The staff is professional, helpful, and very friendly. The food is great and the roof has probably the best view Ive ever seen. For an American like myself, the surrounding neighborhood is extremely interesting. This was the first hotel I ever stayed in in India and I am happy that I did. I hope to return one day.
Chandni Chowk is extremely poor area, access to the hotel is hidden in a dead-end dark and narrow alley. Arriving at night we were close to panic and fly back home if our driver didn't check this access for us. Even 500m to the Red Fort looks very far to walk as a tourist. Inside the hotel is at Indian standards, cheap but acceptable and team is nice and helpfull but this cannot balance this terrible location. For the same price, we had much nicer hotels everywhere else in India.
I have stayed here 5 times now, 4 times alone, and 1 time with my Family. This hotel, is a gem, hidden amongst the hustle and bustle of old town. It is very quiet. The location is really exiting. Old Delhi sights and slap bang in the heart of Old Delhi. Well located near important Delhi attractions: Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, Khari Baoli spicemarket, and 5 min walk to the Red Fort. God view from the rooftop. Excellent to go for the sunset. The hotel offers free hotel pick up from the Airport, which was there on arrival every time. It has a restaurant that serves very good food, If your booking includes breakfast, you get like 4-5 options from Indian to Western, and it is very good.. It also has room service from the restaurant 24 hours a day. The Staff, the whole way around from doorman to management, are very pleasant and helpful at all times and really make you feel at home, most speak good English. The room was big and very clean, clean bedding and bathroom, TV, telephone, A/C, all in perfect working order. Compared with other hotels in Delhi at the same price, Hotel Tara Palace is a winner.
Tara Palace is my go to in Delhi. I’ve stayed here approximately 15 times over the past 6 years. I love everything about this place. It’s in a great location to check out old Delhi, very close to Jama Masjid, Red Fort, Chandni Chowk and all the crazy action of old Delhi. The staff are fantastic, friendly and happy to help in any way. Love this place.
Hotel Tara is really nice place and you can enjoy it.its near to red fort and jama Majid and 24 hour food service so that's good well.but every panner iteam test same. But food and tea is really good and stuff is really helpful
Well I travel around the world and I know what to aspect for $30 and this is definitely not value for money. I booked based on the quality of the photographs and some dodgy reviews. I only stayed the one night and moved on to a better location, better hotel and 50% cheaper. The location is very poor, not making it safe in the hours of darkness to go out. Yes if you want to do the Red Fort that's a good location but why stay there overnight... The travel agency attached to the hotel is a total conn, overcharging and using people that are not qualified for the job. I was charged 8800 rupees plus entry tickets and lunch for the one day trip to Agra, making it a very expensive day. You can find the same trip cheaper and run by professional companies. My driver was constantly falling a sleep at the wheel and toward the latter part of the day he became very aggressive. When I check out they also added another 12.5% tax which was never mention on my booking reservation. Also I was travelling alone, but they charged me for a double room and two breakfast. I asked if they could at list remove the 12.5% tax but the answer was no. My personal view is that there is nothing wrong with the hotel, but definitely poor value for money!!
We were the second time here and have felt comfortable again. Perfekt starting Point to explore Delhi, in all facets. The Staff is very helpful and friendly. We would like to mention especially Shhabi on the Day of Departure 5.30AM Breakfest in the Room and also very accommodating.
This really is an exceptional hotel. The location is fantastic as long as you understand it is Old Delhi at its frenetic best. Rooms are big and well appointed. The restaurant room is so-so but the food is great. What makes it exceptional is the staff team. You would honestly be hard pushed to find better in the best five star hotels anywhere in the world. The hotel is scrubbed spotlessly clean every day. Bed linen changed everyday! I stayed for 16 nights and should particularly mention Dilip and Chuppi who are so good at their jobs its unbelievable. But every other member of staff were amazing too. Cannot recommend highly enough!
WE stayed here for 2 days.Inside the hotel rooms are clean and spacious.Food is good. But out side road is not good. You need to carry your own luggage's from the main road as no vehicle can reach hotel gate.
When I first stepped off my taxi on Esplande Rd in the heart of Old Delhi. after sighting a worn-out Hotel Tara Palace sign hanging on the small lane, my real thought is wtf, this place is gonna be the worst hotel I had ever lived. But after I reached inside, of course it's not a bit close to fancy (there are insects and rats), but it exceeded my expectation, the staff are well-trained and mannered, the facility is old but clean and the room is big enough, ac, hotwater, toilet all work well! The breakfast is delicious, the chef must be a nice one, cos the food they provide in the menu is great after I tried it, and it's not expensive and 24 hours available!!! The old-school elevator is cool. And around the hotel there are so many delicious legendary restaurants in Old Delhi. 10 minutes walk to two different metro lines, and Red Fort. The security guy in front of the door 24/7 makes me feel safe. Wifi in the room is quite fast!
