We were a group of 20 golfers intent on having an enjoyable time and we certainly went to the right place. Check in was painless and very speedy and although we had arrived well before the allotted time all our rooms were ready. The rooms themselves were well furnished, clean and well equipped. Breakfast was the usual self service and was just ok., nothing special but eatable. However the dinner on Saturday night was superb and throughly enjoyed by all in attendance. All in all we had a great weekend. The only drawback is that it is a hotel that likes to cater for hen/stag parties so it can be quite noisy particularly late at night.
We stayed one night on a B&B basis. The bed element was fine but the breakfast element was very disappointing. The problem was that the food may have been OK when breakfast began at 7:30 am but when we arrived at 9:45 the bacon was dry and rock hard and the scrambled egg was a sorry mess.
Hotel very comfortable. Very clean. Rooms cleaned daily. Clean towels daily. Staff very friendly. Hotel in the centre of town. Lovely restaurant / bar attached to hotel called The Warehouse ( lovely food served at the Warehouse) Music a bit loud for the over sixties in the Warehouse. Dining room in hotel nice. No Leisure centre in this hotel but you can use their sister hotel about 5 minutes drive away and this Leisure centre was lovely ( pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room)
very impressed with hotel, staff friendly and helpful, rooms clean and spacious, great location. warehouse restaurant food excellent and good value, we ate there every evening of our four day stay. we felt so comfortable during our holiday. we intend to return again.
It was my first time staying in this hotel. Its in a good location in the centre of town with car parking. The car park is underground and its a bit of an obstacle course to find your way to reception from it. The way from the car park was also a bit worn and grubby and as I was on my own I was a bit anxious that I had made a bad choice of hotel. I was only there for one night and the bed was probably the most comfortable I have ever had in any hotel anywhere - a great nights sleep. The room was well worn, a bit grubby, tired and in need of revamping or at least some attention. Weird lighting configuration. The staff here are amazing. They are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Absolutely top notch. The best thing about this hotel. The staff at breakfast were so welcoming and friendly and a great start to the morning but the breakfast itself was very disappointing. Canteen food served in a canteen style. For what I paid I would have expected better. So I didn't thing it was good value for money.
This hotel was formerly known as "Gallaghers Hotel" which resides on the top of the main street in Letterkenny. You can't miss it as you drive up from the Main road into Letterkenny and climb the Port Road. It has a huge glass frontage and sticks out among the older buildings in the area. To park you have to drive up the left hand side of the hotel up a steep hill and turn right into the car park some of which is underground. From the hotel you can step out onto the main street and explore the down. You can get parking on the main street if you are lucky but the cost is expensive so if staying in the hotel use the car park. The "Mc Gettigans" chain of Hotels took this over after the "crash" and have made an excellent job of keeping the recently renovated hotel into a great one. It doesn't have a swimming pool or gym but there is a large leisure center out the Glenties road which has lots of nice gyms and a large pool and running track etc. I wasn't staying here but dining and it is great value for carvery on a Sunday or even during the week. The service was excellent at the function I was attending a retirement party for my wifes work colleague. She was impressed that they could cater for her Gluten Free needs as she is Coeliac . The Guinness was good too and we partied on the top floor which has a marvellous view of the top of the town and beyond.
On way back from bus station I decided to treat myself to Sunday lunch. Was lucky to get a parking space on the main street near the hotel. As I was early the staff were putting the finishing touches to the displays but told me to have a seat. Lunch is carvery style with a good selection for all courses. I had turkey and ham for main course which was one of the best I ever had. The meat was cooked to perfection and tasty. Well worth the total cost of €18.
Enjoyed our stay here, its was a bank holiday weekend and it was quite busy. I think there was a stag or a hen on our floor, lots of glasses still waiting to be taken down when we got to our room. I think the lift might have been out of order or else very slow. Minor blips we enjoyed out stay, family room was adequate, breakfast was good and staff were friendly and helpful
Absolutely value for money , beautiful hotel, rooms spotless, staff so friendly, bar very reasonable, food amazing, very relaxing place to stay, shopping centre five minutes away, lots to see and do, will definitely be returning here again for a longer stay...Thank you for all the lovely staff there.went to Mallin Head scenery was amazing, well worth the visit.
Staff were exceptional - efficient, friendly, funny, welcoming. Full marks to the bar staff, waiting staff and the hard-pressed breakfast team [very busy] - food was excellent and good value. Room was a good size, clean [if slightly dated] and very comfortable. Highly recommended, and a big thank you to the staff.
