Great hotel, but its shame that its closed now?? I hope they will open it soon. I like especially that its not so big so it has good atmosphere and its not overcrowded during dinners, breakfasts etc...
best hotel in Djerba (Tunesia) with perfect services, nice location, nice beach close to hotel. Meal was perfect. It is but quite far from airport. There was 2 pools (one was quiet), sport's activities (beach volleyball, mini golf,..)
It was the first time I went to Djerba and Tunisia. The hotel is okay for a stay of one week... But I wouldn't stay here any longer. The food is really not the best. I really had some bad problems with my stomach. So I stayed with noodles, pizza and frites for a whole week. But the waiters were always friendly. The staff was really nice and always friendly. The room was cleaned every day and very good. We were at the relaxing pool in the mornings and went to the beach for afternoon (hard to get an umbrella and a deck chair, but in the ende we always got one). The pools are very clean und nice to swim in. What we really liked, was the fact, that you got free drinks everywhere (beach an pool) and anytime. You even got bottles of water for your hotel room. (Neighbours had an "all inclusive hotel on Djerba and they had to pay the drinks). The rooms were really good. I've never had such a big closet in a hotel. It's even bigger than my at home. Beds were comfortable und the loggia was nice. In the end I would say, the hotel was okay for the price we payed. I would also come back to Djerba, but probably another hotel...
Quite nice hotel with good choise of food. Sandy beach with acceptable water quality. Staff were friendly and we had no problem. We traveled in 2 people with all inclusive. Bottled water without limit was in all inclusive.
Overall my experience at Club Calimera was that of a positive one. You cannot go there expecting luxury 5 star as it is not. The rooms were in good condition and cleaned every day, even leaving nice towel decorations on the bed. We had a room overlooking the entrance of the hotel, it was very quiet as it on the other side of the building where they hold all of the beach/pool parties. All of the staff were welcoming, however there was a bit of a language barrier as 98% of guests are German. The food was not something I could complain about there was always a very large selection of food and it was always being restocked. Unless you decide to have lunch in the restaurant on the beach the Germans line up 2 hours prior and take all the food. That was the only shame about this place is that it has been taken over by rude and arrogant Germans! They used their hands to take the food and took all of it even if they did not finish. They are always lining up to take beer as soon as it opens at 10am!!!! You get one complimentary night at the actual restaurant which was lovely. The beach is what made this holiday so memorable! It is a dream. Obviously there was a bit of seaweed but if you go really early in the morning the tide is extremely low you can walk out to the water 100m and see your feet so clearly it was spectacular. We made good friends with one of the men with a horse on the beach his name was Bensamar and his horse Cesar. He was really lovely, as were all the others trying to sell you things he even took us out for a night in Djerba for some coffee. Overall, I had a great time the beach is what will convince me to go there again. For a cheap holiday, I think I got more than what I paid for!
Don't expect good food, DO NOT EXPECT an umbrella if you do not wake up arround 06.00/06.30 , (germans are fast in the morning :), the beach&wather are SUPERB , the rest it's up to you to make your trip the way you like it!Aaah, just old people, or fam with lots of kids so if you are searching for fun, i don't think you found the right place.
Just returned from last minute deal at carimera in djerba, I've requested a quiet room at the booking and also at arrival, the receptionist saw I had a 4 year old and 10 year girls, we got a old room next to pool, so that was ok, until the first disco on Wednesday from beach started, survived it, ok then disco from hotel next door, but ok, not carimera fault, then disco on Saturday until 1am, my bed was shaking with the drum base, both girls crying so, at midnight I went angrily to the reception, he was friendly but could not do anything only to lower the volume, nothing happended, I have to mention the hotel has over 300 rooms, and on the disco floor there were only 10 people dancing. Basically the local animation team wanted for their benefit nice disco, not realising the horror in guests rooms with drum base. Although I have to mention also that the staff was helpfull and friendly, pool guard alwas on the look out for safety, food not good, very boring, not local food at all, just once couscous, if you are lucky they grill fish and that is very good. The beach nice, but only when you found sun beds as rude germans put their towels there early in the morning. Room very old, used bathroom with cockroaches the size of toy cars. Overall I'll never return to this disco place, fit for young couples and older couples, but never with kids. Sorry guys, but hope your management will read it and improve!
I was really excited to see such a nice white sand beaches in Djerba. Just three hours from Prague! I can recommend this place to everyone, no matter if you travel in couple or with your familly. Wonderful beach, comfortable hotel with kind staff, high-standard service and friendly people all around... we will definitely come back again!
Hotel is nice with own private beach, with good swimming pools , minigolf beautifull garden, tenis court and little bit painful night entertiment for german tourist which is about 80% of guests. Food and fruits ws Ok and tasty. Sea and beach is average. Surrounding is rock and dust so you must stay in the hotel.Good for older people or famillies. Young people will be bored to death.
