While our cabin was clean and cosy unoccupied cabins appeared untidy. The main dining and bar area was always very clean and warm, and manned by very welcoming and helpful staff.

The owner was very friendly and helpful, as were all the staff. Would have liked a microwave in the cabin but it’s not a deal breaker. The gas log fire in the cabin was lit which made for a warm and cozy welcome when we checked in. The bed and bedding were nice, warm and comfortable. As it gets pretty cold there, electric blankets might be a nice touch, that way you don’t need to leave the gas heater on most of the night. All in all, we had a lovely time.

Location was great. Lodge building was beautiful and staff at reception and the restaurant were friendly and helpful. Cabin was ok - clean but a bit dated. We were given an accessible room which was unnecessary and a bit disappointing. If you are going during the rainy season, be prepared for a muddy walk to the cabin.

We booked the top level room available and paid accordingly but were very disappointed, no real fire place (gas), dated, basic and needs some work to match the price point. Okay if you’re a hiker needing a place to stay but not what you’d expect if you’re a couple on holiday touring Tasmania. Better elsewhere and can see why it wasn’t busy.
