A good location on the edge of the city centre with secure free parking. Staff were smart, helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable and there is free WiFi. Breakfast is included in the morning on a serve yourself basis. There is small bar to obtain drinks and the area is quite comfortable. This hotel is just like all the others in the chain so you know what to expect, good service, a nice room and a more than adequate breakfast.
both occasions i have stayed i have found the hotel staff welcoming, the rooms were clean rooms comfy beds. nice shower easy check in and fab breakfast with lots to choose from. will definatly be back.
My wife and I stopped at the Holiday inn Express Derby (Pride Park) on a stop over for a works Christmas Party. It's not the cheapest hotel in the area (Premier Inn close by) but was only a five minute walk to the Roundhouse Venue where our party was being held. There's plenty of parking space and secured by barrier access, you have to register you're car at reception otherwise (after reading other reviews) you receive a fine. Check in was quick and informative and the staff professional and courteous at all times. The rooms were spacious and clean and were provided with all the facilities you could need from a stop over ( hair dryer, coffee/tea making facilities, extra pillows, basic toiletries). We were situated on the third floor at the back of the hotel facing an industrial park. We had a good night sleep (no excessive noise) apart from the unavoidable comings and goings of other residents. The only negative was a very pungent smell coming from the corridor during our stay, on enquiring at the reception desk we were informed that unfortunately they had experienced a flood which had saturated most of the corridor two days earlier. There was a nice little bar area near reception and a confectionery snack bar and microwave for residents to use. Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to sample the breakfasts as we had to be up early the next day for work. Overall a brief but pleasant visit.
Me and my friend stayed the night at this hotel. The bed made our backs ache as it was as hard as concrete, the sink tap was leaking all night. In the morning we could not shower as it was running cold water when turned to the hot water and the shower head was leaking as the hose was split. Not a good impression for getting people to stay here.
Stayed for the night before the footy match on New Year's Day. Me & hubby don't normally do anything so this made a nice change!! We took some drinks and snacks but the hotel has a bar and snack bar/fridge (although not much available at the time). An ice machine and microwave are also available to use. A small bottle of water was £1.75. We had a ground floor room with a view of the car park. We had booked a meal at Harvester across the road and called in Chiquito's for a cocktail. Heating was a bit hit and miss in the room, but otherwise all ok. Breakfast was good and a varied choice of hot & cold. Check out was a late 12pm 👍 and we were able to leave our car in car park until after the match. Nice, friendly staff and would definately stay again.
Was staying nearby at a Premier Inn and got a better rate here, moved over. I have to say I got a much better nights sleep here and would certainly choose to stay here again. The breakfast is ok, not as bad as some people are saying on here. But the good thing is the bed and room are setup really well so you get a great nights sleep!
This hotel is typical of the genre, functional, clean and with friendly staff. The location is excellent and only 15 minutes walk into the centre of Derby so shopping is easy. The hotel is only 15 minutes walk from the train station as well.
Polite and friendly staff shame I had to wait for just under an hour for the 4 cheese pizza which Is one of only 2 options on the menu, unusual as I was the only one in the lounge which was also very cold and no atmosphere
the location is right next to the train station and close to the town centre, the parking and wifi are included and very good the staff were also very helpful, the breakfast is a nice touch and well worth it.
V good Hotel. My boss called it a 'cutey'. Bright white towels as Holiday Inn quality is always . Great Breakfast. Grab and Go available. Ate a very sumptuous Pizza for dinner. Very comfortable sleeping and good bathroom. Helpful staff. Can walk from Derby Train station to Hotel with one carryon and backpack. Close to Industrial Jubilee Park. Costs 5 GBP by taxi.
