Easy to get to. Easy drive into Chester City Centre and University. Very comfortable rooms, clean rooms and corridors. The staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't have breakfast but I can confirm it smelt wonderful!
First impressions of this hotel are not great it's on a busy dual carriageway in a service area.the corridors are dark and smell a little fusty.but don't let any of this put you off.the staff are charming the price is very reasonable and the rooms though a little dated are large and very clean the evening food was good and the breakfast one of the best I have had in a holiday inn .recommended
Stayed here with family for 3 nights, good value, fantastic breakfast, pleasant staff and conveniently located. Room clean, fridge and kettle, couldn't fault it. You would need a car which we had but everwhere we wanted to go was not too far away
My wife and I stayed here for 1 night, we were allowed to check in early and found the room to be a good size and excellent value when compared to some others we stayed in over the last few weeks, bed good, shower good
Fabulous stay. Everyone were so good, we were on a mission to find a Camper van which we duly found. They went above and beyond expectation. They even printed our van documents, insurance etc. As we had no way to print. They also sorted our Mobile phone's. Thanks Guy's xxxxx
We were at the Holiday Inn on the A55 by Northop Hall for a wedding Reception. The whole event went very well and was organised very well by management and staff. The afternoon lunch was really nice food, Feta salad, Hunters chicken and sorbet in a shortbread biscuit. Presented very well and served quickly. The evening buffet was ok. Just ok. Not much of a selection, what was served went down well. The staff were very good.
A fine hotel, conveniently located along A55 (although more convenient for northbound than southbound since you must be going northbound to access it). The staff was alert and focused on customer satisfaction. I expect to have occasional problems, but for me the key is how the staff respond when a problem does arise. The Holiday Inn staff rose to the occasion. Upon arrival we found the air conditioning was not working in one of our rooms. So the receptionist found us a different room. (Which seemed a relief because it didn’t appear any others were open.) Unfortunately that room wasn’t going to work, because that was already someone else's. So upon returning to the reception again I realized this was make-or-break time. To fix the situation and avoid any further inconvenience to us the receptionist switched us to an available suite – a much larger room – at no additional cost. For me that was the right course of action, and materially demonstrated their commitment to customer satisfaction and honoring their commitments. That indicates a well-run organization to me. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quite. The restaurant was very nice with attentive wait staff and a decent variety of menu items. Basically a glass-walled extension of the main building, it had the charm of being outside with the comfort of being inside. Breakfast offered plenty of options, which worked well for me as I do not like all-carb breakfasts. My son was fascinated by their automatic pancake machine that made fresh flapjacks on demand. I would definitely return to this property in the future.
I usually count myself lucky if my work books me into a Holiday Inn instead of cheaper alternatives. However, this had little advantage. As far as I could see it offered no additional facilities. The room was a decent size but the space was taken up with an additional double bed. The furniture and decor is tired - the walls having a noticeable mix of matt and satin paint. The bathroom had several grimey staines, the vanity unit was unsubtle plastic and the toilet seat the cheapest, thinnest plastic I have ever seen anywhere. The bedroom carpet had a very nasty stain sitting proud. Of course, you do get free wi-if, an ironing board, a hair drier and a decent breakfast (coffee wasn't good), but these didn't mitigate the negatives, sorry to say.
Stayed for 3 nights for my birthday weekend as a good base for Chester and North Wales All the staff very friendly. Room very clean and modern Had dinner in the restaurant st night very good value and good quality
Held party on 1 july . Staff were very helpful and the room and buffet was first class. Pat looked after us very well and we wanted for nothing. I stayed in executive room which was very comfortable. Breakfast was really good but let down by the very small plates.
