Just stayed for one night before our flight to corfu...very friendly staff...well looked after...everything was perfect ..room is basic with a tiny tv but for one night you don't need anymore than a clean bed...I would happily stay again...thankyou
Comfortable but basic. Extractor in bathroom did not work and staff did not seem concerned when reported. No air conditioning which is rare today. Fortunately the heat wave had passed. Welcome Inn next door offered service station quality foods so you won't starve
Booked for night before an early flight from East Midlands Airport. The hotel is quite a complicated drive up and down the dual carriageway to finally get to the airport. The building and it's fittings are pretty tired but the room and bathroom were clean and adequate and the price was exceptional but best of all the staff are incredible. Holly was on reception on arrival and she could not have been more helpful and friendly, as was the young lady who we saw briefly at 5am who had been on duty all night. Thank you both.
Very dated and dirty hotel!! We booked as a family and the room was not set up for 4, when going to the reception to ask for the bed to be made she gave me the sheets and said here you are. The bathroom was rusty and in need of desperate improvement. The drive in the morning is about 25mins to jetparks, which is the deal that Holiday Extras offer. It's a trek and if you can afford to stay a little closer and pay for a better quality hotel do it!! We felt like we were shaking of bed bugs in the morning xxx
I stayed at this hotel for two nights with my partner and our little boy. Having read some of the reviews on TripAdvisor, we didn't have very high expectations. We were dreading what we might find. We do have a couple of criticisms in that our room was extremely warm & also the double bed we slept in seemed to sink in the middle. However, our room was clean, water was hot, free parking & WiFi, plenty of tea and coffee supplied, there's also a WH Smith down below which is open 24 hours, the staff were very welcoming & it was so cheap too. We would definitely stay here again,
The positives were that the reception desk staff were friendly and informative and the room was spacious. That's it. The decor was very dated, furniture old, bed lumpy and pillows flat and uncomfortable. We had a confirmation booking stating we would have a double bed and a single bed, as our family room. We arrived late after a full day at Alton Towers, which this hotel was partnered with for a deal, to find we had to assemble the sofa bed for our daughter to sleep on. It was very old looking and did not assemble flat, one part dipped down making the whole thing uneven. Luckily this wouldn't matter for a small child. However, as a previous review has pointed out there were no sheets in the room to make up the sofa bed. Only a duvet and pillow. We made do by folding over the duvet to make a bottom sheet. Not good enough though. We made do as our daughter was tired and just wanted to go to bed. The double bed was lumpy, pillows were useless, TV very small and generally the room didn't feel clean. Then we were woke at 3am by the guests in the room above getting up, walking around and using the bathroom. Their floor creaked loudly with every footstep. Assuming they were up early to catch a flight. Not impressed and will not stay here again. Only chose this hotel as it appeared a good package deal for Alton Towers. The building is obviously old and needs a lot of money spending on it, or just knock it down and build a new hotel. Would not recommend this hotel to stay!
It was not easily identified on the sat nav map - I decided to take the turn off at the service station just out of pure luck! Apart from that, no complaints. The room had good facilities and comfortable beds. There was no entertainment facilities, and the bar was literally two stools at the reception. However for what was expected it didn't disappoint and I would stay again.
We booked 3 double rooms via Agoda for a Saturday night stay following a family party in the Nottingham area. We checked in about 9.30 pm and were told that only 2 rooms had been booked, but were able to show a printed copy of booking form. After about 10 minutes, 3 key cards were handed over. Two of our rooms (101 & 105) turned out to be smoking rooms – all of us are non smokers who have never smoked. Such rooms should only be allocated if guests agree to this and we weren’t told, finding out from the room notices. Most will be surprised that such rooms are still legal as they are a workplace for hotel staff. The hotel was fully booked and could not offer other rooms. Room 101 particularly lived up to its dubious Orwellian reputation: the room and all linen (sheets and towels) stank of smoke; surfaces were dirty with stains and cigarette burns; the bathroom extractor fan didn’t work so no chance of drawing fresh air into the room by leaving it running; even worse, the shower was discovered the next morning to be unusable as the temperature control dial had broken, fixing the water temperature at scalding. We complained at the reception desk at check out and were sympathetically listened to by the temporary receptionist and the housekeeper who told us that Room 101 should not have been allocated at all due to known faults. The hotel manager was on annual leave and we were given her email address to raise our complaints. In fairness, Room 105, the other smoking room, smelt, but was “clean” enough. Room 118 was OK. All rooms were on the A50 side so traffic noise is inevitable with open windows, as there is no AC. We infer that the evening receptionist had insufficient rooms to fulfil our booking and knowingly allocated an unclean room with broken shower to provide a short term fix.
Came to the page to leave a review but they've been disabled...can understand why!! Just back from the Days Inn near Donnington Park...where to start!! Booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 children. The sofa bed was not only not made up but there wasn't even bedding in the room for it. Eventually got bedding from reception after they'd been to double check that there really wasn't any in the room. Not sure if there was a wasp nest near the room but we killed 3 during our stay. The double bed only had 1 pillow each...and they were so flimsy they were useless, eventually managed to get 2 extra pillows after being told the hotel was full and they'd run out! The extra pillows we were given stunk of smoke and clearly hadn't been laundered! Tried to shower when we woke this morning only to discover no hot water! When we complained on check out we were told the boiler had broken in the night and there was no hot water in the entire hotel! Still expected to pay full price though despite our issues (had paid on check in) and the only response was a flippant 'sorry I'll pass it on'. Speaking to another guest on leaving they told us they tried to shower before the concert the day before and there was no hot water so the boiler had clearly been out of order for longer than claimed. Will never use Days Inn again and recommend you avoid at all costs! Makes Faulty Towers look like a luxury 5* hotel. Also seems they only allow positive comments on their Facebook page!! Clearly have no care for their customers
Stayed a night before flying from East Midlands airport, took 15 mins to drive to the airport at 5am. Just off the A50 and you have to go back on yourself to get to correct junction, so could easily face a lot of traffic. Hotel room itself is basic but suitable for price. Only issue is there is nothing around the hotel and only a petrol station shop (with Costa) so plan to go out to eat, or each before arrival. They do have take away menus at reception.
