Attended our sons wedding here on Tuesday..From start to finish the whole day was fabulous..The food was piping hot and delicious, way better than most weddings we've attended.Breakfast was equally as good with a great choice of food to enjoy. The staff were courteous, efficient and pleasant..Rooms were large, bright airy and clean The grounds and seating area outside are well cared for and enjoyable to sit and relax in..We,d highly recommend this hotel as a wedding venue.
I booked this stay for my partners birthday and this was our second night away. We were warmly welcomed by Angela who was so friendly and pleasant and a joy to speak to. She very kindly upgraded us to a suite. The pictures will say it all...wow! The room was so clean and neat and fantastic sofa, tv and huge shower. It would perhaps have been even better if there was a bath but then again that’s being picky. After a drive into Bangor we came back to the hotel and had a few drinks before dinner. The bar staff were all very pleasant. At dinner we had a fantastic booth table which meant we had our own privacy. We had the curry and duck which were both amazing. Beautiful presentation as well as tasting amazing. The cheesecake and fondant followed for dessert and again they didn’t disappoint. Kirsty served us and she was so helpful and pleasant. Cocktails here were fab - Ryan makes a fantastic margarita and espresso martini. So much so we were sad when the bar closed! All the staff at the hotel are friendly and the hotel is very clean. We will definitely be returning as we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks to everyone at the hotel and well done on what you’re doing.
Stayed for the first time this past weekend and we loved it! The hotel is smaller and has a more intimate atmosphere than I expected. The receptionist on our arrival was exceptional. I had mistakenly booked a double instead of a twin and she managed to reshuffle bookings so that all our needs could be accommodated. Room very tastefully decorated; bathroom modern and spotless though very compact! Dinner and breakfast were also excellent. Most delicious scrambled egg! Very friendly bar staff and great cocktails. The sunshine made it possible to sit out on patio and drink in the relaxing, natural surroundings. This is a real find in a brilliant location and I can't wait to return!
Enjoyed another stay here. The staff are always so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are big, clean and tidy. The only downside was that the shower flooded the bathroom and it was obviously not us as the bathroom door showed signs of water damage. Breakfast is also delicious with a great choice. I look forward to visiting again next year!
This hotel is very good to say the least. From the moment we entered the door we were received with a most gracious welcome. The decor is modern & the rooms very comfortable. Excellent food throughout. The service was excellent & the bed very comfortable. Only two small negatives. The signage is not very clear from the main road. Access into the bath for shower was not easy. We would highly recommend this hotel & will hopefully return.
We drove past the hotel on our way in from Belfast, because any signs indicating the name of the hotel had been plastered over with ads for the hotel restaurant. This kind-of fashion-over-function pervades the whole hotel - spending minutes trying to turn on shiny new shower, or figure out how the taps work. Our double bed felt like two singles pushed together, with a very-unromantic ridge down the middle! That said, everything was clean, the staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was superb.
I am torn in making this review as I have previously been to this establishment and had a VERY positive experience but feel I have to give a honest and genuine experience about my recent visit. Firstly our starter of breads, oils etc were first class. MMMM then the mains. My husband had fish, chips, peas etc. The first attempt was dreadful. The batter was bearly cooked and resulted in a mushy uncooked meal. The second attempt was no better and still undercooked. I ordered the Thai curry which was tasteless, bland and in no way would be considered as a taste of 'Thai 'food. We did speak to staff who were genuinely emphatic. Then when we asked for the bill we were charged for extras 'coffees' which we did not have. Not a good experience but 'know you could do much better'
Attended a friends wedding in this hotel and it was fabulous from start to finish. The reception area was separate from the hotel and only open to wedding guests which made it feel more relaxed. The pre-reception nimblest were delightful along with the complimentary drinks courtesy of the bride & groom. The meal itself was fantastic and was served served by excellent staff. For my main course I had the lamb and it was the most delicious lamb that I had ever tasted. Later that night the late night buffet included mini burgers, chips & chicken gougons. Again delicious. A first class wedding held in a first class venue.
We thoroughly enjoyed attending a beautiful wedding and reception at this luxurious venue. Food was excellent the rooms beautifully decorated and the staff were very, very attentive and friendly. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable. A wonderful night away.
Special thanks to Ian at the hotel reception, who pinned my formal dress together, averting disaster. He was so kind and professional. He fixed everything for me and supplied copious amounts of safety pins, wit and confidence . Thank you. Best formal ever!!
