The hotel is very nice, great helpful staff and really good service in the restaurant/bar. Breakfast was OK. Large swimming pool, free wifi (signal not in our room unfortunately). Grounds are lovely. We found a path that takes you around the forest area which we walked around a couple of times as we spotted some lovely birds, agouti with babies and a poison dart frog. I am not sure why there are no signs to this path? we found it after crossing a metal bridge over a stream, I am sure more people would be interested if they knew it was there! The drawback for us was the road outside as it is a 15 minute walk to the main area with the restaurants/bars and beach. The road is a dirt track that was very muddy and stony. At night the lighting isn't great so we would be walking in the mud and tripping over the stones to get back to the hotel. Better lighting and tarmac would help a lot!
Stayed here for 4 nights to visit Uvita, Dominical and surroundings. The room we stayed in had a well equipped kitchenette, very clean, comfortable and it included a buffet breakfast of some Costa rican and some western food. The swimming pool has a shallow end (our 4 year old could stand in it) and is surrounded by trees and plants. We saw about 20 species of birds (including 5 toucans one afternoon), lizards, butterflies, bugs, squirrels in the gardens. It is a well kept and well run place and good food in the restaurant. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. We drove to the village - its about a mile or so, plenty of places to eat, drink and shop, there - one of the most varied places in Costa Rica for restaurants etc. Villas Rio Mar is a very good option if you are travelling with children.
Very nice place to stay with family and friends. They have a nice restaurant with good food. The pool was excellent topportunity relax in after the whale watching tour. The staff was very friendly and spoke English. The price was very good. I was afraid when I booked the hotel at the low price that I would be disappointed but the hotel was great! Can't wait to come back again!
Nice rooms, with good bathroom. Very good restaurant with delicious food. Very kind and friendly people. Helling you with all your questions. Next time we will really go back to spend Some more time in thuis hotel.
I wish we had stayed here longer! Our room was a cabana with a porch with a fridge and sink. I appreciated that each cabana door is oriented away from the other cabanas and has views of nature. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom really large and modern. There is a tv and free wifi. The staff was extremely helpful in arranging tours and transportation. The restaurant and bar staff members were also friendly and the food was excellent - especially the tomato soup and seafood soup. The pool is very large and clean. The walk to town takes about 10 - 12 minutes along a road next to a river. There isn't too much traffic and we felt safe.
We stayed here for about 6 days. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Jose is exceptionally cheerful and helpful. Everyone was very attentive. The rooms were clean, the pool was fun! There is an amazing Maracuya (passion fruit) mouse and coffee flan that we loved!!
We enjoyed our stay at this fabulous hotel! All though we had a small accident (stitches on the head of our son), the owner (Victor) offered his fantastic support by driving us in his car to the hospital and doing the full translation. Great help!!!!
Nice villa situated in beautiful garden. Prive seating outside under roof with fan. Great pool. Good food at restaurant. Outdoor gym, tennisfield. Near river. Was there for one night (ongoing trip), but could have multiple nights
This hotel was a stopover for us and had some ups and downs. Things that could have been better start with the lackluster staff at the reception. We were misinformed about a few things (Check in was at 3pm, we were not informed of a place to leave our bags. I asked for a pedicure, they said they would arrange it and let me know when it was possible. After three hours I inform again and it turns out -in a bizarre twist of events - they don't even have it at the hotel.) When we asked for a cart for our luggage we were sent in a general direction of where we might find a cart. The general vibe was so un-Costa Rican that it was very noticeable to us. For the first time this holiday I felt like the staff could care less if we enjoyed our stay. This doesn't apply to everyone, but definitely to several people who seems to enjoy their phones more than their jobs. The rooms are standard motel standard. Quite small, bad/grainy tv-signal, wifi was non-existent in the room and slow in common areas. Beds were good, aircon a bit outdated, but worked well. Bathroom was clean, large and well-equipped. The rooms were quiet, no trouble with noises from other rooms. The grounds are beautiful with a well-maintained garden and plenty of wildlife. There is some fitness-equipment available outside. The food in the restaurant is not very good. The taste is so-so, the menu is nothing special. A little overpriced for what you get. The pool is really nice, there is ample parking space, but I think there are better places to stay in the same price-range.
The garden is just beautiful the hotel is super clean the room is confortable and also the restaurant is very good I had a problem with the behaviour of one of the receptionist but the manager was very nice great option
