A 5 star hotel with antique feeling. Excellent staffs with good service. Rooms are pretty small. breakfast was excellent with many options. The lobby also has limited space. Didn't quite like the location
I've been staying regularly at this hotel since 2013 and apart from the fact that it is dry, (well after all it is Doha), the standard of the hotel is good - bordering great. The main foyer is a very good location to meet clients and waiters no instinctually when not to interrupt you. The staff are mostly central European and will remember you by name if you are a repeat visitor! In general they are extremely well managed, polite and genuinely friendly. The rooms were not designed for the furniture which fills them, so somebody screwed up somewhere. You will struggle to find a plug in the right space and will often have to move the writing desk to plug-in your telephone! The location is about 20 minutes from the Hammad Airport but like anywhere in Doha it is adjacent to a building site and struggles with traffic jams as the infrastructure of the city is being totally renewed in preparation for the World Cup. The hotel lacks a swimming pool and the gym is not adequately stocked. The hotel has a number of restaurants, Moroccan, Asian, and a main restaurant. Overall the food is excellent! It's important to mention the Turkish barber "Ali", on the second floor who is a true artist, and gave me the best haircut I have had in years.
We spent the night here as a result of the cancellation of our flight from Thailand and therefore missing our connecting flight home. We were transferred to this hotel and straight away were amazed by the grandeur of the reception area. The gentlemen who assisted us on reception were extremely helpful and even upgraded us to the executive suite for the night. Later on in the evening we were further advised upon changing our currency, and as we wanted to venture out and explore more of this amazing city, the gentlemen on the concierge desk directed us towards the nearest shopping mall, and even called us a taxi so that we could take pictures of the skyline at The Corniche. He even showed the taxi driver the picture of the place we wanted to visit and asked him to wait whilst we took pictures before bringing us back to the hotel. We were escorted to our room which was extremely elegant and of a high standard. This included a small toilet, a dining area, a sitting area with TV and desk, and a separate and comfortable bedroom complete with a king size bed, further sitting area and TV, and an en suite shower and bathroom. Complimentary bottled water was also supplied as well as tea and coffee making facilities. We were provided with access to a buffet restaurant which i believe was reasonably priced. There was plenty of variety and options with food clearly labelled. The dining area was clean and spacious and the food was delicious. The desert was well presented and delightful.
I had a lovely two weeks' stay at Wyndham Grand Regency Doha. It's a very sophisticated and elegant hotel, perfect for a family trip. I found the staff to be extremely polite and accommodating. Ranging from the office staff to the waiters, and the lower staff, everyone made their utmost effort to make me and my family feel at home and comfortable at the hotel. The hotel has a beautiful interior. I spent most of my free time in the lobby which is artistically decorated with paintings. Great service of the lobby cafe, also. The boufet served at the Gourmet Restaurant deserves a special mention for the quality and variety of dishes that are served. Most worthy of praise are the supervisors in different departments, for example, Mr. Mehmood and Ms. Iman in the sales department; the duty managers, Mr. Ahmed, Mr. Hisham and Ms. Anestesia; Mr. Ashraf and Maeeta at the reception. Any queries and problems I had were given special attention to by the kind people mentioned above. I would also like to extend a special thanks to the Sushi chef Camilia. - Mr. Jamil Ahmed Khan and family.
I have never stayed in this hotel however I have frequented the spa on numerous occasions. This spa is my favourite, the staff are so very welcoming and professional. There are a wide range of treatments available and the staff are very knowledgable about the different techniques used. I recently had shoulder surgery when I went for a massage and the staff changed my booking without any hesitation after talking me through different treatments that would suit my needs. The therapists are excellent and I have never had a negative experience, would fully recommend this to everyone! (It is also on the entertainer app which makes it even better!)
This hotel is slightly off the beaten track adjacent to the landmark Sports Roundabout so everyone will know it's location. It's appearance and interior I would say caters for Middle Eastern clients. The interiors particularly the lift interiors are a bit worn but acceptable. Rooms are well appointed. Breakfast is a standard affair but adequate. There is an outdoor swimming pool that is more like a plunge pool with jacuzzis and a large lounging area. We chose the Wyndham for business reasons and we can say it's a good choice.
The hotel is nice with good location. Check in was smooth. Rooms are a bit smallish compared to five star hotels and a bit old. Service is excellent and housekeeping are very responsive with quick actions. Food is average with little choices. All in all, I recommend it for buisiness travellars.
Wyndham Grand Regency hotel near sports roundabout is a very beautifully built hotel with modern amenities and luxurious life style. The hotel has very courteous and excellent staff who work day & night to look after the comfort of its guests. The hotel has free wifi at almost all its locations, nice swimming pool, aptly stocked gym, enthralling lobby, fine dinning in facilities and smiling faces all around. The rooms are very nicely laid with modern facilities, giving good night sleep and comfortable home like living. A good place to spend short or extended stay in Doha. Loved it.
If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the Doha area The Wyndham Grand Regency is your choice! Aesthetically it is delightful with almost a throwback decor both outside and inside. It is clean with comfortable beds and spacious rooms. It is conveniently located about 2 miles from the souk waqif and Doha Corniche..... about a $5 cab ride. The downside is if you plan on eating at the hotel restaurant take out a small loan. Prices are out of sight for regular people. Also, not much in walking distance to eat outside the hotel. You would have to take a cab. Overall , I would highly recommend the Grand Regency. Quality hotel at reasonable rates.
Airport pick up was very friendly and was answering all my questions about Doha which help me a lot. the limousine was very relaxing and well maintained-The perfect pick up and drop off. The lobby, extremely luxurious with soft classic lights and colors. Hotel check-in was very fast which surprised me and the reservation staff was well mannered and friendly. The room I was in was very wide and open with a sitting area set with a long sofa, a wide desk that was convent for me to do my work, internet was fast and a live wire to plug in the laptop as a second option ready for you at the desk. I had my own espresso-machine in the room not all hotels offer that as an in room amenity. all what I needed was in the room already had all the amenities ready some of the hotels have that but on call which is annoying. It was very quite and housekeeping kept my room well maintained and exactly the same as a check in room every day, fresh & clean. Restaurants - I didnt have any problem with what i wanted to have for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Grand gourmet served international cuisines and open buffet for all 3 meals. chopsticks restaurant serves Asian, and Tangia serves Moroccan all in this one hotel, I have nothing to say about the food other then well done , everything was well done to the point lavish menus and really tasty food. It was a wonderful relaxing and extremely comfortable stay. Thank you Wyndham Grand Regency for this wonderful experience and amount of care given.
