Very central hotel with parking. Bit of a trudge from the car park to reception but the receptionists were all very friendly and helpful. The corridors are pretty uninspiring which is a shame after the mezzanine and reception area. We were very satisfied with our room which had nice decor with a great variety of lighting options. The beds were very comfortable and the air con easy to adjust. Breakfast was your standard buffet served in the rather cold bistro with no atmosphere bistro. The hot food is plated for you. All in all value for money.
We stay just for one night, nice staff, good localization. Clean and nice room. Free Wifi, and bar - with good selection of drinks, food very nice and. Only One think , we have room beside the corridor door , so in the night time was little a bit a noisly
Good value hotel with parking and very helpful staff. Rooms are ok but in need of an update. The hallways etc are very dated.
First time visiting this hotel back in August and I can safely say that it is now my favourtie hotel. There is free parking facitilites behind the hotel which are easily accessed along with an underground car park but I didn't use this so unsure of how many spaces there is. Upon arrival I was greeted in a friendly and welcoming mannner and I was incredibly surprised and grateful to find out that I was upgraded to the suite. The room was very spacious with a comfy bed and comfy sitting area. The bathroom had a his and hers sink and a Jacuzzi bathtub. It also had a small dining table for eating at. It took me a while to realise that there was a door leading to a private balcony with a hot tub. The decor and flowers around the balcony made it look amazing and it would have been great for having a few drinks if the weather was better. The room itself was incredibly clean. There was an issue with the plugs in which they didn't work but when I informed reception it was dealt with in a very quick and efficient manner. The only downside of this hotel I would say would be the TV. I had two in the suite and both had terrible signal and every channel was fuzzy but I didn't mind as I was using the hot tub. I can't wait to come back to this hotel in the near future.
The hotel has a business touch but is OK for a short stay. The next door bar "the warehouse" is the place to go for nice food and live music (except on Champions League nights). The personnel in hotel and bar ate friendly and helpful.
We stayed in McGettigans Hotel on the Saturday night, checking in was quick and organised with a pre planned contract that the hotel emailed out. We had dinner in the Warehouse which is a bar to the side of the hotel but is still part of the building. The food was exceptional and even though we had planned to leave shortly after our meal we ended up staying on as there are upper level bars also. Lovely modern venue.
Good place to stay really friendly staff nice rooms really great location in centre of town breakfast was really good, pub next to hotel is good place to have a few drinks or more , only one negative if stay on third floor or above you need 2 lifts to reception
A single overnight - interesting layout to a hotel on a hill. My room was on the 2nd floor, but my car was parked outside my window, by coincidence! Right in the middle of town - went for a walk - struggled back up the hill in the rain - ah, well, it's Donegal! Receptionist was charming, both in the evening at check-in, and at departure. The food in the Warehouse was fine - filled a spot. Must have been laced with MSG, as the dreams were in "Technicolour" and "Surround Sound"!!! Room was comfortable and easy to control the heat. Bd was comfortable - a Queen size, with a single also in the room.
McGettigan's hotel is a fine hotel in the Main Street of Letterkenny. But we were surprised to say the least, when we were asked by the Receptionist during check-in to pay for our room in full, before we had even had a chance to see it! After all, they had my card number as authorisation. I reluctantly paid for the room in advance, but not before seeing it first! The fact that one must pay for the room in full during check-in isn't mentioned on the hotel booking website I used, or even on McGettigan's own website! I have stayed in many hotels all over the world and never have I experienced such treatment during check-in as I encountered in McGettigan's hotel! When enquiring about breakfast in the dining room the following morning, the waiter said that the cost was a set price. Just then, I remembered the Receptionist had said the day before, that breakfast would only cost €8.50 if we paid for it in advance at Reception. I said this to the waiter, who said that there was no difference in the price of breakfast. We had breakfast and when I went to pay the cashier (WHO INCIDENTALLY, WAS THE SAME WAITER WHO SERVED US), he charged me €19.90(or €9.95x2)! I feel that this is a very underhand way for an Irish three star hotel to behave, which ends up with the guest being cheated! I've stayed in many hotels worldwide and none of them had a dual pricing system for breakfast, which is not only unfair but downright misleading for hotel guests! I'm afraid, I couldn't recommend this hotel, in all honesty!
We stayed here from 22nd-24th September. Great stay here room was spacious, great beds and great big bathroom with good shower. The staff on reception were very friendly and loved the fact check out was 11am so meant we didn't have to rush after breakfast . The breakfast was good value with lots of choice. The warehouse bar next door gorgeous too. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back as the location means you are close to everything.
