This is a small hotel, located at a good location, its looks nice and clean, staff is cooperative and friendly. Rooms are okay, you can have in room dinning service. Though breakfast could have been better. The price i paid for a snack and banana was way too much. Breakfast can be improved. There is nothing much to do in the hotel. except its in a prime location.
I stayed for 2 days at the Forest. Must say, It's a congested place that has been accommodating multiple rooms and a slow and small lift. the room is good for a solo business and leisure traveler, preferably Male. The availability of hot water in the small bathroom is unlimited. Power cuts are there sometimes, considering Delhi. The staff is not so friendly and look at you with eye of curiosity. Breakfast is mentioned as 7 AM, but gets delayed. Expect them to make things ready by 8 AM. Front desk guys are friendly and check was not a problem. Availability of rooms at the last minute does speak about their service, considering every where else it was full. Word of caution and advice, don't get into arguments with the staff.
A must avoid if you are from the west - I had a truly dreadful experience. I was looking for a hotel for myself and my girlfriend (from Delhi) who I had met a few months before. I checked in thinking nothing of it - my girlfriends flight wasn't due in until early in the morning. I stayed in the room for around 3 hours then let the receptionist know by phone that she would come early in the morning. He told me that she would not be allowed in because she was a local girl. I informed them that if they would not allow her in then I would need to move to a place that did and, given I had not even touched the hotel room other than sit on the bed (albeit for 3 hours) went down to negotiate a refund. I was told this would not be possible and I would have to pay the full rate for the room - even if not staying that night! I kindly explained I was unaware of the fact they would not let my girlfriend in and if I had been I would never have stayed. I had booked a room for 2 people but they would only allow 1 - therefore my request seemed reasonable (especially since the room was untouched!) Please note there is no law in India that stops an unmarried couple over the age of 18 sharing a room as well! This is just moral policing (Delhi at its worst) at work. At this point the receptionist called the owner (he wears a turban for reference) and things started to get really nasty. He started shouting loudly, telling me I was a typical English guy trying to take advantage (not sure how sitting on bed for 3 hours does that!) and calling my girlfriend a word I cannot use here as would likely get this review banned. It was really threatening and scary and I was scared for my safety as he was coming over violent and threatening - looking me straight in the eyes uttering all kind of foul things. Fortunately I had a local number so I called the police (so did he) - he was taunting me laughing at me throughout that they would all be on his side. Unfortunately he wasn't wrong - the policeman he had called didn't speak a word of English and I suspect was a friend - I felt completely disempowered for a just outcome and was bullied into paying the full fee. The owner did calm down however at this point however thank god!. When the police I called arrived 3 offices appeared and all had perfect command of the English - furthering my mistrust of the owner even more. Unfortunately by this point it was too late and I had already been forced into an unjust resolution. Ultimately this is the worst of Indias antiquated views on relationships at work - a local hotel owner taking the law (or absence of it) into his own hands to moral police the youth of today. He may have succeeded in cheating me out of my money through his threatening and abusive behaviour - but I hope this review warns other fellow travellers as to the way this place is run and its moral attitude. Any respectable hotel would have apologised for the miscommunication - explained their policy - and issued a full or partial refund). Please stay well away - we should not be supporting places like this!
We arrived at 10.30 pm on the day the 500 & 1000 rupee was banned & had booked months earlier via booking.com. The reception informed us that we hadn't done any payment and they didn't want to receive our money when it wasn't even midnight. That was somehow settled. The lift was slow and scary, like something from a horror movie. The flush didn't work. And the bathing area drain was clogged! It was overall a terrible experience
Had booked two rooms in Hotel forest green Siri fort road for 5th Dec 2015. Had confirmed booking with hotel also as we were checking in late . On reaching there came to know they had cancelled the bookings , and told us to check with OYO.(As the booking was through them) . Rude front office staff threatened to throw our luggage out and told us to leave. They said , even if we have rooms, we will not give you.(as if we were hooligans of the street) . My 78 year old father , was shocked to bear all this. Have traveled world over , but never met such junglees of Forest green
Mixed feeling of the hotel. The hotel is a little bit old but clean. It is in a nice area. The staff was very rude. First the told me that two bottles of water were complimentary and one day later someone came to my room to charge me the bottles, I had not open the bottles so I gave them back and complained to the manager he told me that he would send the bottle back but never arrived. The breakfast is BAD. I also made a call to a toll free number and they charged my 100 rupies.
Well, mixed comments about this hotel. It's on the main location of Siri fort road and not a commercial type hotel. It's a stand alone building with limited rooms. If your travel plan is in advance, then you might good hotels near airport only for the same cost. The breakfast provided is pretty average and very very limited. The rooms and bathrooms are big, but the amenities seems to be limited. Sort of a hotel for family stay also, with any luxuries. It's rightly said, in one of the earlier reviews, the manager runs the show...The biggest advantage is the greenery opposite the hotel and a best place for a morning walk /jog.
Hotel Forest Green is a very good and decent hotel for official as well as family trips. Cleanliness is maintained. Food (North Indian dishes) is delicious. Only minus point is: it is located in a posh residential / institutional locality where you cannot find any other restaurants or shops around 3 kilometre radius. For OYO, hotel does not generate bills and OYO just sends e-mails about payment status and check-in and check-out status. So, for government employees, there is no proper billing system. OYO should enable hotel people to issue bills for accommodation at hotel. Otherwise, Government employees may hesitate to avail the facility of OYO.
The cost for room is much high in respect to its Locality. Room Service is basic and breakfast given complementary is just formality as part of room, No Proper preparation & tasteless food. Rs 4ooo is much high for average room. I will not prefer until you have such circumstance.
