Excellent location close to train station and downtown, with multiple Tram lines in front of the hotel. The room is on the small side but adequate. But it seems the hotel put English speakers on the first room of each floor, facing the elevator. That is just two data points. I was assigned 101, which I am not too happy about. Next day, during breakfast, most guests are french speakers, but the English speaking guest, his room is 401. One day, I was out and about all day. But when I came back at 4PM, the room was not even cleaned. I went out having a drink, but it rained, so I came back. I saw my room open, and it was just been cleaned. I had to wait in the hall way for it to be cleaned, and I eventually told the person not to vacuum the room. The other gripe I have is the breakfast bacon. They have a pot of bacon, but when you opened, it looks they are all been steamed, with fats still on and all white. I am not sure, maybe that is the way they do bacon there.
Not bad experience ! The room can easily be find, rooms are not too big not too small , the service is exceptional , really one of the strong point here, Easy to find and easy to park . Good global experience !
The location of this hotel couldn't be better, whilst its garage was useful as we were on a touring holiday in the car. The hotel is smart and comfortable but rather expensive. The only complaint is about the bathroom which has a strange design - the shower is over the bath which is quite difficult to get into if you are not tall, and does not provide an overhead shower, only hand held. Ultra modern and beautiful but not very functional. There was some difficulty getting sufficient hot water for a shower in the morning, which is not what you expect at this quality and price of hotel.
Very nice traditional hotel. Comfortable beds and nice atmosphere. In the centre of town walking distance from shops and restaurants. Excellent breakfast and good service. Highly recommended. It also has private parking.
Car parking signage is poor. Bartender indifferent to say the best...tried to charge me for all drinks at my table even though others arrived separately...then told me the bill couldn’t be separated even though I identified my liabilities on the draft bill. Shockingly poor attitude. Strangely, when I wouldn’t budge it *was* possible to only pay my liabilities. No shower screen in room 106, just the evidence of where it once stood so floor flooded. When I mentioned the bar issue at reception, there was a casual apology and I was informed that the bartender had worked there for some time. This place has a lot to learn about customer care!
The hotel was located near from the train station. And we loved attractive small garden in the hotel. But, most of all, the staffs are very kind. I was very touched who remembed my words. Special thank to Mr. Najib who helped my little son who had a cold.
A truly beautiful hotel in a great location, and we found the staff to be very courteous and attentive. I can't give it full marks only because they were unable to make the hot water work in our shower for the entirety of our three-day, two-night visit. A hot shower is kind of basic, especially when your trip is all about logging 15,000 steps a day in a beautiful, walkable historic town!
The location of this hotel is absolute perfection. Step out the front door into a magnificent park, turn to your left and you are at one of the main squares with great cafes, restaurants, shopping... The staff are friendly and the hotel was beautiful decorated and spotless.
We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour we were doing around France. I stay in Accor hotels often for work and love Sofitels for their slightly boutique/quirky nature - this hotel has this and we loved it. It is very central and close to everything you want to enjoy. The rooms are a good size and the beds comfy. The outside garden area is wonderful for a drink in the afternoons. The staff are pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The o ly things that stopped us rating this hotel a 5 were the shower not having a wall bracket (so needing to kneel in the bath to try and get wet or have your other half hold it for you - quite strange!!) And also the set meal we had as part of the tour for dinner (beef bourguinon for main) was not that great. I would stay here again and would reccomend the hotel - we enjoyed it!!
While the stay here was fairly pleasant, it took some work to get there. We booked 4 rooms at the same price level and they were all very different. When we went to inquire, they told us that they were all the same. I had gone in all 4 rooms to put away everyone’s bags, and they were definitely different; one was almost twice the size of the others. It took us going back to them and requesting to see other rooms before they moved us to something we felt was more appropriate for the money. That aside, the valet was great. The breakfast spread was quite good. The bed was comfortable. The shower was modern with nice water pressure. With the desk staff being the one negative, I wonder if the manager is away on August vacation or something?!
