Sheraton Zagreb Hotel5.0 out of 5.0

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We had a large room with a king bed and a nice view of the city streets. Nice linens, towels, etc. It formerly was an Intercontinental Hotel so you can see fancy woodwork on doors etc. A very nice buffet breakfast, but a little short on seating. Nice location
Stayed in this hotel for 1 evening as part of a Globus Croatia Tour. Room was very small for a 4* property. In our room, there were two closets with clothes hanging bars BUT no drawers. There was only 1 drawer in one corner of the room. The sofa was soft with no arm supports and totally uncomfortable. In October, the room was hot and stuffy - even after we had the “air conditioning” on for several hours. In the room, there were no space to lay open 2 suitcases. Other than the decor, this is a below average Sheraton property.
For an overnight layover, the Sheraton suited our needs. It is centrally located and within walking distance of the city center. For a fee, there's a garage on premises and can be accessed by elevator. The hotel caters to tour groups so the lobby was always filled with people and suitcases coming and going. We had drinks at the bar but did not linger. The front desk was accommodating and helpful. Though our room had street view, it was spacious, comfortable and had everything we need. Overall, I didn't find anything special about the hotel and nothing to complain about either.
The Sheraton Zagreb is an excellent 5 star hotel. Good location with the city centre and tourist sites just a short walk away. Good staff and of course spacious and well fitted rooms. Probably the best hotel of our tour.
The location can't be beat. Chose this over the Westin based on what looked like centric location. The hotel is definitely showing its age, but still in pretty good shape, and great value if you can snag a $100 -120 a night rate. Dinner at the restaurant didn't look particularly interesting, and the prices were on par with coastal locations, so maybe steer clear. Good service, sensible rates and central location make this a good value.
Will certainly recommend this hotel. In the heart of the city with easy access to the cathedral, main square, Kaptol... The hotel has kept his charm and the stuff is very nice. The breakfast was really good with a huge variety of food with chefs available as well. Recomends, and will stay there again!
Four of us stayed here for a long weekend - 3 nights. We were upgraded to the Executive floor on checkin and were very pleased. The floor was very quiet (no banging doors) and the room was large with everything that we needed . The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Two things that put an edge on our stay - the safety deposit was not working. The maintenance staff replaced it with another one but did not lock it down so anybody could have walked away with it. Reception said that is in many rooms. The hot water in the shower was a non event. We had to run the water for 15 minutes before any luke warm water came through. The maintenance staff came and checked and said it was fine - we said you need hotter water for a shower. They said run it longer - WHAT A WASTE OF WATER. We had to check out quite early so had to get up earlier still to run the water to make sure we had a hot/warm shower - not happy - and having an early breakfast there was no chef to cook omlettes or eggs as most people at breakfast was a Japanese tour. We are from the UK!
Stayed One night at this Hotel. Room was comfortable and as SPG membership I got a small fruit plats and biscuits which was appreciated. Hotel is located very central, with walking distance to Main areas. The only negative was a crowded breakfast restaurant. Noice and not place to Enjoy a relaxing breakfast.
Notwithstanding another convention event in the hotel last weekend, my stay was as pleasant as ever. All services and amenities seemed uninterrupted (except for a very short lived excellent coffee machine on the Executive Floor - probably killed by one of the techno-minded 'executive guests' within the last 4 weeks). The restaurant even managed to cope with far too many guests wanting breakfast at the same time! All in all, it felt as i the usual good Sheraton standard remained unharmed.
We stayed here for 3 nights recently for the land part of a cruise tour package and were not impressed. The public areas have been refurbished and look very nice indeed with a welcoming bar,if you can find the barperson,on arrival we had a short wait while our room was prepared so we had a drink.A glass of red and a glass of white only we were served much better wine than we had expected, very nice but pricey, the huse wine is perfectly good we found out later. On to the room, very tired with chipped paint peeling wallpaper near the door and a less than clean bathroom.the plug in the washbasin was one of the rod operated type that refused to stay down making it impossible to keep a basin full of water.I was fixed promptly only to fail on the second use. Also the plating was peeling off the taps, not very appealing. The food service was buffet style with a wide choice of cold cuts and salad and a choice of 4 hot dishes well luke warm dishes which were usually overcooked. The ding area was shared by various tour groups so meal times were rather chaotic,I can'say the food was good. With seating being at a premium the privates residents area was opened up but that soon filled up too,if I were an independent traveller I would be horrified at this.. I can only assume that the hotel relies on tour groups to stay afloat and no doubt they have been driven down on their prices by the tour operators which results in a less than satisfactory service, what staff there were were very hard working and pleasant. Would we return? I;m afraid not.
