Not so Low cost Low service level Rooms are clean and enough spacious for that category Breakfast is ok but not good The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, there is an Italian one just beside, which is nice Value for money is just at the edge of good
The location is great when flying early from Dortmund, Very big room, comfy bed, nice chair in the room. The atmosphere is very relaxed. Clean and good breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful Minus point: No shutle bus.
Since I came for the firts time in June 2015, it's been my hotel five mire times. Due to business I come to Dortmund once or twice a year and this hotel is the perfect one for me. Close to my business location and well communicated with the town center with the metro. Staff is really kind and rooms are comfortable enough. Breakfast is a good starting for everyday and cleaning service works fine. I'm back this August there.
This location was between two cities I was driving to, so I figure how bad can a Holiday Inn Express be. The location is close to the autobahn so has easy access, The hotel is 4 floor and has no restaurant, but there is an Italian restaurant within walking distance. Breakfast was descent OK selection and plenty of seating. The room is a typical Holiday Inn Express room, nicely appointed, comfortable, wifi is good, one thing that I did not like was the air-conditioning never really got cold as I set it, not uncomfortable but not the way I like it. Staff was OK, nothing out of this world, polite but not engaged. I would recommend it if you need a place to spend the night on the way somewhere. It is close to the city but a bit of a drive, nothing else in the surrounding for you to do.
Nice, modern Holiday Inn with small but clean and well equipped rooms. Not much in the way of facilities (e.g. no restaurant), but there is an Italian restaurant nearby and the U-Bahn station to the city centre is 5 minutes walk, Just off the main road going through the city. Would definitely recommend for a stop-over. P.S The title picture used in the listing on Tripadvisor is NOT the hotel, but (I assume) a nearby landmark.
Hello! This hotel was out first choice when we went to Dortmund. It was in a quiet area, good for business travels. Also the breakfast was really rich and fresh. The staff was always at our disposal and the rooms were clean and confortable. Enjoy!
Hotel follows usual Holiday Inn format. Nice to have free wifi throughout the hotel (well done IHG). Rooms kept clean and staff are helpful and efficient. Apart from basic continental breakfast there is no food available other than from vending machines which is a shame as there is nowhere else to eat locally apart from the Veltro Restaurant (next door). The area is very sterile being mainly offices and some residential apartments. As other contributors have mentioned the U-Bahn local railway station is only a short walk away giving you access to the city centre and other places of interest such as Signal Iduna Park (Borussia Dortmund BVB) and Dortmund Zoo. If you dont mind being out of the city this is a good hotel to consider.
I'm not a fan of 'chain' hotels, can be a bit bland. However, this hotel is realy good. Had Room 124, very clean and comfortable - tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast typical German, but good quality. Friendly and helpful staff on Reception, There is a railway station 5 minutes walk away for journey to centre - overground, then becomes underground. Vetro resturant next door is good, main meals from €10 upwards.
Spent in the hotel one night to break our journey theough Europe. Didn't notice that hotel did not feature a restaurant, which is my fault but I was not impressed although a restaurant was just acrocc the street. Loved the setting of thr bathroom and the room was standard size. Breakfast could be improved, as there was not a lot of choice of hot food- you could either have boiled eggs or boiled eggs apart from all the cereals, ham and toast on the cold counter. The staff was exceptionally friendly! I would say its worth a visit if youre having quick breakfast or not having it at all.
We decided to spend the night in Dortmund vs Hamburg due to the cost. This place was far from the Central Station but when you figure in the can ride it was still a better price than something downtown. Rooms were nice and the breakfast buffet was also sufficient. Caution: there is not much close by so consider this place only for overnight lodging.
