Stayed at this hotel just for a night as part of the Sahara tour. Very cute Arabian atmosphere at the hotel. The room was quite small, no TV, poor wifi network. The room was very cold and the AC didn’t go up beyond 18 degrees. Douz in winter can get very cold especially at night and in the morning. We were freezing in the room. We requested that the AC gets checked, which they did, but still couldn’t get fixed. We asked for another room, which had a slightly better heating at 22 degrees... The restaurant had a dinner and breakfast buffet, but the selection and the quality were poor and a bit disappointing. Very good folk dance music at night. Would be a nice place to stay in summer.
we stayed here as part of a sahara 2 day adventure. Loved the thermal pool. We didn't love the ants in the room. We liked the food. We didn't stay long, would be happy to go back. It's looks amazing on arrival
We stayed one night only during Sahara trip. The room was simple and quite cold, had a great dinner and hot shower then we slept. Not much trouble. Amazing early breakfast, plenty of choice! Great service!
We visited this hotel during our Sahara trip. We got a simple but clean room with a/c, shower, without tv. We had there only dinner and early breakfast, simplier but good. Drinks were paid for the dinner. Delicious bread that was baked directly in the restaurant. 2 pools - one with thermal "red" water. Poor wifi in the lobby. This hotel was very good to stay there overnight.
We stayed here for one night and it was great. The thermal pool under the stars was breathtaking. Brilliant food with plenty of choice. Brilliant relaxed atmosphere! Wish we stayed longer. Great location
We stayed here for one night as part of a sahara explorer tour. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel which was decent for a Tunisian 3 star. There was a large pool and a separate thermal pool. We didn’t go in this as it smelled strongly of sulphur and put us off. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well. There was a strong wifi signal throughout the hotel (this was much better than the wifi available in our 5* hotel in Hammamet!!). Dinner was ok, not amazing but edible. The waiter who was organising drinks was a bit brusque but the bar staff were friendly. I wouldn’t want to stay here for a week but for a stop over as part of a tour this hotel was perfectly adequate for us.
Stayed here for one night on a Thomson 2 day Sahara tour. Having done the camel/horse carriage ride to see the Sahara sunset first, we arrived at the hotel as darkness fell. Check in slightly chaotic, room ok nothing special, bathroom basic but clean, room floor not so clean-dust and bits of paper. Beds ok but mattress and pillows on the hard side. Allocated tables in the restraunt so met people from hotels not on our tour which did not bother us, food ok, especially considering hotel location, but not great; hotel appeared to have over catered both at dinner and breakfast. We did have time to try the thermal pool before dinner, hot, slimy, sulpherous and rather deep -take care; other half broke toe ascending steps in poor light! Though it was certainly an experience swimming in the dark, in hot water on a cold December night and apparently good for one. As we only stayed one night, leaving extremely early to resume the tour we did not get the chance to explore either the hotel or grounds in detail. The decour of the hotel seemed very authentic which was a nice change from the usual tourist hotels and eould have liked to explore more extensively in day light. From what we did experience we were relieved to be only staying one night as the bone numbing coldness of the hotel from arrival to leaving was awful.
We stayed in this hotel one night during our Sahara Trip. After long day in a bus, visiting many atractions this hotel was a great place. The best thing is a thermal pool where we spend 2hrs just relaxing. Rooms are simple but clean, food in restaurant very good - both dinner and brekfast. Enjoyed stay in this hotel and would go back!
stopped here as part of sahara excursion. Not a nice experience to stay in the room was awful and dirty. the hot spa was nice but dirty breakfast was ok. Thomson could of done a lot better as a hotel but at least it was only one night
I stayed as part of the Sahara desert package and was very impressed with the standard of the hotel, especially when you work out much you are actually paying to stay here half board, less than the cost of a premier inn in the UK, and that's only for the room. The rooms have everything you need for an overnight stay, although there isn't a TV, I am sure the vast majority of people can do without one for one night, especially given the fact you need to be up at 4am the next morning. Food was buffet style, but reasonable, not the best but certainly not the worst I have had. There was a nice swimming pool in the central courtyard of the hotel, which unfortunately we didn't have the chance to use. The only downside of using the hotel is the tour group hoards that descend every evening at 6-7pm, which included me as it can mean the dining room is extremely crowded, but I suspect this applies to all the other tourist hotels in Douz.
