Tradewinds Hotel
"We stayed for a week at Tradewinds and really enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay there again if we were to return to American Samoa. Two things to be mindful of- the hotel provided us with 2 water bottles each day. There is no notice not to drink the tap water, but most sources recommend getting bottled water. The info from the locals ranged from it’s dangerous to drink the water to it’s OK, but we don’t drink it. Be prepared to buy water. The flight to/from Honolulu is late in the day and was delayed both ways for us. Many people recommend booking an additional day at the hotel so you don’t end up sitting in the hotel lobby for hours waiting for the shuttle. 6:00 check out is possible, but not guaranteed. Even if you get it you sit in the lobby for hours (assuming the plane is on time)."
