The hotel is exceptionally large, housing numerous guests. A bit like a holiday camp. On arrival, we were handed our key, and told a vague direction to go to find our room. We found our room and ran a bath..... The water ran brown! We called reception and were told that they have a problem with the water and to run the tap for 20 minutes and if it doesn't clear, then they would move us. After 45 minutes, the water was running brown. The manageress came to our room and told us the entire area in Letterkenny has a problem with the water as it is in a 'peat' area, and the girl in reception was wrong. She moved us to a grand room, and ran the bath tap to prove this was the case. The water ran brown and was quite thick with soil / sediment?? Although we were grateful to for trying to sort it by moving us, we felt we had to go without washing or cleaning our teeth. Not a nice experience.
we stayed here from 21st - 23rd April had excutive suite (maybe there all excutive not sure) rooms were spacious with plenty of hangers in wardrobe also a mini fridge. beds were huge im 5'5 and would of needed a foot stool to get up apon lol.we used the pool, steam room sauna all were fab :) only down fall in room was the water was very dirty a brownie colour so to brush teeth we used bottled water. beautiful place to stay we will make another booking here again in the future.
Spent the Easter Weekend it's was honestly amazing, the room was fabulous (RM 152) Executive suite, breakfast is undeniably the best you'll ever have, staff are amazing Don't be put off by the Main Road, loved it, will be back 🖤
I stayed in the Clanree for one night on a business trip. It was my first visit to the hotel. I had a very long drive and it was late at night when I arrived. If I was family arriving at her home, the girl at reception could not have been any nicer or more helpful. It was a wonderful start to my short visit. The room I had was comfortable but very well used and I think in need of some refurbishment to freshen it up. But I slept well. Breakfast was wonderful with great choices. The same girl was on reception for my check out the next morning when I was greeted like a long lost friend. It was just lovely. I have a lovely warm memory of the Clanree Hotel and its a place I would certainly recommend.
I attended a crlebration for Easter Sundsy lunch & was blown away by the experirnce. I am vegan so rang ahead to see if tgey wld cater. Spoke with mgr "Katie" who cld not b any more helpful or friendly...even contacted me bck after spesking with chef. On arrival (& dedpite being crazy busy) i was told to spask with the chef "Ian" & he was amazing...& so was the food!!! yummy!!! ! Emma, our waitress, was attentive and very efficient. Thank you all so much for this experience!!
Clanree hotel is a very nice hotel with nice, big and clean rooms and a large bathroom. The only disadvantage is that the hotel is on a busy road, but on the other hand it makes it easily reachable. Staff in the hotel is very friendly and helpfull and the breakfast is extremely varied and good. Finally the free parking was very positive and their was space enough as well. All in all we liked our stay a lot!
We stayed here for a spa deal from groupon. Hotel was amazing plenty of parking. Rooms very clean and the twin rooms wth 2 double beds was great. There wasn't any air con and the room was very warm but when we informed reception it took them less than 5 minutes to sort a fan out for us! The water was discoloured but this wasn't really an issue as we didn't really need it. The swimming pool/spa area was grand and all the staff really were helpful!
Booked a two night stay from groupon with the wife. For the price of about £70 for the two nights, I wasn't expecting too much. However I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel provides plenty of parking. It is bright, modern and clean, the main lobby is very inviting and the staff are helpful and friendly. The rooms are well equipped and very modern. The water pressure in the shower would strip the skin from your bones which is great. We never used the leisure facilities however I believe you must wear a swimming hat which would put me off anyway. Not sure if this is a Clanree thing or an Irish thing. The bar attached was modern and served a good range of drinks and even made a non alcoholic cocktail (not on the menu) for my pregnant wife. Over all I was very impressed with the value for money and would return again.
Stayed here for 2days last week. Lovely hotel. Room was lovely, enjoyed the swimming pool, sauna and steam. Only disappointment was we paid for a dinner for one evening. We were given a voucher which states 3course set meal plus glass of wine. When we went into restaurant were told not set 3course menu so told to pick off bar menu. Only real starter was soup, or chowder which was €8.50 and we were told only up to the value if €25.which wasn't possible for a 3course meal. Also the waiter Said the glass of wine was included in the €25.so no way could you have a 3course meal. We ended up with 2coursewhich came to €44 so only 1could have a sweet. And then a waitress said oh yes you have a glass of wine because that isn't included in the €25.i think all your staff should be better informed. We felt we were ripped off. Needless to say we wouldn't eat there next evening.
Just back for a midweek break in the Clanree hotel. It was just lovely. From Shannon at check in to the staff in the bar (Sean & Jenna) they were really attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. We upgraded our room at check in and it was lovely. Very spacious and the beds are so comfy. We pain 7 euro in a taxi to the centre of the town which was fine and even the taxi drivers were lovely. The spax was a great hangover cure and the facial we got with Margaret in the spa was great. Cant wait until our next trip.
