Having visited this hotel on many occasions I knew what it had to offer. Previous visits had been punctuated with noisy episodes which have been a real nuisance. This visit the hotel was reasonably quiet. The staff were great and the food reasonable. My main gripe would relate to the gym. As part of the facilities on offer the hotel advertises a gym. The gym was only ever average but it has deteriorated and now appears unkempt, dirty and tired. This needs addressing before it becomes a safety concern.
I stayed at the Retaj for 2 months during a work contract and was not disappointed in the standard of the hotel, service from the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms. I was welcomed from day one by superb reception staff, Managers and security personnel who are so attentive and helped to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is either working in Doha as the rooms are very comfortable for long stays or if your on holiday it is in the ideal location in West Bay. Room Service is excellent and I did use the restaurant occasionally for dinner which was superb, excellent food choices, excellent service anytime of the day or night. A fantastic hotel with a very warm welcome and nice atmosphere.
Amazing. Friendly. Helpful. Clean. Professional. Great location. Would stay again for sure and will definitely suggest this hotel to anyone visiting Doha. p.s we are a gay male couple, perhaps not so obvious, and we felt very welcomed and safe at Retaj Al Rayyan. Shokran!
Highlights of the Hotel -- *The hotel is located at one of the best spots in Qatar and view from the room is amazing . *There is a city centre mall nearby for small shopping and for kids to play. *The rooms are big and comfortable with all amenities required. * very luxurious interiors in the lobby and reception Drawbacks-- * no much service from the reception in helping you with the luggage or to show you the room when you first check in *The room cleaning is absolutely slow *Dental kit is provided only on request and you will have to call them at least twice *when you order food to the room..the service is very slow that you get hung up. * breakfast if not included in room charge is expensive * less or no Attention is given to customers/guests.
Excellent location, top facilities, efficient staff and quality food- I highly recommend this hotel. Staff give personal attention to the needs of the individual guest. Huge commendation to Ahmed Mokhtar, Jamal, Karim, Abdullah, Rizza, Liesel and Saliem. Such persons make a stay in Retaj a top class experience. I utilise every single facility in this hotel and am able to comment in detail Rooms: spacious, great beds, large bathrooms, homely feel. Mini bar and safe as well as great cupboard space. Restaurant: for breakfast expect express options with swift service matched to a low price. For lunch, expect variety, an interactive chef, leisurely service. In room dining is especially high quality and well priced. Spa: world class facilities, excellent massage options and good prices for West Bay. Gym: treadmill, bikes and weights with top of the range stretch mats. Friendly staff here make using the equal breeze Pool: medium size with a sea view, plunge pool and seating area. I like the roofed but outdoors concept Business centre: plush interior, swift service and extended hours make for a valuable service Valet and concierge: dedicated staff offering several options tailored to the individual. Safety remains of paramount importance Foyer and reception: a stunning waterfall with choice design and robust reception staff give an accurate frontline reflection of retaj. Unlimited WiFi, a shoe polish station, 24 hour reception and concierge, on-site executive management, Privelage card option, fast lifts, coffee shop and top of the range cooling systems, retaj Al Rayyan hotel is truly a glorious offering a stones throw away from the city centre and a short walk to the corniche. It is competitively priced, beautifully decorated and most deserving of four stars. Once more congratulations to Ahmed Mokhtar who introduced me to this hotel and who serves as an outstanding management member in this establishment. Book now.
Stayed here with my family for a one night while connecting flights in Doha. The lobby promises much more than the actual hotel delivers. Rooms have seen its best and are in need of renovation, cleaning is so so, Windows were dirty and I felt that smiles from the staff were not very genuine. Rooms are decent size and there is wifi, pool and gym at the location. Breakfast and lunch provide good variety but somehow lack little in taste and quality. There is nothing to see around the hotel and probably I would choose differently if visiting again in the area.
This may have been a 5 star quality hotel when it was built 30 odd years ago but it’s seriously in need of an renovation to get anywhere near the standard of the 3 or genuine 5 star hotels that are within 300 yards. Rooms are ok, if a bit dilapidated. The bathrooms are very dated and poorly designed. If you pay around $70-$80 p/night then it’s a good place to stay.
The staff here are very nice and I like the rooms here. But the gym area is a disaster...they never change the water bottle..there are no cups to drink the water from...are we meant to lie on the floor and drink it like that? In the sauna the staff use there use it to dry their used hand towels. The gym is not maintained properly and is making the hotel look bad. They have 3 people as staff for the gym and no one cares about the maintenance they are just concerned about massages and haircuts. So so bad. Someone it the hotel needs to wake up and take charge and responsibility for that area.
I stayed at the Retaj Al Rayyan for a few nights. Good things at this hotel is the breakfast, room size, beds are pretty good and location is great. The gym is super basic, but for somebody who knows what to do - its enough. Communication is pretty average, like in any other hotel in the region.
I stayed in Retaj Al Rayyan with a group, as well as, - with a friend. Good things: - Location - best, so far! - Room size - big - No alcohol - my preference Points that can be improved: - Quality of their customer service is definitely questionable. I would recommend the hotel to train the staff better and have more English speaking staff - Cleanliness - was not done up to the standard of a normal 4* hotel. I stayed in their suite and it had some pencil lines drawn by kids (for sure) on them - Water - water temperature was not easy to acquire - Food - they definitely need to upgrade their lobby restaurant chef's skills as well as in-room dining. - Bed - not comfortable in the suite Basically, this is a very good place to stay the night if you are out all day working or exploring and just come back to sleep the night.
