Richmond's not safe. I was given the master key that opened every room in the hotel. I was told my room was the best; it turned out to be the opposite. Always ask, if you can see several rooms so you can select one. Be patient, they are not versed with hospitality but they sure like to charge you as if they were. Try not to get upset. Breakfast - do stick to bold eggs, toast, and coffee; the other foods will get you sick as a dog and believe me-it not easy to find a bathroom in Dhaka when you got the runs. Finally, If you did an online booking and want to cancel: (1)get approval from front desk. They will say no at first or say it's not possible and it's not up to them. Just ask if they will approve the cancellation if they get called. (2)make sure they follow through with what they told you. My experience was that they will say yes to you then refuse the cancellation to the online folks. I found this out when I overheard them talking. They will also try to make the process more laborious by requesting cancelling documents from the online folks then wait be approved by the manager. They may also say they are unable to receive the cancellation documents and may ask you to take a seat, which means they'll forget you for about for an hour or two; so don't let up. Make sure all docs are CC'd to you as well. Other- don't plan to make any local calls using their phone as it does not dial out. Don't use room service restaurant the portions are not enough for one.
