We were met with several obstacles during our stay at Sterling Shores. We arrived to find the property under heavy construction which we were not made aware of prior to arrival. Entire floors of the property were unavailable during our stay, our balconies were unavailable during out stay which we were not made aware of prior to arrival, the main pool was out of service for maintenance as well as the fitness center. Construction began at 8am every morning (weekends included) and continued well into the evening hours each night. On one instance construction workers tripped a fire alarm and the entire property was evacuated at 8:30pm. Upon arrival we found that our balconies did not have functioning locks and when we contacted real joy vacations, we were told that it was after hours and the HOA was unavailable to address this. We never received any update or assistance with this matter for our entire stay. Upon checkout we discovered that the dishwasher was not working which we were not made aware of. We did enjoy the Destin area, but due to the above circumstances and poor follow up from real joy vacations, we will not be booking in the future.
