Very good hotel. Nice people. Especially Mr. Bijendra. He helped me very good. I will go back to their hotel for sure! He told me the do and don't in New Delhi. Had a great and wonderful time in India. Cant wait to go back.
Not a great hotel but comfortable enough. Certainly not 5 stars and maybe just creeps in as a 4 Star. It is popular with tour groups. It is not near any major attractions, other than the Lotus Temple (worth seeing). For the other sites around Delhi you will need to take a tour, a taxi or book a car and driver (which is not that expensive). The decor of the hotel is dated and tied and needs a makeover. My room was a good size looking down on the large outdoor pool. There was a comfortable king size bed, a couch & desk. There is a modern TV and dozens of TV channels to choose from, many in English. The bathroom is a little tight with no bath but a good size walk in shower. There is an iron & ironing board & a kettle. Staff overall are friendly but with some more helpful than others. Breakfast was included in my room rate. The selection was ok and included an egg station. The hotel is next to an open air market which is a big plus as it also has some good international restaurants as well as fast food joints plus an assortment of Indian foods, handy grafts and shops including a supermarket. However the footpaths are a mess and a constant trip hazard. An annoying aspect of the hotel is that they charge for wifi ($10 for 24 hour access on 2 devises or various hourly rates for one devise) which for me is totally unacceptable for an international hotel these days and just a ripoff.
Although we did not spend much time in the hotel, it left us with a great impression. The front desk staff was incredibly nice and very helpful and provide us with great hospitality. The hotel was clean as well as the room.
The hotel offers comfortable stay. Rooms are spacious and TV services are adequate. The staff at each centre is courteous and smart. A slight improvement of services at the check in counter with engagement of more number of persons during the peak hours in the morning would reduce the delay and satisfy the guests.
The staff were very accommodating and friendly, the rooms were spacious and modern, the bathroom needs some TLC in terms of decorating but it was easy overlooked by good amenities and wonderful service. Everything was clean and we also used the laundry service which was prompt and met our expectations.
Hard to review this place, because it depends so much on what you want. This is a quaint little hotel in the middle of bustling market area. As such, noisy and lots of traffic makes it hard to reach by car, OTOH, you can step out and within 2 blocks are in the middle of the hustle of a true Delhi market area. Negatives -- hot water 3 hours in morning and 3 in the evening. They will turn it on at request for other times though. Hot water takes 15 minutes to become hot after you turn it on. Internet very weak and slow. I could only get email one out of 4 tries over a space of hours, Beds are very soft and sag. The hotel staff told us the local market was closed, and arranged a taxi to take us to other markets, They took us to government stores where (I am sure) they got a kickback, No matter how hard we tried to explain we wanted outside markets with many vendors, or a bazaar, they kept wanting us to go to government stores, In disgust, we told him to return us to the hotel, where we refused to pay more than half the quoted rate (we were with him less than half the agreed time).
We stayed at Hotel Surya in the Karol Bagh for 2 days. The staff were very friendly & cooperative. The rooms were clean. Room size was adequate, Beds comfortable. Breakfast was tasty. Overall very good experience.
For an 3 star hotel in Delhi very good, staff all good food good room was clean , if I was to moan about one thing , the bathroom needed updating , but everything else was good . Back tomorrow for another night so might update after ? .
We stayed at Hotel Surya in the Karol Bagh neighborhood as part of our Intrepid trip. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean with air conditioning, and a good breakfast was served in their pleasant rooftop restaurant. The hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from the Metro which provides excellent access to the rest of the city. Although the hotel is located on a quiet side street, the neighborhood itself is very busy and quite noisy. Lots of shopping, ATM's, and restaurants are nearby. Despite my positive comments above, I've given them a low score. We had booked an additional 2 nights prior to the start of our tour. When we arrived at the hotel in the middle of the night to check-in, we were told that their hotel had an electrical problem and they wouldn't be able to give us our room. They arranged for us to stay at a nearby hotel called the Regent. The rooms at the Regent were small, not very clean, and had no air conditioning. On our second night, we were told that they had overbooked their rooms, and again, we had to stay at the nearby hotel. No compensation was given, and so, despite a pleasant stay once our tour had started, I wouldn't recommend booking this hotel.
