This hotel is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at. When being greeted you are greeted by some of the nicest people in the city with a grand entrance. However, when going up you will be intimidated by the grand facade of the St.Regis hotel but Don't! the st.regis itself might be nicer on the outside and inside but if you are coming for the beach or relaxation the interconitnetal's beach is way better and larger than the St.Regis as I went to dinner in the St.Regis. if you are looking to spend more time in town and are looking for a more luxurious stay as a couple, group or single stay in St.Regis However if you are looking to relax in the resort and use the Large Beach and pool and also the Beautiful Spa definitely stay at the Intercontinental.
Fabulous hotel service excellent especially the staff in club lounge. Rooms spacious and cleaned and fresh supplies always available. Food excellent too. The sea was great too and plenty of sun lounges in sun or shade
Stayed at the IC Doha Club Wing on a recent stopover in Qatar and had a very enjoyable stay. The Club Wing is relatively new and on arrival we were taken to a private check in on the Club Lounge floor. Check in was fast and efficient with friendly staff - all aspects of the Club offerings were explained fully. Our room was spacious and well designed with a large comfortable bed, sofa and desk area with a lovely sea/pool view. All electrical plugs were UK 3 pin square which was very useful for us to charge up our phones, laptops, headphones etc. The hotel is a little way out of the City Centre and airport and traffic can be heavy - the hotel do run a free shuttle to the City Centre Mall and Souq Waqif which could be useful but taxis/Uber are cheap. We enjoyed the pool area which was large with lots of sunbeds and a huge pool - I noticed a good children's play area under cover and a small round shallow pool for them too. The beach and garden area were clean and very well tended and there is also a large well equipped gym. The Club Lounge was very comfortable with an outdoor terrace - I must mention the member of staff Nasseem who looked after us so well during our stay he was very proactive during breakfast/afternoon tea and evening service and took great pleasure in advising us on what we could see in Doha. He mentioned the Katara Cultural Village nearby - advising at the moment there is a lot of construction going on but if we followed his directions we could easily walk to it and it was well worth a visit. The food offerings at the Club were extensive, the breakfast buffet had the usual cereals, cold meats and a full printed cooked to order menu was available (nice Eggs Benedict). Afternoon tea was presented on a tiered cake stand with different savoury items each day and of course scones, cream and jam. The evening canapes were brought hot from the kitchen and usually consisted of 3 different elements and if you liked a particular one you could request extra plates. Evening drinks were always topped up regularly and always with a smile. If I return to Doha I would happily rebook this IC and definitely a Club Room - which is really worth the extra.
It's pleasure to take dinner here. Great food and good service by omkumar and nice manager mr.reda.i will recommend this hotel. Definitely we wii back again. It's really good oyster fish counter. We enjoy here.
Every time I go to Doha, I have to stay in this hotel. the rooms are spacious, modern, clean and have an incredible view over the Arabian Sea and the beach. the beach and pool are just amazing and the sports centre too. Staff are very friendly and accommodate every request. The choice of restaurants is also superb. Good for families but also for business, if you have a meeting, as it is situated a bit far away from the city, consider a 20 minutes ride, if there is traffic, to the business district.
An extremely comfortable hotel. Spacious rooms including all necessities and more. Lobby is vast. The gardens surrounding the hotel and the large pool are astonishing. There is a night club so avoid staying in the low level rooms. Would definitely stay in it again when in Doha.
Really wanna thanks to Amit from golf club for a wonderful service n the way he took care of me n my friends n he is having great knowledge about Doha as well the way he mention n suggests to my friends was really appreciated... thanks Amit cu again on next visit
First stayed here in 2005 when most of West Bay was still under construction. A lot has changed since then and the hotel has been renovated & service improved. Some elements still need an upgrade but generally very happy to stay here again.
We went to the Intercontinental hotel in Qatar for a birthday. Upon entering the lobby, the lady whom had her birthday saw a bouquet of roses and took a single rose, so one of the security came and advised it was not allowed so we kindly informed security that it was her birthday and it wouldn't happen on any other occasion. Security informed that they will go and ask their Manager on duty Mr Anif. Now you'd expect the manager of the hotel like the Intercon to come and wish the lady a happy birthday. Instead he sent the security to say no exceptions will be allowed and the single rose has to be returned.
The amenities could have earned them 5* but my experience during our stay yesterday is not so pleasant. We went to celebrate my husband's birthday. I informed at booking that it is a special day. Nothing was prepared so come that afternoon I called the operator to check. We are not expecting more special than a small cake or anything just to add some glow to our day. One of the core values in hospitality industry is to delight their guest, which unfortunately was not delivered. We did not feel any sort of personalized service despite our request. At the pool area, I asked the staff for towels, I was told to bring my card to the reception and take the towels from there. In all the hotels we stayed with, we were always handed towels and served with cold bottle of water in our lounge. It's our first time here so I thought it was the practice to get your own towels. So I went my way there only to see the same guy serving towels to other guest, and so I ask him are you gonna give us towels too. I would like to believe it is not because of me being Asian and the other guests being from the other part of the globe. Our room at the 2nd floor is not sound-proof. We can clearly hear next door the crying baby, kids and ladies who keeps on banging doors or walls.. and the music from outside is up until past midnight. Despite the unpleasant experience, I would still consider this hotel a good place for staycation. Spacious room, clean beach and well-thought of pool design, indoor and outdoor play area for kids. Minus the un-met expectations, my kids enjoyed their time. I may still consider coming back and hopefully to experience 5-star service in the future. After all, this hotel has my favorite restaurant, Coral Restaurant which serve different international cuisine depending on theme for the night and the sushi bar serving wide variety of sushi and sashimi daily. Coral also has superb polite staff who deserve not to be stereotyped with the staff I encountered yesterday. Definitely recommending everyone to visit Coral.
