This hotel is directly observing Gulf - nice view. Rooms are big and very clean. Parking is available. Food was very good. Walking distance to City center shopping mall. Walking distance from Hilton for bar and Sheraton nearby as well.
Stayed one night on a Qatar Airways stopover. Check in was smooth, room was nice - good view, decent bed, pretty regular stuff for its class. Mangement was weak, but could have to do with the time (I was there for a few hours at night) - I asked for bath gel, took a few calls to get some. - Front desk told me the pool and gym were closed. The gym was indeed closed but the pool was not. - The kitchen was supposed to be 24*7 but when I called for an omlette, the said it would be available at 6 AM. Later they suggested I have the buffet instead - which indeed was a better deal. It was 20 mins from the airport. Smooth ride at 11 PM and 6 AM. All in all, I was pretty satisfied. Oh yes, there are only few power outlets in the room and you might need converters.
In fairness we didn't pick this hotel but stayed in transit due to missed connecting flights. Staff all very helpful however the room we were allocated was distinctly tired and the bathroom, whilst spacious, was in need of an overhaul with a lot of mould evident.
As a solo woman traveler, I felt very safe and well taken care of at this hotel. I had a fabulous room with a view, with a comfortable bed and bathrobe. The restaurant is great for breakfast and I had room service for dinner, which was very affordable. The pool is a bit small and since it's partially enclosed, it gets pretty loud if there are lots of people trying to use it. The hotel is very close to the downtown mall and city center. I'd definitely stay here again.
We stayed here in transit. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The food was plentiful and excellent. The towels were remarkably large and thick. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They even arranged for the hotel car to take us to and pick us up from the souq. The only two downsides were that the TV did not work and there was not enough shampoo and conditioner, which led to my purchasing an unknown brand outside that should have been sold as jet engine lubricant. Very funny, except for the three days it took to get it out of my hair... Word to the wise: just ask housekeeping for more shampoo, don't try to find your own!
Not by choice, but having more then 15 hours transit this was booked for us for the $250 USD that we paid in advance , location was its close to city centre and it was clean and tidy the staff helpful but for this price not so great as it smells mouldy and the bathroom looks tired , would try somewhere else next time.
I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. It was like home for me and everyone took a great care of me. The management are hands on, the hotel is clean, excellent and personalized service at all levels and they improved the food throughout my stay. I had a great time. Hotel need some refurbishment.
This was the hotel provided to us by Qatar airlines during a long layover. It is 30 minutes from the airport in the so called embassy area of the city. There is a shuttle bus to and from the airport . The check in process was smooth. We arrived at the end of Ramadan and there was an Arabian style tent offering free coffee and dates. The room was very clean. We stayed there on both legs of our trip. The second time, we had some problem with the ( lack of) hot water in the shower. However it was 4:00 am and the water temperature was warm enough to let me take a shower. The dinner buffet was very good and with excellent quality. Staff very courteous. No alcoholic beverages ( I don't know if because of holiday or because of local law). There is a big shopping mall 3 blocks away. The shuttle back to the airport was right on time.
We stayed in this hotel for one night using Qatar airlines through their complimentary hotel stay included in our airfare. They took about an hour for them to come get us from the airport and that made us feel a little uneasy; like we were going to get ripped off. But they finally showed up and started the long drive to what it felt like the other side of town. This hotel was a good 30-45 minutes from the airport so it consumed a little bit of our sleep time. This hotel looks like it was very luxurious back in its glory days. Right now, it is in a little need for some tender-loving care as it is showing signs of age. The sink and the shower/tub were plugged up and the room smelled musty. However, they do have an electric kettle and tea/instant coffee. I believe there was also a mini fridge. The room had two individual beds and a desk. A bidet in the bathroom and the fact that they have a tub will please people traveling with kids. There is free-wifi in the room which was very nice. There was also a very elegant and traditional looking restaurant in the lobby area. We arrived very late at night so we couldn't try the food. I am grateful for the complimentary accommodations and it served our purpose during this trip; which was to get a few hours of sleep before continuing our long journey. However, I don't know if I would have been satisfied if we had paid for this hotel.
I have stayed 3 times in this hotel during my visit to Qatar. The hotel is very nice with very good rooms and the service is also good. They also provide cab service for pickup and drop to and from airport.
