Needed a place to put my head down when I went on a business trip. I booked later then usual, but still had an excellent rate for a good room and a decent breakfast. If possible I prefer HI Express hotels above Ibis, Premier Inn or Travelodge if I get the right price. It is a level above the other ones, who are good too, but just miss the refinement of this chain. This hotel is very good located for the M5 and the airport, with a decent restaurant next to it.

This is a modern hotel will all what you need for a comfortable stay with very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were very convenient , All the staff wee very pleasant at the reception and in the breakfast restaurant. The location is very convenient for the M5 , A30 and the airport.

Great value stay. Location is ideal, just off the motorway & close to the city centre. Room was smal but well decorated and clean. Great touch having free breakfast, makes for a great value stay. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Stayed here with a colleague on a business trip as we had training at work. Good stay and what you’d expect from a Holiday Inn, greeted at check in and the room was very spacious and clean. There is a large free car park and staff were very friendly and helpful. Only disappointing thing, the Holiday Inn don’t own the restaurant next door anymore and the small menu could do with updating inside too. Overall, good stay and would stay here again.

As with all the HIE chain, fits the bill - good value, breakfast lacks a bit (hotplates of sausage, bacon, beans and fake scrambled egg) but worth it and consistent - clean and has everything you need.

Holiday Inn & Express hotels ‘do what they say on the tin’ It is Alway very good quality, service and value. Bar and food are good quality as what you expect from Holiday Inn. Staff are brilliant and helpful. Quick check out and easy checkin.

good all round though the car park is at an angle and not easy for us old codgers to navigate other than that everything was fine.we like their breakfasts and that is the reason we choose them over say premium hotel

This hotel is just off Jct 39 of the M5. Booking in was made easy dy the pleasant staff and the information given. The room was very clean, tidy and had all that was needed for our stay, Breakfast was included and was buffet style and all you can eat with a good variety for both meat eater and vegetarians

I don't stay in chain hotels very often any more. I am a bit tired of the cookie cutter feel of them but as we were driving to Cornwall and only needed a place to sleep for the night the Holiday Inn Express Exeter seemed a good place to stop. It was a 3 minute diversion from where we needed to pick up our trip in the morning. Check in was quick and painless. I am Gold with IHG and they are more than welcoming. Our room was quiet, spotless and nicely decorated. Bright and cheerful. Wifi was fast and free. Hot water plentiful. The bar area was nicely designed. We brought dinner in - using the microwave and dishes from the breakfast area. Breakfast was great. Being a sugar free, pescetarian it is often an issue but they had veggie sausages, plain yogurt and sugar free muesli - I couldn't have been happier. Check out was a breeze and off to Cornwall we went.

Stayed here for one night at the end of December. Check in staff were great, very quick and told us everything we needed to know. Our room was situated on the ground floor and although seemed clean at first we noticed that the carpet hadn’t been hoovered and there was a few coffee stains. it didn’t really bother us too much just thought that as paying customers cleanliness good have been a bit better. The shower was a hit and miss with it spurting out of the top of the hose and the temperature was only warm even though it was set to the highest. to be honest it’s cheap enough for what it is and I consider these only miner things and would happily visit again. Breakfast was a great added bonus for free may I add! Lots of choice from cooked to continental. Staff were friendly too. I would recommend this hotel on the grounds that the staff are lovely and helpful, it just needs a few areas looking in to.
