Een mooi compleet ingericht en uitgerust huis. Nieuwe moderne keuken met alle benodigde apparatuur (incl. inductie kookplaat en friteuse) die toch geen afbreuk doet aan de authenticiteit van de voormalige stal dat het huis eigenlijk is. Het huis is de middelste van een rijtje van drie en hoewel het wat gehorig is van en naar de buren (vaste bewoners) aan beide zijden is dat in onze ervaring niet storend. In de (volledig bestrate) tuin is het heerlijk zitten, ondanks de ligging aan de doorgaande weg. (Maar in een redelijk afgelegen dorp dus druk is het absoluut niet) Met de bbq ernaast is daar een prima avond te genieten. De eigenaresse woont in de straat achter en direct tegenover de achterdeur en is vriendelijk en betrokken. De kerk naast het rijtje huizen is niet meer actief als kerk maar wordt, naar wij hebben begrepen, gebruikt als cultureel centrum. Geen drukte voor de deur op zondagochtend dus! De klokken in de klokkentoren zijn nog wel in functie. Elk uur de tijd en om 20:00u luiden ze wat langer. De toren staat echter ten opzichte van het huis aan de andere kant van het gebouw en klinken niet heel hard. Wij hadden onze hond mee. Haar uitlaten was steeds even een wandeling omdat er in het dorp zelf bijna geen groen is te vinden. Net buiten het dorp (drie straten door de helling af. Let op; je moet ook weer terug ;-)) is een lange maar doodlopende zijstraat waar honden los kunnen lopen. Er mogen twee auto's voor de deur geparkeerd worden maar omdat dat stuk asfalt gedeeld wordt met de buren staan deze al gauw (gevoelsmatig) in de weg. En omdat je ook niet steeds tegen je auto aan wil kijken als je lekker in de tuin zit, parkeerden wij regelmatig op het plein achter de kerk, 50 meter verderop. Dat is goed te doen. Wij hebben een prima verblijf gehad in Gymnée. Het is wat verder weg (half uurtje rijden) van alle (toeristische) activiteit maar dat zorgt ook rust. En je kan heerlijk wandelen in de directe omgeving.

Gastvrouw is enorm vriendelijk maar spreekt geen woord engels of nederlands, dus met mijn beetje frans ben ik er nog wel gekomen. Haardhout is blijkbaar verplicht af te nemen en kost 5 euro per zak meer ineens dus 20 ipv 15 euro. Helaas was de beloofde babybox niet aanwezig, wel een beetje maar die is niet zomaar naar beneden te tillen. Dit was echt heel erg een probleem met een 2,5 maanden oude baby
