them to light the candles, use while ginger, move me to a different room...it's just not what I expected! Sorry to say..I will not be returning or recommending this hotel again.
When in Dubai Desert Safari is a must - Skip Bruj Khalifa and Dubai Mall - You get everything and cheaper in America - Hotel location is ideal
The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable. Location is a bit off, but there is a Metro station (Al Fahidi) ten minutes away on foot. Lots of places to eat around the hotel plus a 24 hour market one block away. The hotel is located in one of the few neighborhoods in Dubai that I've seen in which you can walk around and see interesting shops, the Dubai Creek, and lots of people watching.
Upon my arrival which was very late at nigh and having going thru the bad thought of not having my luggage arrived in Dubai with me, when I was greated at the Check-In counter at the Hotel I forgot the disappointment of not having my luggage with me because they were so warm and friendly i just left everything in their hands and they were able to help tremendously. Their friendly and diverse staff is something I will always keep with me.
A little bit noisy, but tolerable. Could have been clearer about airport pick-up. Service is generally good, but delay on certain times. Currency exchange rate is slightly higher when compared to other places.
We stayed three days during Art Dubai, and the location couldn't have been better. The room was also comfortable (though the mattress was very firm). However, the staff was inattentive, our room was only half cleaned on our first day and not cleaned at all on the second. The bathroom was also constantly damp and there was mold on the door. Overall the price and the location still made our stay worthwhile, but you have to overlook some things.
This hotel is in an interesting area that doesn't feel so sterile... good local shoulder-rubbing right on the street below.
I spent 5 nights in Dubai and I had a very good experience. The only issue I had were with the cost of the breakfast ($8 for cereal when most places have free breakfasts). I took the metro everywhere, so it was nice to be just 1 stop from Burjuman where the red and green lines meet, and just 1 stop from Al Ras which is walking distance to the gold souk. They were very helpful, and had a shuttle to the airport at 6am which was easy to arrange and right on time.
The location was great and the room was nice. Although the bathroom had a funky smell. However, I had an executive room and expected the internet to be working. It was very spotty and I had to call the front desk to send an IT person to fixt it twice. When it did work, sometimes it would just stop. I was told that I could use the internet in the lobby, but then what was the point of paying more for a business class room?
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, as well as professional. I love the rooms, which are comfy and nicely furnished and spacious. The location, right across from Dubai Museum and the Bastakiya art district, and ready for a stroll along Dubai Creek, is ideal for visitors. You can take a short abra ride over to Deira, or walk to the Metro to see the rest of the city. Two tips: the pool is a bit small, so it's good to go early in the morning before anyone else comes. And get a Thai massage at Zaitoon!
Staff was very friendly. The toilet overflowed the last night of our stay and my wife came down with red rashes all over her body. It may have something to do with the bedsheets or linens. It would have been nice to have breakfast buffet included.
Great hotel! Convenient for walking tour of the old Dubai, water taxi and markets. The hotel also offers a real touch of life and diversity of people in Dubai, not just the tourists and the fancy shopping malls. The only problem we had is the tour desk staff gave us the wrong info. as to which metro stop to get off in order to get to another hotel (Dar Al Masyaf Jumeirah) by taking the Metro. It went far far beyond what we should get off (the Mall of Emerites). That was pretty bad because we took her advice over another taxi driver's advice since we trusted as a tour desk staff at the hotel.
We arrived early and were given a room, although we had to change the next day. A rollaway bed was promptly made up for our daughter. The concierge was helpful in planning day trips.
The hotel is very traditional - the old arab world. All in all it was a nice hotel for a few days in Dubai. The rooms were okey. Outstanding is the service. Much staff which is serving you 24 hours the day - this is amazing for a 4-stars hotel.
I was too jet lagged to sightsee and had only a 24 hour layover so I chilled at the pool and relaxed in the sun. After, I ate at one of their restaurants and had a nice meal then took a walk and went to bed(my mattress was great) Got an on-time wake-up call and had a huge buffet breakfast which I had included in my reservation. A taxi was quickly gotten for me at my request and I was off. Would stay again.
Good location for shopping at Meena Bazar Overall a good place to stay
The hotel has a good location, it is close enough to the historical places in Dubai, including Dubai museum. However since there are many other excellent hotels (though these are a bit more expensive) in Dubai, unless I would like to stay long around these historical area, I would prefer to stay more luxury hotels, for examples, at near Dubai mall.
I could not have projected that this location would have been so ideal for me. We were in Old Dubai, walking and water taxi distance from The Spice Market and Gold Market. This hotel was located in the commercial garment district, which was heaven for me. Room was great. We were on the Executive level, with access to the Executive Suite for Breakfast, free wi-fi and happy hour every night. Our room was very clean. The bed was just a little firm for me, most travelers would not complain. One itsy bitsy issue with the shower water, it needed a regulator. Water temp was inconsistent. Staff was very friendly and helpful. For the services provided, this was an excellent value and would stay here again.
