Qatar Airways booked me into the hotel due to a missed connection and an enforced 24 hours lay over. The rooms were adequate but the hotel facilities are very poor even for a four star hotel. The swimming pool is small with no towels readily available. The leisure facilities - hot tub and sauna - need updating. It was Ramadan so breakfast was served in an upper room with limited selection. The location seemed far from shopping malls and other attractions. It is not a hotel I would pick if I had to pay for it.
We had the worst service imaginable. Actually we were offered this hotel during our transit because the airport hotel was unavailable. As we entered there was no light in the room. Then the AC couldn't be operated as it was broken. Next, all except one light switch was functional. Then the wi-fi wasn't working. Then even the phone was broken. And the worst part was they didn't gave us a wake-up call the next morning which they were supposed to. We could have missed our flight. And when we encountered at the reception about why they did not give us a wakeup call, the receptionist sheepishly grinned and said they forgot. Though we were there just on a transit we are definitely NOT going to the place again and won't recommend anyone too.
Overnight stay in Doha, nice new hotel, staff and accomodation lovely. During Ramadan. Restaurant was closed during the day. They set up a restaurant on the 19th floor for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast limited to chicken sausage, hard boiled egg over cooked with black around yoke. Salad fine. Coffee pretty poor. The beans were heated ok 😏. Toaster, even on slow didn’t toast bread. Generally poor for a 4 star hotel. Lunch was generally better, nice curry lamb, meat a little tough but a well made curry. Oven baked fish was great. Was going to give a better review for lunch until I tried the pita bread which was old and stale. Room was lovely, view was the high rise next door. Had a look at the restaurant which was set for the evening meals and look very nice. There were beautiful flowers in the reception. Roses and small chrysanthemum flowers. But they had zero scent, these mass produced flowers were very disappointing and I wonder if we are really improving the quality of life with these types of products.
Its exactly opposite beach.. but beach not accessible. Hotel is good for the price. Wifi-Good Rooms size-Good Staff-Good Breakfast- Average (no vegetarian) Gym-Average. Might good for business travelers. Got a nice sea view from 18th floor.
The room was very comfortable with all of the expected amenities. It's an easy walk from the hotel to the corniche and the sites of Doha. The lobby/reception area is very nice. I would stay here again!
I stayed in this place with my friends and it did not disappoint me. Staff are all attentive and very friendly. I like the gym and sauna except for the pool because its too small. Affordable price for the food. You can notice alot of clients are taking out food from the restaurant. I think these are clients from certain company who are staying in this hotel for sometime. Overall, satisfied with my stay and will visit again.
Having visited this hotel on many occasions I knew what it had to offer. Previous visits had been punctuated with noisy episodes which have been a real nuisance. This visit the hotel was reasonably quiet. The staff were great and the food reasonable. My main gripe would relate to the gym. As part of the facilities on offer the hotel advertises a gym. The gym was only ever average but it has deteriorated and now appears unkempt, dirty and tired. This needs addressing before it becomes a safety concern.
I stayed at the Retaj for 2 months during a work contract and was not disappointed in the standard of the hotel, service from the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms. I was welcomed from day one by superb reception staff, Managers and security personnel who are so attentive and helped to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is either working in Doha as the rooms are very comfortable for long stays or if your on holiday it is in the ideal location in West Bay. Room Service is excellent and I did use the restaurant occasionally for dinner which was superb, excellent food choices, excellent service anytime of the day or night. A fantastic hotel with a very warm welcome and nice atmosphere.
Amazing. Friendly. Helpful. Clean. Professional. Great location. Would stay again for sure and will definitely suggest this hotel to anyone visiting Doha. p.s we are a gay male couple, perhaps not so obvious, and we felt very welcomed and safe at Retaj Al Rayyan. Shokran!
Highlights of the Hotel -- *The hotel is located at one of the best spots in Qatar and view from the room is amazing . *There is a city centre mall nearby for small shopping and for kids to play. *The rooms are big and comfortable with all amenities required. * very luxurious interiors in the lobby and reception Drawbacks-- * no much service from the reception in helping you with the luggage or to show you the room when you first check in *The room cleaning is absolutely slow *Dental kit is provided only on request and you will have to call them at least twice *when you order food to the room..the service is very slow that you get hung up. * breakfast if not included in room charge is expensive * less or no Attention is given to customers/guests.
