Hotel is nicely located in down town, but everything from my perspective only average. Very smaal rooms, not very comfortable. Just enough for bussiness trip, however nothing special. Not very helpfull reception.
I scored a room on the 11th floor with a full glass wall looking out towards the Altstadt. View to die for. Other than that, nothing special, in the sense that this is a fairly upmarket Accor brand and everything fitted with that. It was clean, comfortable and everything worked. Staff friendly and efficient. What's not to like?
i stayed many times at the pullman and i will return in the future as usual, easy stay, friendly staff, wide selection at breakfast, great location only minus this time: the fridge in my room was not working/cooling at all
We came with family four of us , the Front office ladies were very nice , the room very well designed .the only bad point was the next morning i cam only to front office around 06h00 to do soem work on my laptop and have coffee, as there is NO coffee facilities , NEITHER mini bar in the room. 3 member of staff , were dicussing some reports in the front office and when I came the look of the blond women with the black jacker whom seems to be in charge , meant clearly that i should not be there and should not disturb them. However as I was brave enough to ask where to get a coffee , she told me that the restaurant open at 06h30, then I aske if there is another way to have a cup of coffee , she then , looked around as searching for something and came back to me , there is not coffee facility here ...I then asked for the password for wifi , cleary but the look she gave , i must be a simpleton , and with a sight she gave it to me . my comment is the patronising , disdainful attitude to the young arrogant lady to a guest double her age whom is asking for something very resonable is not acceptable , some people should remenber that with out clients there would be no salary.. At the same time , there was a young ladu , long dark hair , who was very nice and latter on , appologised for her colleague attitude , this is a very proffesional person and should be congratulated .
The Pullman is a modern hotel close to Dresden railway station. The reception staff were reasonably friendly and helpful, but they were a little abrupt as we arrived early and had to put our bags in the luggage room. Our room was on the 9th floor, and had a great view of the trams below and the railway station - ideal for a train/tram loving husband! We watched the trains come and go and loved the freight trains! The room was comfortable, but was let down by the very strange shower arrangement - the shower cubicle and the sink were in the main room, this meant that a curtain had to be pulled around the cubicle otherwise you showered in full view of your room-mate! I didn't want to do that - even if we have been married many years! I do like some privacy when showering. The bed was okay, but not as comfortable as the one on display in reception led me to believe. The main issue was the pillows - a constant problem in Europe where they seem to favour one very thin, soft pillow. Breakfast was acceptable but not outstanding. The bacon was awful - not crispy, but greasy and black! There was no low fat option for yogurts either. We had room service and the food was very good and presented on a nice trolley that became a table. There was a complimentary bottle of water in the room, which was very welcome and we had bathrobes and slippers - which we hadn't expected, so maybe we had been upgraded? Wi-Fi was a bit of a nuisance as you had to continually log-in. It was annoying to have to do this every time you left the hotel and returned. There are no minibars in the rooms, but there is a fridge which you can use. The idea is to purchase items from the hotels vending machines in the lobby, but we used it for purchases from the local supermarket!
After the drastic stay in this Pullman unit two years ago, and bearing in mind the acknowledgements of the mistakes then and the promise to correct them, I decided to give them one more chance, in the hope for a better stay, which in the end it ended up fine. Feel free to read through my previous evaluation, for some elements there still remain to be confirmed, both good and bad ones! This time no flaws upon arrival/check-in, as I was being awaited and didn't come by car! The true Le Club Platinum treatment was offered, starting with an upgrade to the large and welcoming junior suite, where complimentary minibar, espresso machine and a welcoming sweet treat were waiting for me. Internet is a very complicated system in the hotel but I was told by the manager-on-duty it should change and improve in the coming weeks into an easier and much faster connection - the way it is now is simply archaic and connection is too slow for such standards! Breakfast is really nothing special and far too expensive! There are so many very nice options nearby and in the city to have a good meal to start the day for way less than what the hotel wants, one wonders why insisting on overcharging guests and getting really cross when such fact is mentioned in reports here! Either make it a five-star and stick to that ridiculous price, or become reasonable and bring price down, as simple as that! Housekeeping staff is outsourced and some of them have no command of German, which caused an issue during my stay, which was dealt with with all care and attention possible. Nonetheless, this is also an aspect to be seen into by the management and the investors: one should always try and save in some areas but not in all! Reception is most friendly and keen to help. However, the hotel has no concierge, which means reception must be up-to-date with whatever is available in the city in terms of attractions, so as to recommend it (or not) to visitors, for they somehow replace the position of a concierge there. Vending machines in the reception lobby are more suitable to an Ibis or a beach resort, not at all to a Pullman standard! There are so many options to eat nearby, there is a supermarket less than a minute away and the main station is a few extra steps away, so it just looks cheap and greedy! The stay this time was indeed better than the previous one two years ago. Nonetheless, I still don't feel that much valued as a Platinum member there - this is an area the hotel must work on soon. Other than that, I am likely to give them a third chance, for there are more qualities than flaws and their openness to improve is evident. They deserve your first chance, please proceed with the booking!
The Pullman in Dresden is a modern hotel only about 200 metres or so from the Dresden Hauptbahnhof along a car free mall. The hotel is easily walkable with wheeled luggage from the Hauptbahnhof. Our room was spotless and the beds were comfortable. The rooms at this hotel are best described as 'utilitarian' and somewhat on the small side but they are, nevertheless, perfectly comfortable. The wall to wall and floor to ceiling window provided a spacious atmosphere to compensate. Every square metre is put to good use and this has meant that the shower is a square metre clear glass cubicle in the middle of the room. Privacy is provided by a curtain which surrounds the shower and the bathroom basin and toilet area from the bedroom section. We found this arrangement unique but perfectly satisfactory. The shower has the usual detachable wall mounted fitting but also a large ceiling mounted shower rose where one can literally drown oneself from above. This was most enjoyable and relaxing although I suspect that the 'greenies' might begrudge one the water involved. A room service hamburger type meal was excellent and reasonably priced but the highlight of this hotel was the standard or the breakfast which was absolutely first class both so far as variety and service were concerned. It was excellent.
14 floor, 2room suite or something else -room. BigBig windows in the room (nice watch night thunder) Breakfast basic, nothing special. Staff was okay and nice. Car parking very near, littlebit expencive, but life goes on. Many shops nearby in walking street. If You going this city, choose this hotel ! Price was average but room is royalty. WIFI working well
Being about 300 metres from the railway station it is conveniently located. One side of the hotel has nice views over the pedestrian plaza and associated shops. The other side of the hotel looks back towards the railway station and suburban area. Many other hotels in Dresden go not have a view or very limited one. The hotel was renovated some years ago but is still well presented. It gives value for money and this results in a wider span of clientele than some other Pullman hotels. With this though comes some attendant problems not necessarily experienced elsewhere. For example excessive noise in the dining room. Rooms are modern but reasonably compact. Front desk staff are competent, other staff are keen to give good service but are not necessarily polished. One gets the impression they may not be career people in the hospitality industry. Beds were comfortable but the duvet was too thick for summer conditions, even with the air-con working. Probably the hotel should be downgraded from a Pullman to a Novotel.
Room was light & airy though not large, with very comfortable bed, free WIFI & good air conditioning. Showering facilities a bit unusual being in a glass shower recess in the bedroom, presumably a means of updating the rooms so they all had their own facilities. However doesn't work all that well as drainage is a bit problematic as is ventilation of the shower, but plenty of hot water. Decent breakfast with the usual spread of cold meats, cheeses, cereals, fruit, coffee & a good selection of teas. Convenient to Dbf, shopping mall & old city- what's left of it
