Hampton By Hilton Riga Airport
"This was our last night in Latvia and we booked this hotel due to its proximity to the airport. The bus stop that takes you to the airport is 1 minute walk away, the journey at 05.13 takes 4-5 mins. We stayed at various hotels prior to this as we visited 4 countries in 10 days (I know 😅) and this was by far the cleanest place with that crisp bedding feeling you want in your hotel, pristine shower and just that vibe of: I’m in a great place. The only downside was the breakfast as it offers “continental” choices at silly o’clock in the morning but the apples were all bruised as were the bananas, we grabbed 3 small pastries and bounced so ideally had they told us that the choice would be this limited for takeaway, we would have prepared better and stocked up. In general my suggestion would be to offer an option of booking without the breakfast option for people wanting to leave before the crack of dawn. Or improve your selection of things on offer for those rushing off. I had to ask for a takeaway box in reception. The lady was using her the phone (which seems to be generally accepted in Latvia: we went to the medicine museum and the younglings supervising exhibitions would be parked off in the corners of their respective galleries with their noses in their screens, just to put things into context). Overall, I’m sure the breakfast would have been ok had we had the option of eating a little bit later when their normal service resumes. It ticked all the boxes otherwise."
