Great Staff and location. First time visiting Royal Oak and the hotel is conveniently located where we could walk to restaurants and stores. Breakfast was available that morning and they had more than your standard breakfast options. Area felt safe and at night the bar area had a few people but not overly packed.
Loved the breakfast!! The one thing I didn’t like was the bathroom doors had frosted glass and when you had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night it lit up the entire room. But we definitely go back there again!
Everything is great. The only minor issue is the hot water takes forever to come up when showering.

Overall the property and location were nice. There is free self parking behind the hotel. There needs to be more breakfast options for non-pork eaters. The house keeping department never cleaned our room during our 4 day stay. They had us on the schedule for cleaning on the 3rd day but did not clean.
Hotel is clean and modern. At check in we were told if we wanted room cleaned and beds made we needed to let them know by 9pm the prior evening. We asked for housekeeping to make our beds daily for the five days we were there, three of the days it was not done, we needed towels at 11pm after coming back from a long day, service was poor

The location is great for Royal Oak and suburban Detroit. It is a comfortable basic hotel. The front desk staff is lovely.
